Great stay! No drama!

Wonderful staff/nice place to lay our heads. 1 thing could be improved is the bath house:not adequate places to put our stuff, no shelves, very few hooks for towels, in great disrepair.The caulk job in showers--poorly done. Shower cracked--leaked into the floor. Leaking toilet/floor sopping wet. Hot water was good.Husband is a contractor-he could fix it all, to be a good investment for the future.

Very clean, friendly staff. Quiet hours are observed for the most part, and off away from town which is great for tent campers.

Thank you for your feedback. We also love our treed location and our tent campers. Each year we try to add amenities for tent camping like our dish washing sink and Easy Camping tents for those without equipment. Master plan includes an outdoor kitchen with multiple stations. Hope to see you soon!

Maybe consider keeping an employee around until maybe 11pm so guests won’t be forced to confront drunk people to ask them to respect quiet hours

I was very grateful to have a campsite for me and my dogs on short notice. The 24 hr. showers were a great option, though, mine ran out of hot water about 8 minutes in. The campsite was very tidy and the ground was perfect for pitching a tent. I would have preferred a later checkout time than 11. I was "checked on" several times by the camp maintenance person in the golf cart from 10 to 11 am.

We are really happy we were able to help you find a great camping spot. With regards to your shower time, we are so sorry you went through that, we did message everyone advising our propane supplier had let us down that morning. We would love to have you back to experience a long hot shower.

We had an amazing stay at the Valdez KOA! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Lori provided helpful information and was a hoot to talk with. We will definitely be back and will most likely make a camping trip in Valdez a yearly necessity!

Our stay at KOA Journey in Valdez,Alaska was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. The owners were so helpful to my parents who were staying there as well. My parents were having issues emptying their trailer tank the owners helped them until the issue was fixed. The bathrooms/showers were very clean and nice. We recommend KOA Journey Valdez 10/10! We will be back!

Accidentally left something at our campsite & called repeatedly trying to contact someone to help us out & your syrupy voiced British operator promised someone would return our calls & no one ever did, & no mention of any policy on lost & found items.

Sir, we have been unable to reach you to assist you. We did call back on June 5th & again on June 6th. We left messages both times. Our calls are going straight to your voicemail. We have also sent you 3 text messages to the same number. We are anxious to assist you find your lost property.

We had a great tent site, it was spacious and in the trees. Other sites weren't the best with the mud and rain but we got lucky. Decent bathrooms and showers.

Staff was friendly. Campsite was fine. Quiet hours were neither observed nor enforced. Did not appreciate fireworks at 2am. Prohibition on bear attractants were neither observed nor enforced. Open coolers of food sitting all over the place day and night was appalling. Should have been a bunch of citations issued by wildlife troopers. Warning people about bears then allowing that is ridiculous.

Even though I only spent one night at the camp, from the moment I checked in and until I checked out I was most welcomed. The checkin process was very easy, the lady that checked me in showed me exactly where my site was located and told me about facility location. The camp site and picnic table were clean, firewood and fire ring available, and it was very quiet. Nice pet facility. Thanks Nena!

The site was very nice. The bath house was very nice. My only complaint is that $12 for a bundle of firewood is outrageous. Some bundles only have 4 pieces of wood. Even Arches in Arizona which has their wood brought in is only $8. There is plenty of trees in Valdez so there should not be a shortage.

Everything was great, and the hosts were very accommodating and friendly! Facilities were very clean. The biggest downside to the experience at the Valdez KOA was the noise. Had a hard time sleeping because people were pretty noisy at night, yelling and playing music at midnight, while others were up at 5am with screaming kids and slamming car doors.

We had an enjoyable time. Place is clean ad showers and restrooms are very well maintained despite that when we were in Valdez it was raining the entire time. The campgrounds personnel made our stay as comfy and as dry as possible.

Our stay was excellent. We asked for a different camp site when we arrived. And we we accommodated. We loved our site, the bathrooms and showers were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly.

I had a wonderful experience right from the start. The staff that welcomed me were friendly, helpful and full of great tips on where to go and what to see! The campground was clean and quiet. I will definitely stay again!!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful and reminds us why we love KOA's so much. Everyone was so polite and the campground was so well loved and taken care of. The GM who checked us in was absolutely wonderful and we cannot wait to come back and stay at the Valdez KOA again!

We arrived to find a place to stay overnight as all the hotels were booked. We were able to get a tent site and we slept in our car. Lori was very friendly and responsive to our needs. The bathrooms were nice and not too far from our site. Very busy night of campers. We enjoyed watching the children play and ride their bikes and others walking the area. This is how family should enjoy each other.

Staff was very friendly, the bathrooms and showers were clean and noticed they were monitored hourly by staff member. Disappointed about the WiFi, although I was given a heads up that there are issues due to weather, the back tent area is obviously out of range of the router, I would stay again at Valdez KOA.

All in all it was good. Small feedback at the tent campsites. You had folks all stacked next to another then a whole bunch of empty sites all by themselves. You could attempt to leave an empty space between each tent site as part of noise reduction. Not everyone is "quiet" after 10:00. I understand if it's full but there was more empty spaces than filled. Could of had 2 empty spots between campers

Our family stayed during opening weekend 2026 and had a wonderful time. As it was opening weekend and the campground had recently made some improvements, we had a few minor issues the first day of our stay. That being said, the staff here is amazing and will treat you like family. Our cabin heat wasn't working properly and within 5 minutes of us reaching out they were knocking on the door with a space heater (even though it was after hours). The couple other minor concerns we had were addressed just as quickly and professionally. I highly recommend staying here. It's nice to be off the beaten path but close to everything as well. This place truly cares about your experience so if you have any issues- TELL THEM! Issues can always pop up anywhere you stay but this place will address your concerns quickly and with the same level of care they would a family member. 10/10 recommend. We will be staying again for sure!

Selena made our stay! We came in late and were super tired. We drove down from the Dalton and were in dire need of rest. Selena instantly made us feel at home, safe, and comfortable. The next morning she helped us to rent e bikes to take into town and we had an amazing time! Thank you for the recommendation and an awesome experience. I would highly recommend this stop! Thank you Selena for one of our best memories of Alaska!

Great campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. Their on-site laundry and showers are great. The showers in particular are in-door and heated as well as very clean (compared to other locations we've visited). Their staff is quite helpful and accommodating - they even saved a cinnamon roll for us, since they knew we'd be late getting back from our morning excursion.
