I needed to change my reservation, not once, but twice, and thankfully those changes were graciously accommodated. We were told that due to recent temperatures our cabin would be chilly, but a second electric heater would be delivered to us shortly that would remedy that situation. The heater was delivered 10 minutes later. The cabin was clean and the bed was firm and comfortable. No complaints.

Our stay was great Lori and the rest of the staff was wonderful and welcoming.

Very nice park, just outside of Valdez. The park was quiet and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone I know coming to the area.

Yet another great stay at the Valdez KOA Journey. Still nice and quiet, and off the beaten path as compared to campgrounds in the middle of town or those packed along Dayville Road. The staff was great at accommodating us, and continue to work tirelessly at maintaining a clean campground, bathrooms, showers, etc. This campground will continue to be our "go-to" location for our Valdez visits!

We rented the small glamping tent. We loved this tent! It rained for about 36 hrs straight and we were high and dry. There’s a heater inside which was next level camping. Also a kuerig coffee maker & 4 pods. You can buy more at the Safeway in town. Also came with a set of bath towels for 2, 2 twin comfy beds and a sweet stuffed black bear. Jason is a gem with a quick wit and super amicable.

The people operating the place were great and are maintaining to high standards but unfortunately, due to the recent rainy days the entire place has become a mud pit. Honestly three or four trucks of gravel would go a long ways in combatting mud filled trailers as well as repairing ruts in the road.

Our first two days were great, since the area around our tent wasn't crowded. The last two nights (especially the last one, when there were 3 tents, 2 cars and 5 loud children under 7 five feet away from us) were more congested. We needed to catch the 7am ferry in the morning. We normally never camp in campgrounds, but the showers and bathrooms were great and this stay suited us very well.

Lori was exceptionally helpful getting us the sites we needed and providing for our stay. Valdez KOA is the best option for your Valdez visit for silver fishing off Allison Point, halibut charter, kayaking on Glacier Lake and a Stan Stephen's Tour...it was a wonderful week. Thank you Lori and staff! We will see you again next year!

Wonderful stay at the Valdez KOA Journey. Wish the dog park fenced area by the playground area was extended about 8 to 10 more feet wider to make it a more enjoyable experience for the dogs to run in. Other than that, keep it up. The wifi signal was great for what we needed to do with our devices. Thanks. See you next year.

the manager was very accommodating and friendly, appreciated that we had extra space to park an extra truck and boat trailer, lots of places to walk dogs without bothering other campers, will be back next year :) if the fish lets us lol

Great chalet with few adds needed: too few kitchen supplies, no basic condiments like salt, pepper , very limited amount of tea, coffee, sugar (just 4 of each for 3 adults for 5 days). Great heating and patios furniture, comfortable bedding, a lot of lighting and sockets. Love it and will be back while in Valdez.

Could have used more gravy in sites, and they are very close together. Very muddy and stinky after rain. Showers and restrooms are ok, but they are not separated by men and women’s so anyone can go in.

We loved this KOA! The location was great with easy access to all of the sites in the area. It was also quiet with clean bathrooms and showers. We will definitely stay here when we return to Valdez!

Our family stayed during opening weekend 2026 and had a wonderful time. As it was opening weekend and the campground had recently made some improvements, we had a few minor issues the first day of our stay. That being said, the staff here is amazing and will treat you like family. Our cabin heat wasn't working properly and within 5 minutes of us reaching out they were knocking on the door with a space heater (even though it was after hours). The couple other minor concerns we had were addressed just as quickly and professionally. I highly recommend staying here. It's nice to be off the beaten path but close to everything as well. This place truly cares about your experience so if you have any issues- TELL THEM! Issues can always pop up anywhere you stay but this place will address your concerns quickly and with the same level of care they would a family member. 10/10 recommend. We will be staying again for sure!

Selena made our stay! We came in late and were super tired. We drove down from the Dalton and were in dire need of rest. Selena instantly made us feel at home, safe, and comfortable. The next morning she helped us to rent e bikes to take into town and we had an amazing time! Thank you for the recommendation and an awesome experience. I would highly recommend this stop! Thank you Selena for one of our best memories of Alaska!

Great campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. Their on-site laundry and showers are great. The showers in particular are in-door and heated as well as very clean (compared to other locations we've visited). Their staff is quite helpful and accommodating - they even saved a cinnamon roll for us, since they knew we'd be late getting back from our morning excursion.
