Our stay was wonderful for the 4th year in a row! Lots of fun activities and campgrounds were very clean. All employees were so friendly and polite!

We really enjoyed the week, and KOA SP was the key. The location and inlet views were fantastic, and the amenities a difference maker. We had a hot water issue which would have been a week killer except we were able to use KOA's showers. The staff was courteous and friendly... cannot say enough good things about this place. Much appreciated!

We loved our stay. The location was perfect. The weather was gorgeous. Other campers were our age. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back. The only feedback I would give is the kayak rental was a little pricey for only 1 hour use and our way to combat that next time is to bring our own LOL. Thank you!

This was our second time, everything was perfect. The staff are so helpful. Met many Winter Texans!

Great spot out on the water.

This is probably the very best RV park we have ever stayed at. Absolutely the very best KOA ever. We stayed in a pull-thru in the newest part of the park with waterfront views. The views were perfect and the weather was incredible. We brought our own golf cart and traveled to several destinations in South Padrea Island during out 5 night stay. I would highly recommend this RV park to anyone.

This was our 9th year to stay at the SPI KOA as a winter Texan. Best weather ever. Updates to the KOA are great, especially the outdoor patio. See you next winter.

We love staying at S Padre Island KOA and have been doing so from 2 weeks to 2 months every year but 2 since 2008. Great place to be in January and February for us, but would be anytime of year too. Well kept park with friendly staff.

We enjoyed our brief stay at SPI KOA enough to extend it by two days because we just weren't ready to leave once we settled in. The staff, along with everyone else we met, were very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect, quiet at night with a free shuttle stop right out front. The grounds are well kept and the bathrooms were well maintained and clean. We used the pool and hot tub daily.

Stayed 2 months. Enjoyed the stay, the pool, the provided entertainment, and the friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

The new bathrooms where very dirty every nite . Water all over it was like wading in a pool

It was great. The only issue we had was the wi-fi didn’t work well.

Very nice park! Amazing pool. Beautiful setting and views. Located right next to Isla Blanca State Park. Great bike paths all around the island.

Had a really good time.

Very well maintained park.Very friendly & helpful staff. Lots of fun adult activities taking place throughout the week. Close proximity & very bikable to beach areas & downtown. Small sites, but very typical for the coastal area. Lots of trees & bushes between most sites, which help with shade and privacy. Jan & Feb are outrageously priced. Just because guests will pay it, doesn't mean it's right.

Nice, clean campground.

Enjoyed a beautiful site on the water. Was definitely worth the extra money. A bigger site with more privacy and beautiful views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We even had a chance to utilize the new K-9 dog wash - super helpful as it's so hard to get a groomer appt on the road. Very well kept and clean campground. Lots of fun activities including live music and pool classes.

We made the mistake of staying in the waterfront sites during February. Nonstop 20-30 mph wind made it impossible to enjoy the higher cost sites. Otherwise, a great park with great people running the show - we enjoyed everything else. We recommend warning people of the wind during windy season before booking a waterfront sites. We would have enjoyed our stay much more at a protected site.

we had a back in site next to the boat launch. Great view of the bay and bridge to South Padre. Park was quite, clean, and amenities were great. Very convenient access to south end of island and bridge to Port Isabel. Can't wait to come back with grand kids.

Staff are very user friendly. Park is very clean and quiet. They have scheduled community events and get togethers. Our son and his family came to visit us staying in one of the cabins and were pleased with the accommodations. Location is great for access to South Padre Island attractions. I would suggest making reservations months in advance. We have already booked our stay for next year.

Standard back in sites are way to close together. Patio is right by sewer hookup of next RV, too many people don't pick up dog poop even in the dog park. For the sites too expensive.

Easy reservations...easy check in. Well laid out facility with a great pool, hot tub, and recreation room with plenty of activities. No issues with our stay!

Had an amazing time. Loved the activities in the afternoon. Front desk was very friendly.

While the sites are tightly spaced, the sites themselves were great - paved and fairly level with full hookups. The campground has a lot to offer with the pool and spa, playground, clean restrooms and laundry facilities. The rec room was nicely kept, along with the outdoor patio area with fire pit. We were also surprised by the activities offered, in addition to the very close proximity to town.

I liked the way that events, check in information we're sent by text and email. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very well maintained park. Ideal location close to things to do in South Padre and beautiful location. I do wish I had paid extra to have a spot that looked out over the bay.

Although very windy almost the entire week, we managed to do some motorcycle rides, swim in the lovely pool, (enjoyed the hot tub too!) and managed a few local restaurants for meals. We did get a nice evening where we sat out and enjoyed the sun and a beautiful sunset. It was a great relaxing week.

Very pretty campsite. We got the last waterfront slot 306. Nice breeze, nice view of sunset on their rocker for two. Nice chairs to sit on. Apparently a lot of people like to fish in that side. There is a sign that they can't pass so they are not at your campsite, but they are close by. Once a family with 4 kids were loud. I was trying to enjoy the breeze and read. We had an issue that because we were a bit inclined down towards the water, our septic tubes were not angled enough. When we hooked up to leave, we moved trailer to street about 5 feet so we can do the dump. Lots of washers & dryers, small cold exercise room, I used treadmill once. They have a nice outdoor area outside of community center with a pretty gas fireplace. Pool looks nice, we didn't get in. Good Internet. They have 4 showers, with toilets. My gripe there is that there is no shade in the afternoon to wait for one to be open. At 4:30 pm, it was hot. I wouldn't mind a stand up umbrella out there. And I don't like how the shower water comes out to the toilet area. There is no shower lip and the shower curtain is short. They need a longer inside clear plastic liner maybe. Short drive to Isla Blanca Park. Cost $12 to get in. There is a nice long beach. They have a Pavilion with hot dogs, snacks & drinks. Another time we tried free Beach Access #4 because it had a restroom in the parking lot. But not much parking in these beach accesses, you have to go early. It's a 7 1/2 hr drive for us, so don't know if we'll go back, but we liked it. If we do, we might try a pull thru.

The KOA was nice whereas you are close to the beach. However, the sites are very tight. If you have a rig that is longer than 40 feet (our rig is 46 feet), avoid sites 114 to 116 (there may be more sites but these are the ones that we noticed). While they offer pull-thru ability, again, they are very tight. We were in site 116 and there is a palm tree that is growing almost sideways instead of straight up. This will pose a problem for any good size rig while pulling in. Another person had to come over and pull on the tree in order for us to pull the RV past the tree. This palm tree really needs to be cut down. Another reason parking in these particular sites are challenging is due to the amount of cars that park in the street. There are a lot of owners who will park their vehicles with half on their site and the other half hanging over in the street. This only adds to the tight feel of the park. Next time we visit, we will try the more expensive sites to see if that will be a difference. We were in one of the pull-thru sites with a patio and upgraded furniture. The price was $105 a night but the weekend is a bit more expensive and we paid $115 for Friday (we stayed from Sunday-Friday). The park offers a ton of activities, if you want to participate with any of that kind of stuff. My husband did visit the fitness center and said it was nice for what it is.
