Worst camping experience ever! Way too cramped, zero space between rigs, very loud music playing all the time. Then Friday night there was a huge Rave held right next door with music speakers and lights pumping until 2 am. We ended up leaving a day early because of how miserable it was! Not worth $100 bucks a night! When we told them why we were leaving early there was no apology or refund.

I rented a cabin. It was perfect. The beds were comfortable. It was wonderfully clean. I have plenty of towels. The pool was excellent and the people were so nice.

It's is well overdue to have the Mangroves get trimmed back. We used to have a clear view of the water. Staff is fantastic! Steve F. Is a absolute work horse, he is a pleasure to see every visit.

Love the location and friendships we have made. The pool temp should be a bit warmer for us winter Texans though!

This is our third year at Padre Island Koa. We stay the month of March and have reservations for 2027. I do gave some constructive feedback. Too many campers take advantage of parking with 3 or more vehicles insite, causing difficulty of campers coming and going. Multiple families joining one paid spot. No control of kids driving Motorized scooters and motorcycles through common areas, or Cu

My stay at SPI KOA was outstanding. Shannon (maintenance manager) is an outstanding asset to this campground and always helpful. Jess and Madison are friendly, helpful and extremely competent in their jobs. The facilities are great, and the people are even better. Joe Griffin

Jess in the office knows her stuff. Most knowledgeable one in there and with a friendly attitude. Maddy was fast to have staff take care of a sewer pipe connection that leaked and spilled over onto the ground. The staff person was back taking care of the issue before got back to my site after calling the emergency number posted at the office. Overall, a great stay!

Always love our stay at KOA on South Padre. Your website still says they have free cable. There hasn’t been free cable for over two years now.

It was our first time using our RV. We’re new to this. Jasmine was super helpful and professional when I called. She was very patient and she went above and beyond to help us out. It was definitely a great experience and we’ll be back soon! The entire staff was really nice and the park was clean.

All the staff were very friendly, the grounds were very clean, the amenities were awesome and the daily activities were very fun for the family. The two ladies at the check-in were especially friendly. I immediately felt welcomed.

Great stay.i had the rv and my kids had a cabin next to my rv. Both were great. Everyone was very professional and nice. Very helpful. I've been here before and will definitely return. Thanks so much

Perfect location and great staff. Park was immaculate the entire stay. We will definitely be back

Our site was pretty quiet

The stay was exactly as descibed by others and we will be staying here again. Only one comment is that the cabin we stayed only had a shower and no bathtub. Information stated that a tub was included which was important as we had babies. It wasn't a big deal and we made it work. Outside that one detail, the visit was exceptional and everyone was very nice and friendly.

This is my 2nd stay. Love it. This time I had my family in a cabin next to my rv which was great. 2 teenagers with us and they had lots to do here at the KOA and surrounding area. They loved it and the free buses. Thanks for making it a great vacation

Nice location but the sites are super tight to the next camper. Our picnic table was ready to collapse. Great place to view a SpaceX launch

Unprofessional staff

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are sorry this was your experience. Our team strives to be welcoming and professional, but we do enforce safety policies for all guests and pets. In this case, action was required due to a serious pet incident. Guest and pet safety will always come first.

Very overcrowded. Sites are very small and difficult to get into. Camp is pretty clean but needs some maintenance upkeep. Some of staff are nice but others are kind of snobby. Was not a good stay for us. Seems they cater to their regulars and snowbirds - many who were very snobby and thinking better than others. Just was not a pleasant stay. Will not return.

This was my first stay at this KOA. I was in space 163 and my neighbor's were having a party and listening to loud music until 2:00am. My stay was not a pleasant one.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We’re so sorry your stay was impacted. That is not the experience we want for our guests. We enforce quiet hours beginning at 10pm, but if issues arise later, please call our emergency number so we can respond right away and help ensure a more enjoyable stay. I'm very sorry this happened to you.

The stay was amazing. The cabin was spotless. The staff is wonderful, the ladies at the check in were so helpful. The rec center is beautiful and there were so many fun activities. Ice cream, music bingo, crafts, train rides around the grounds, kayak rentals, live music. There is something for everyone. The pool is beautiful and well kept. It was so busy but the staff was still so accommodating.

Even though the park is pet friendly there is very little good grass where the dogs can take care of business. The camping rows are very narrow and have no grass for pets. The park does have good access to the water. We were able to put our kayaks in right at the park and didn’t need to find an entry elsewhere.

Very pretty campsite. We got the last waterfront slot 306. Nice breeze, nice view of sunset on their rocker for two. Nice chairs to sit on. Apparently a lot of people like to fish in that side. There is a sign that they can't pass so they are not at your campsite, but they are close by. Once a family with 4 kids were loud. I was trying to enjoy the breeze and read. We had an issue that because we were a bit inclined down towards the water, our septic tubes were not angled enough. When we hooked up to leave, we moved trailer to street about 5 feet so we can do the dump. Lots of washers & dryers, small cold exercise room, I used treadmill once. They have a nice outdoor area outside of community center with a pretty gas fireplace. Pool looks nice, we didn't get in. Good Internet. They have 4 showers, with toilets. My gripe there is that there is no shade in the afternoon to wait for one to be open. At 4:30 pm, it was hot. I wouldn't mind a stand up umbrella out there. And I don't like how the shower water comes out to the toilet area. There is no shower lip and the shower curtain is short. They need a longer inside clear plastic liner maybe. Short drive to Isla Blanca Park. Cost $12 to get in. There is a nice long beach. They have a Pavilion with hot dogs, snacks & drinks. Another time we tried free Beach Access #4 because it had a restroom in the parking lot. But not much parking in these beach accesses, you have to go early. It's a 7 1/2 hr drive for us, so don't know if we'll go back, but we liked it. If we do, we might try a pull thru.

The KOA was nice whereas you are close to the beach. However, the sites are very tight. If you have a rig that is longer than 40 feet (our rig is 46 feet), avoid sites 114 to 116 (there may be more sites but these are the ones that we noticed). While they offer pull-thru ability, again, they are very tight. We were in site 116 and there is a palm tree that is growing almost sideways instead of straight up. This will pose a problem for any good size rig while pulling in. Another person had to come over and pull on the tree in order for us to pull the RV past the tree. This palm tree really needs to be cut down. Another reason parking in these particular sites are challenging is due to the amount of cars that park in the street. There are a lot of owners who will park their vehicles with half on their site and the other half hanging over in the street. This only adds to the tight feel of the park. Next time we visit, we will try the more expensive sites to see if that will be a difference. We were in one of the pull-thru sites with a patio and upgraded furniture. The price was $105 a night but the weekend is a bit more expensive and we paid $115 for Friday (we stayed from Sunday-Friday). The park offers a ton of activities, if you want to participate with any of that kind of stuff. My husband did visit the fitness center and said it was nice for what it is.
