We were thankful to get a site for the fourth of July weekend. The campground is in the process of making improvements however and it is pretty rustic at this time. We would not stay here again.

The staff is very friendly and they have fun things like decorating your campsite during holiday stays. The accommodations are clean.

Our stay in Valdez was good. Nice wooded area made it feel like camping instead of staying on a gravel parking lot. Unfortunately the only negative thing was the back in sites were tight packed and that about 7 times for about 10 minutes each it smelled like sewer. Possibly from all the full hook up sights but staying at other campgrounds with full hook up we have never had that smell problem.

We had a great stay at the Valdez KOA. It's a couple of miles out of town so you don't have the hustle and bustle of town activity. This campground has some nice wooded sites. The bathrooms and showers are kept up nicely. We will definately be back.

We stopped in for a quick overnight in the duplex before catching the morning ferry. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was welcoming. Would stay again.

All staff were extremely nice. Sites are very short and tight. Seems over priced compared to other campgrounds locally. Keep an eye on voltage. Our watchdog kept going into safe mode due to voltage fluctuations. Often voltage would be below 104 on each leg.

First visit to Valdez, and first time stay at the Valdez KOA. We came for 3 nights. Awesome place to stay. Several RV parks within Valdez, but Valdez KOA is way more picturesque with great mountain views. Staff were very friendly and all were great. Love the RV tank pump-out service! Bathrooms were always neat and clean. Sites a little close, but not terrible is my only complaint. Will come back!

We arrived at the KOA in Valdez 10 minutes before closing time without a reservation and was taken care of by Lori the General Manager. Lori was an absolute delight. She was very helpful and informative along with having and outstanding personality. KOA is blessed having her as a member of the KOA team.

We stayed in a deluxe cabin—it was clean and cozy and perfect for a weekend getaway from Anchorage. We loved renting and riding the e-bikes into town!

This is agreat rustic campground. The bathrooms/ showers were clean and much above what passes for camp ground showers. The sites were comfortable. Employees work the sites to Try to keep them level on a daily basis. The only issue I had with this campground was that, supposedly it was under a boil water notice. The office did have a notice in the office but they blew it off.

Sites too close and none with just electricity. Plus cheaper online?? Why make walk in pay more? Will avoid koa in future if all like that.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate me on short notice. Wonderful park, close to everything in town. Facilities and the staff are great!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Valdez KOA. The bathroom/showers were clean and welcome after each day of exploring the Alaskan outdoors. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had several interactions with Dale who was very accommodating and kind. Highly recommend and we will definitely stay here again.

Campground was clean and easy to maneuver the trailer in and out of our site. Bathrooms and showers were great. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The camp site was clean, the bathrooms were clean, water/showers were hot. The people were all nice. We had a camper that was small enough that we could get one of the sites along the tree line so we had shade. Our site also had the fire pit in the back of the site which we prefer over some other sites where the fire pit was close to the road.

Only reason for 3 stars is we got a call the afternoon before our stay and the lady was very confusing on her directions for parking the camper. She said that we needed to pull through the RV site so my truck was in the middle of the road, disconnect my trailer and then park behind my trailer. I have no idea why she thought that, i did not need to do that. The hook ups were fine and everything fit

I only gave it 4 stars because the playground was closed due to construction of the new one, which was kind of inconvenient with three small kids. There were other things to do, but they were really disappointed about it. We did rent one of the Pet Sites and it was the BEST! Even though our big dog could jump over the fence, not having to jump over tie outs was worth it!

We enjoyed our stay here. It was a very relaxing weekend. The area was kid friendly, which was great for our toddler. We highly recommend staying here and would come back!

We enjoyed our stay. The campground is well maintained despite being dusty but they are working on improvements. Sites were a little too close. It was a great location for us to get around and not far from the townsite. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Quiet and comfortable camping experience. Very friendly staff. The showers and bathrooms are very clean. The showers are amazing with excellent water pressure.

Our stay was fabulous. We were greeted by Lori who was warm, inviting, friendly and very wiling to share her local knowledge. Our accommodations were very clean and well maintained. After a day of heavy rain we returned to a tiny drip. Salina came and fixed the roof. She also refilled our propane tanks at nearly midnight. On our next visit to Valdez we will surely be staying with the folks @ KOA.

Loved our stay, just what we needed after being off grid for a bit. Great place to reset, get a nice shower, do some laundry. Plus it’s on a great bike path that leads to Valdez. Would stay again and would recommend!!

Thought I had requested a full hook up site (online reservation) and was assigned a site with W/E only. Called the office and they were quite helpful in moving us to a full hook up. Glad we stayed there instead of those cramped up sites downtown in Valdez.

Our family stayed during opening weekend 2026 and had a wonderful time. As it was opening weekend and the campground had recently made some improvements, we had a few minor issues the first day of our stay. That being said, the staff here is amazing and will treat you like family. Our cabin heat wasn't working properly and within 5 minutes of us reaching out they were knocking on the door with a space heater (even though it was after hours). The couple other minor concerns we had were addressed just as quickly and professionally. I highly recommend staying here. It's nice to be off the beaten path but close to everything as well. This place truly cares about your experience so if you have any issues- TELL THEM! Issues can always pop up anywhere you stay but this place will address your concerns quickly and with the same level of care they would a family member. 10/10 recommend. We will be staying again for sure!

Selena made our stay! We came in late and were super tired. We drove down from the Dalton and were in dire need of rest. Selena instantly made us feel at home, safe, and comfortable. The next morning she helped us to rent e bikes to take into town and we had an amazing time! Thank you for the recommendation and an awesome experience. I would highly recommend this stop! Thank you Selena for one of our best memories of Alaska!

Great campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. Their on-site laundry and showers are great. The showers in particular are in-door and heated as well as very clean (compared to other locations we've visited). Their staff is quite helpful and accommodating - they even saved a cinnamon roll for us, since they knew we'd be late getting back from our morning excursion.
