We had the chance to test our camping gear in bad weather and felt fantastic knowing we were in a secure spot. We really appreciate the privacy and the amenities available.

Very nice and clean. Only stayed one night so was unable to enjoy the pool but it was very picturesque. Our only minor critique is that the tent pads are on gravel.

The grounds and facilities were very nice and well kept. The staff was super friendly and very helpful It was always quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our camping experience immensely. Thank you so much.

Dottie and Nancy were exceptional! Helpful and friendly. My only complaint would be the location of the tent camping spaces. They are so near to the marsh that the number of bugs and mosquitoes is hard to deal with. I’m sure that trailer camping is better.

It was our first time and have to say we will definitely be back. Love how we get text reminders on store closing and updates on what’s happening at the campground. The 2 women in the front office were very friendly. Best customer service ever. Clean and well kept campground. Can’t wait to return

Water tasted terrible. Site was not large enough for us to put up our tent. We have a 10x10 canopy with L shaped tent...could only put up canopy. There was no toilet paper in the bathrooms after 9 pm and into the next day. People were super nice but we were surrounded by rvs. One last thing....the place had lights for the street that directly glad on tent sites....kept us awake all night.

People didn't follow quiet time rules and the street lights over the tent site is very unpleasant, RV section was dark but bright lights on the tents is not great.

We apologize for the lights over the tent sites and are working with the electric company to have them turned off as soon as possible. Please give us a call on our after hours number if you experience any noise issues that we may have missed. We are more than happy to take care of them right away.

If you’re in a tent, it’s the most UNPLEASANT spot we have found! When the sun goes down that’s when it gets BRIGHT out, they have bright bright spot Lights pointing straight at the tent sites along with you will be on the MAIN drag so yes EVERYONE has to drive by for Entry/exit And there is no rule on music while driving into the camping area. Not recommended W/tent

We loved our stay at South Padre KOA and definitely will be returning! All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They had fun activities for families, clean campsites and restrooms, and great views of the bay.

Loved our stay. Super happy with our site (tent site) and the amenities including the bathrooms, awesome warm pool and the view of SpaceX. We will be back one day!

Front desk, lady along with the whole staff were absolutely great, very accommodating and polite. Very down to earth and very helpful. Hospitality was second to none. The place was great. The hot tub was hot and the swimming pool was cool. Be stay there again.

Usually, I rate this KOA a solid 5: however, this year, Jan 2024, was disappointing. The commons area is torn down & not yet replaced, sense of community lost. Has a temporary tent w/table & chairs, no gym equipment. Although advertised on the website, there was no water aerobics or Zumba classes. The hot tub jets only create a slight ripple. Love this KOA, but check with them before you book!

This is a beautiful location with wonderful amenities. This camp is very well maintained with it very obvious funds are being poured back into the KOA. Being able to put trash at the edge of our site was a fantastic amenity. The pet wash was also appreciated, but would recommend adding it to a maintenance schedule or instructions for guests to clean out the basin/drain. During our use of the wash the basin had backed up with multiple inches of water due to a plethora of fur/sand. I was happy to clean it out but certainly think it needs attention. We did also find the washing machines even at half full did a somewhat poor job of actually cleaning and rinsong clothing. Dryers were great! Will absolutely stay again.

The reason I'm in South Padre is this KOA. Moved my daughter and son-in-law down to SPI because he will be working there. The grounds are well maintained, the location is excellent, and the park has great amenities. It has kayaks, peddle bikes, swimming pool, recreation center, small gym area, exceptional show areas, playground with a huge jump pad for the kids. They have multiple events throughout the week/weekend. They are adding another section of RV sites that will have excellent views of the bay and will be equipped with fire pit and seating. Nice overall atmosphere.
