Since 1965 Laurentide Golf Club has been known for it's immaculate bentgrass greens and generous, rolling fairways of bluegrass. Duchesnay Falls is located just west of North Bay along Hwy 17 on Duchesnay Creek. Like many of the waterfalls on the Canadian Shield, this is a long cascade consisting of many drops and several twists and turns. The two largest drops are each around 15 feet high. In high water the falls forms two main channels, but when I visited the east channel was dry. You can explore every inch of this waterfall by walking and climbing along the rocks. There are no fences.
To reach the falls from North Bay head west on Hwy 17 for a couple of kilometers. There is a small road side park on the north side of the road. This is located just east of where Hwy 17 and 17B meet. The road size park has a paved parking lot. Well defined trails lead to the falls. There is even a stairway to take you to the top if you do not feel like clambering on the rocks.

Lake Nipissing has a surface area of 873.3 square kilometres (337.2 sq mi), a mean elevation of 196 metres (643 ft) above sea level, and is located between the Ottawa River and Georgian Bay. Excluding the Great Lakes, Lake Nipissing is the fifth-largest lake in Ontario.
The lake contains over 40 different species of fish. Most anglers target walleye, smallmouth bass, muskie, and northern pike. For various reasons, largely social, numerous stocking associations are engaged in attempts to manage the lake's walleye population.
The Chief Commanda II is a 320-passenger, all aluminum twin hull vessel that cruises at a speed up to 13 knots or 25 km/h. The ship is equipped with two bars, handicapped accessible washrooms, snack bar and open-air BBQ. On-board entertainment is featured every Sunday, in July and August.

This twelve kilometre pathway, named in honour of Olympic skier and native daughter Kate Pace, is a multi-use trail for walking, jogging, cycling, and inline skating, and is intended for shared use. The pathway winds through a variety of environments including sections surrounded by trees, streams, and nature, municipal parks, roadways, and residential areas as well as North Bay's beautiful waterfront. Along the waterfront, walkers may choose to walk along the lock-stone sidewalk which meanders through seasonal gardens and along beautiful Lake Nipissing, while biker and bladers continue along the paved pathway. The pathway runs parallel to Lakeshore Drive where pathway users can take a short detour and enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants.
Focusing on the late 1800s to 1960s, this community museum encompasses a wide range of subject matter, including social history as well as a good representation of working class and professional categories. Travelling exhibits, workshops and interpretive tours of the immediate area are offered.
