There's really nothing that we don't love about this place. The staff, which are made up of several full-time RVers, are extremely friendly and helpful.

Absolutely loved our week here. So incredibly quiet, right on the river. Sites in the loop we were in were a little tight, but still quiet. Everyone was incredibly friendly. Will definitely be returning on future visits. Already planning a visit for fall 2027.

Very nice sites, each with its own patio, patio furniture, and fire ring. Lots of shade, very friendly staff. Every night through the week they had activities for the whole family.

I like the landscaping, but the choice of holly bushes was a epic fail. They poke you as your trying to get in/out of the car. As they grow and further encroach on the parking area they will start scratching campers and vehicles. They need to be removed or trimmed back at the very least.

Best KOA we have ever stayed in. Staff were great. Sites were clean and well thought out. Place was clean. Amenities were just right. Just an overall great stay. We will be back.

We have been coming here for 3 years. Great layout, friendly staff and clean facilities. This year they have put in basketball hoop and my son was super excited about that!

we have camped at a lot of KOA’s. This one in Townsend is the nicest one I’ve ever stayed at. The campsites were very well laid out. Extremely clean. Although we didn’t use any of the other facilities, they were very well laid out. I would highly recommend this campground. we stayed nights.

o say can you see ! very patriotic , red ,white and blue everywhere though it rain and rain we were protected by canopy of trees sounds of birds and rushing river was incredible CHARM church did a wonderful job entertaining and offering old time message that never changes Blessed to fellowship with them campground was very big you watch for kids on bikes only complaint were

Other than the rain we had a great time. Kids loved that you put the basketball goal back up. Sites were very nice and staff was very friendly this year more than ever. Keep up the good work.

The campground was immaculate. Very well placed shrubbery and trees. It was a bit tight with a 40ft toyhauler and dually but the staff were great and helped with the best route thru the campground. The bathrooms were clean and in wonderful condition. All in all a great stay.

Second stay, staff is very courteous and helpful, quiet campground. Bathhouses are clean, shower did take several minutes to heat up, but I once it did, it was fine.

We loved our riverfront site. It was hard to get our large 5th wheel into our space, but the workers were so helpful and guided us until we were perfectly in our spot. Everyone was very friendly and the campground was beautiful and well-maintained. We would absolutely recommend this RV park!

LOVE the Townsend KOA! The camp ground itself is east in and out and so beautiful, the staff are delightful and helpful, the super clean bath house is great, level sites and oh my, the river is peaceful. Definitely a 10/10 and we can’t wait to visit again. Thank you!

Great staff that are very friendly and helpful. Sites are very tight to park fifth wheel with trees and dumpsters extremely close to the road. Large boulders also line the driveways to keep vehicles from turning off the roadway. Bathroom and showers are very clean and easily accessible.

This is a beautiful campsite! Everything was great - except for poor/non-working Wi-Fi. We couldn't get ours to connect at all (we were in bay 53). We are with T-Mobile which struggled a bit in the mountains, so we needed that Wi-Fi to work. I am sure this could be resolved with the addition of a repeaters throughout the campsite.

We were there to attend the Highland Games. The campground is very pretty and it’s in a great location that makes it easy to get into town or into the Smokies National Park. The camping lots are very nicely appointed, nice tables, a fire ring and a double rocker chair, all on a nicely paved patio. The space was level, most look as though they are. My only ding is poor internet.

Very enjoyable, loved all the new flowers placed around the campground to freshen it up. Tom and Kevin that ushered us in were very hospitable. Only issue I saw was that some of the picnic tables that are warped need to be replaced.

This KOA Campground is a great location while visiting the Smoky Mountains! Beautiful grounds with lots of trees for shade. The staff was very accommodating and friendly!
