We have been camping KOA Townsend since 2006. These past 5 years we always stay in the same delux cabin. We understand it is a cabin not a five star resort, but the prices have continued to increase each year with little attention to repairs that are needed. This year we had quite a few large roaches some dead, some still alive in our cabin that was a new one for us and super disappointing �

We celebrated our daughter’s 11th birthday at the Townsend KOA in one of their Deluxe Cabins. The amenities and facilities are always in great shape and it always so much fun for the kids to get outside by the river and their awesome playground!

Townsend KOA never disappoints. The staff is always friendly. The campground is very neat and clean. The facilities are great. Everything is in working order. This is our favorite KOA.

Our family had a great weekend in one of your cabins on the Little River. Loved listening to the river on the porch with the grill and firepit. Impressed that if you need firewood you guys deliver it to the door! Loved location literally right outside the National Park. Staff were so nice!

Our stay was great, the only complaint I have is we had ants in our bathtub and probably cabin and had to rinse it out before using it and the conditioner did not work. Other than those 2 problems, it is a nice, quiet campground. We will be back in the future if nothing happens.

The campground was well kept. Due to the time of the season we came there wasn't much to do at the campground, especially for young kids. The cabin we stayed at was a little unkept- sinks were clogged and floors were not mopped upon arrival. Otherwise, it was a very quiet, relaxing place especially near the river!

Very friendly staff. Very informative, respectful, mannerful, patient, kind and caring. Checking in and making reservations was an absolute breeze. Both ladies at the front desks were absolute gems and kept a smile on their faces. Very helpful.

We love Townsend KOA, we are regulars usually 3-4 times a year and it is by far our favorite KOA From the friendly staff’s smiling faces to the extra clean shower houses and rental units. Definately our idea of heaven on earth

Stayed at KOAs since 1968 and NEVER had issues but this place has been a problem every time we have stayed. The staff jumps on you for going over 5 mph, but they are some of the worst offenders of breaking that speed limit running around in their golf carts. Rules for thee but not for me. I didn't pay that type of money to stay have the staff yell at me and be hypocrites about their own rules.

We stay at the Townsend KOA 3-4 times a year and have never had a bad experience. The campground is well maintained, with clean facilities, accessible to all the activities in Townsend, and just a stone throws away from GSNP.

This is was second visit to Townsend KOA and it didn’t disappoint! The staff is always helpful and friendly. The campground and cabin is clean and well kept. The views are gorgeous and the kids had a great time with the planned activities!

The campground is beautiful with many activities for families. We’ve been visiting here for 15 years. The only issue is that our cabin was very dirty.

Only suggestion would be to upgrade mattress on the bunk bed . It was so bad , I could feel the plywood through the mattress . Felt like I was sleeping on the wood for the most part .

Another amazing stay, the only negative I have is I wish I had more time off to spend out there. Between the fantastic grounds and activities they have couldn’t ask for a better place or time with my family!

We stayed in one of the cabins (DC) and it was very wonderful and roomy for a family of 3 definitely will be back. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable of the area.great experience!

Been coming to the Townsend KOA for an annual trip with family and friends for 12 years and always enjoy it. The front staff is friendly and helpful. The surroundings are clean. The cabins need to have a deeper clean and broken things fixed. Other than that, Townsend KOA is exceptional!

Deluxe cabins are getting a bit old. They need some updating. Also $10 for a bundle of firewood isn’t fair. Stay on top of things folks. People are headed to the neighboring campground across the creek.

We love staying in the Deluxe Cabin right on the river. Nothing is better than hearing the river while roasting marshmallows on the fire! Thanks for a great weekend.

The place was great. Peaceful and the campers super friendly. Staff was super friendly especially at check in and check out. Showers weren't bad for public showers, I love the private baths - just like a home bathroom! The cabin could have been a little cleaner. Cobwebs behind the tv (cable was terrible - snow) and the freezer had been cleaned but needed another wipe down before freezing again.

This was our first visit to this KOA, although we are very familiar with Townsend and the Tennessee side of the GSMNP. The location couldn’t be any better and our deluxe cabin was clean, quiet, and perfectly functional for 2 adults and a teenager. The KOA is on the small side, so expect neighbors. That being said, KOA people seem to be what’s best about America, so also expect to make friends.

Our site was in the perfect place. Out grandchildren loved playing on the new playground, riding their bikes and wading in Little River. If we needed anything the staff was right on it. Clean bathrooms, showers and laundry. The pool was great too! Our stay was an excellent time to enjoy family and meet new friends. We highly recommend KOA Townsend Skokie Mountains!

This KOA Campground is a great location while visiting the Smoky Mountains! Beautiful grounds with lots of trees for shade. The staff was very accommodating and friendly!
