Every employee goes out of there way to make comfortable with your stay.

Nice place, clean. The spaces are tight and the large rock placed in the sites are uncomfortable to walk on, however. I would stay again and recommend to others.

With what I saw, I don’t believe my comments would do any good. However, I’ll be sure and tell my associates about this KOA.

Great stay in a water view site. Used the pool a couple of times. Used the laundry. Listened to the live music. Great sunsets. Saw dolphin and rosette spoonbills and regrets.
Feb 21, 2026
Sites were very tight and it was nerve-wracking backing in and when leaving due to tight space with trucks and cars parked everywhere blocking entry and exit to site. Other than the tight conditions, the campground is beautiful with nice amenities and was well taken care of. The office staff was very friendly. Costly for long term stay.

Top notch customer service and excellent facilities right on the water.

Lovely stay. We enjoyed site 109 with our own deck, and the events we went to were fun. Look forward to returning.

Super friendly, attentive, and hard working staff. Love the new clubhouse and patio! The activities were awesome - Jadi and Emily were fantastic! A few more washers/dryers and maybe one dedicated to just pet bedding would be nice. We had a great month.

Stayed for 2 weeks and wished that we would have booked for longer. Beautiful location, beautiful pool area. Liked all the activities at the rec center. The staff were very kind and accommodating. Loved the cleanliness and the beautiful landscaping. It felt like a resort. We booked before we left for next year!!

Very nice, well run, clean and beautiful location.
Feb 16, 2026
I love everything about it, the pool, the hammocks, the fireplace. There's even a tiny book hut if you'd like to just sit and read a book by the bay. We loved our stay by the bay side would definitely recommend. Everybody was so nice and friendly no complaints whatsoever!

Everyone from the campers to the staff were very friendly and helpful. The campground was very clean and well kept. I loved the garbage service right at our site! The colorful chairs on the patios provided a great cheerful vibe!.

Based on the site location. Staff is amazing but their old sites need to be updated. Old wood picnic tables with no new paint or site chairs. Site next to us smelled like a smoke bar. Their sewer hose either is leaking or has holes because it smelled like a black tank. Their site was dirty and not kept up. Seems like all the older back-ins by the marina are just rundown and let go.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for staying with us, and for bringing this to our attention. I will get a team together and see if we can brainstorm some new upgrade ideas for that area. Stay tuned! We hope you will come stay again soon.

I would just warn people with slide toppers to stay inside and not on the water especially during the winter winds! The dolphins came by almost everyday! The sunsets are AMAZING! Friendly staff, great facilities, fun activities, nice pool & hot tub.

Beautiful KOA, very clean and well kept, huge shout out to Garcia mobile RV wash, they made our Motor Home and trailer look brand new, unbelievable job!!! We’ll be back next year!!

Great staff
Feb 11, 2026
the park is conveniently located with great views of the bay, perfect for a launch party, great recreation room. Spots are pretty tight but sufficient. We had requested side by side spots as we were traveling for nearly a month with friends. All of the other campgrounds accommodated that request except this one…which would have been fine but they didn’t even let us know until we arrived.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We sincerely apologize for the lack of communication. We always do our best to accommodate every request and are very sorry we fell short. During peak season, many guests reserve specific sites a year in advance, but we will work harder to notify guests ahead of time if we’re unable to meet a requ

Very enjoyable stay! We especially enjoyed the large pool and hot tub. The recreation center is also wonderful with convenient laundry room.
Feb 10, 2026
The only problem I see is they don’t offer monthly rates to everybody unless you’re grandfathered in. We love it here, but we will be looking for another place next year. all of the staff are great.

Windy, but the sites by the water are pretty roomy.

The check-in process was quick and smooth. The bathrooms were incredibly clean and up-to-date. The sites are VERY close together, though the roads are wide enough to make backing in easy.

It’s a great location, but the RV’s are really too close together.

This is a very nice campground with wonderful amenities and a very friendly and helpful staff. The campsites and other facilities were always clean and well taken care of. We used our bicycles to get everywhere we wanted to go on the island and the KOA was a convenient place to launch from.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you so much for the kind words! We’re so glad you enjoyed the amenities and found the park clean and welcoming. It’s great to hear you were able to explore the island by bike right from here—that’s one of our favorite things about this location too. Hope to see you again soon!

Dotty and the girls are awesome. One thing we wish you were doing monthly stays, we were going to book for next year, but we are gonna go somewhere else instead can’t afford to pay daily.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for the kind words about Dottie and the team—they’ll love hearing that! We offer monthly rates most of the year, just not Jan–Feb and June–July. We’d truly love to have you back during our shoulder months—lower rates, quieter beaches, and the same great crew. Hope to see you so

Our reservation stay was mistakenly cancelled by staff (did get rectified & compensated). Our spot was supposed to have a patio - & we were initially charged for a patio (77 is NOT a patio spot, but map says it is). After brining it to staff attention we were refunded for patio fee. We were disappointed w/the spot we ended up with - no patio, close traffic w/cabins/cabin next door.

We had a good time wish we could have stayed longer

This is our second trip to the South Padre Island KOA and will not be our last. We really enjoy the campground. They have made many nice improvements and the staff is always so nice. The location is great to get to the beach, some close by restaurants, and the free bus has a stop right at the entrance driveway.

Very pretty campsite. We got the last waterfront slot 306. Nice breeze, nice view of sunset on their rocker for two. Nice chairs to sit on. Apparently a lot of people like to fish in that side. There is a sign that they can't pass so they are not at your campsite, but they are close by. Once a family with 4 kids were loud. I was trying to enjoy the breeze and read. We had an issue that because we were a bit inclined down towards the water, our septic tubes were not angled enough. When we hooked up to leave, we moved trailer to street about 5 feet so we can do the dump. Lots of washers & dryers, small cold exercise room, I used treadmill once. They have a nice outdoor area outside of community center with a pretty gas fireplace. Pool looks nice, we didn't get in. Good Internet. They have 4 showers, with toilets. My gripe there is that there is no shade in the afternoon to wait for one to be open. At 4:30 pm, it was hot. I wouldn't mind a stand up umbrella out there. And I don't like how the shower water comes out to the toilet area. There is no shower lip and the shower curtain is short. They need a longer inside clear plastic liner maybe. Short drive to Isla Blanca Park. Cost $12 to get in. There is a nice long beach. They have a Pavilion with hot dogs, snacks & drinks. Another time we tried free Beach Access #4 because it had a restroom in the parking lot. But not much parking in these beach accesses, you have to go early. It's a 7 1/2 hr drive for us, so don't know if we'll go back, but we liked it. If we do, we might try a pull thru.

The KOA was nice whereas you are close to the beach. However, the sites are very tight. If you have a rig that is longer than 40 feet (our rig is 46 feet), avoid sites 114 to 116 (there may be more sites but these are the ones that we noticed). While they offer pull-thru ability, again, they are very tight. We were in site 116 and there is a palm tree that is growing almost sideways instead of straight up. This will pose a problem for any good size rig while pulling in. Another person had to come over and pull on the tree in order for us to pull the RV past the tree. This palm tree really needs to be cut down. Another reason parking in these particular sites are challenging is due to the amount of cars that park in the street. There are a lot of owners who will park their vehicles with half on their site and the other half hanging over in the street. This only adds to the tight feel of the park. Next time we visit, we will try the more expensive sites to see if that will be a difference. We were in one of the pull-thru sites with a patio and upgraded furniture. The price was $105 a night but the weekend is a bit more expensive and we paid $115 for Friday (we stayed from Sunday-Friday). The park offers a ton of activities, if you want to participate with any of that kind of stuff. My husband did visit the fitness center and said it was nice for what it is.
