Staff could try to be friendly. They seen a little cold towards guest. Except the young lady at the camp store. She and the guy with one arm were very friendly. The lady at the check in building not so at all.

We’ve stayed at Townsend KOA more than any other Campground we go to. Stayed in a RV, Tent and the Kabins over the years Always get great service and a very nice camping experience. Thanks

We visit the Townsend KOA as often as we can. It is always so peaceful and relaxing. It is so close to several places to visit like Cades Cove, Elkmont Ghost Town, fishing, sightseeing, hiking, biking and on and on. The staff are excellent and helpful if needed. I look forward to going back soon.

We had a riverside patio that was very level, clean, and spacious. Perhaps if it was a tad bit warmer we could have enjoyed it a little more. Even a roaring camp fire couldn't warm up cold hands.

This campground is one of our favorites. We go every year. The riverfront sites are awesome and the campground location near Cades Cove is the best. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.

Wonderful KOA in a gorgeous location right on the river running through the quaint town of Townsend. If you're seeking a great place to explore the Smokies that's away from the hustle and bustle and chaotic fair atmosphere of Pigeon Forge, you should check out the Townsend/Great Smokies KOA! Also a big plus to see a Gideons Bible in the cabins. Wonderful to see in 2023!

Absolutely loved our campsite (#9)...Great view of the river....Staff was nice and kept everything spotless...My husband loved the Shower rooms..very, very clean! Nice...we will be back for sure. Townsend is the quiet side of the Smokies and we have stayed in Pigeon Forge before, prefer Townsend hands down. Just a short drive to Cades Cove...loved it.

First time staying at a koa. We have only stayed in state parks which we love. Everything was great on our visit! A+ to all the staff and everything really.

We love coming to Koa Townsend . We have been coming the same time every year for many years. We make our reservations before we leave for the next year. Everyone is always so nice and the campground is always clean.

the site were VERY small. I could barely fit my small jeep on the site and too close together. I was practically in my neighbors laps so I could hear everything going on outside. Other than that the location is amazing and the services and amenities are great

Wonderful staff they even help guide you into your site and will deliver firewood and propane right to you. Our toilet got stopped up and they gave me a snake to use that got the job done. My wife and I love camping there and have already booked 2 trips for 2024

Was mostly happy with the stay at the townsend KOA. Sites were fairly spread out. Staff was nice and helpful. Wasn't happy about the "no propane firepits" rule, while gas grills were allowed. Not being able to enjoy the outdoors because you don't have any way for heat during the winter months makes camping there pretty useless. Debris fire bans made sense but propane bans did not.

Cades cove is a great place to go and enjoy nature at its best, pigeon forge has a lot of wonderful stores and amusement parks along the strip

This is a "Holiday" KOA so it has amenities for campers who stay away and look for entertainment. It is just outside and entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The "Little River" flows by the edge of the campground then into the National Park. some sites back up to the river. There are many trees in the campground. The bathroom and other building facilities are dated in design but clean, neat and spotless in appearance. I feel the whole campground is well maintained. I have a high-end site, $100/night but I like the space. All sites are gravel. Mine was in excellent condition. Very quiet at night. No AT&T cell service but the campground WiFi worked very well all the time.

Very quiet and peaceful. The bath house is to far from the camping cabins though.
