Was verbally assaulted by another camper for asking them to keep their dogs away from mine as I was walking. Reported to office, filed a police report and nothing was done. Very disappointing as the camp ground manager said they would be told they would have to leave and that didn’t happen. No longer felt safe as we found out they were camped across from us. Ended up cutting our trip short.

Due to involvement of SPI PD, I am not able to comment on this situation. I do want to highlight that the safety and security of our campers is our top priority. We do not tolerate or excuse any camper using threatening language toward another.

Excellent campground. Bathrooms top notch. Setting on the island beautiful especially the sun sets and the surrounding mangroves. Well worth a visit especially during the off season when prices are lower.

Very happy with the ongoing improvement to the park but only given 4 stars as we were unable to utilize the club house which never opened during our stay. Having said that the staff and services are excellent. Only negative is the site sizes are pretty tight width wise.

After finding a few things to do in the area, we had to extend our stay for two extra days. As mentioned in other reviews, Dottie is absolutely great! I also dealt with Phillip (I believe) and he was amazing in helping me with extending our stay. A small, minor inconvenience was having to move a couple of spaces over. Beautiful, well kept campground that I will recommend to other campers!

We stayed in a deluxe kabin for three nights. The 2 star rating is based mainly on two factors; 1) for an average of $200 per night we expected more, and 2) the entire interior floor of our kabin was squishy and saggy with sink holes, especially in the bathroom which would sink down 3" when stepped on. We had to request an extra entry door mat to place over the 3" sink hole to keep from cutting ou

My stay was good. However the lady who took my reservation was a bit spiteful. On line, there were 2 spaces available. I asked her for space 86 instead of 91 without paying a $25. Fee because I didn't have a variety to choose from. When I arrived, she had assigned us to 91. But the gentleman checking us in had no problem switching to give us to 86. She showed no concern to do something nice.

Thank you for staying with us. I think I can clear up some confusion. Our reservation system will move you automatically without the $25 lock option. The front desk can't prevent that shift. If the site you hoped for is open when you arrive we are always happy to accommodate at no additional charge.

Loved our stay. Out site was great and had plenty of room for our Motor home and our vehicle. Great activities and accommodated our pet with the K9 camp.

My family had a wonderful first time in an RV and experience living / traveling in an RV for 5 days. We would stay and do it all over again. The WiFi enabled washers is my only complaint maybe posting the “trick” in the room itself would alleviate frustration and save time.

Dottie is the sweetest person and makes everybody stay more enjoyable. I wish you would put signs in the bathrooms reminding people to close the door behind them so it stays cool in there. I can't wait to come back and see the new buildings.

I was at site 29. It is one of the smaller sites. The picnic table was too large for the site. A smaller table would work.

Everything was great! Friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities and grounds. The only area for improvement would be the amount of construction. It will be great when it is done but kept us from enjoying the entire camp.

We were unhappy with our stay. The construction was not only noisy but blocked the boat ramp most of the time. Our camp spot was next to a temporary laundry so we had people constantly walk through our site. With barking dogs and constant noise, it was not the relaxing vacation that we had hoped for.

Our disappointment are the mangroves that continue to grow unchecked along the bay. We’d like to also see the KOA actually recycle and not just have containers saying they are going to be recycled.

Thanks for staying with us. We are still exploring options on the mangrove situation, as they are a protected plant. All businesses on SPI are still unable to get a recycling service. If one becomes available, we would love to accommodate that request. We are trying out your weed spray as well.

My stay was very enjoyable. The entire campground was CLEAN well kept especially the restrooms and showers. The staff was outstanding very helpful . They did a wonderful job to get the viewing area ready for guests to watch the launch that didn't happen � . Will definitely come and stay again in the future.

This was our 14th or 15th year to have visited the SPI KOA (many for 2 months at a time) and we love it. We have watched with patience and enthusiasm the many improvements over the years, including the infrastructure and personnel, services, entertainment, etc., and are anxiously awaiting the opening of the new sites and new building amenities. Personnel now are superb.

We’ve been coming for years. We love it. Can’t give a 5 because we’ve been waiting for 2 years for a commons building/clubhouse. It seems as if this is less of a priority than putting in new sites, and I feel that it has taken a back seat to expansion.

The staff is very helpful with any questions you might have or concerns, very friendly. The park is beautifully maintained very clean. I've told friends & family how great our experience has been & now we plan trips together & go in our trailers to enjoy the beautiful quiet park away from all the chaos of day to day life. We just came back from an extended weekend & we are planning our next stay.

This is a beautiful location with wonderful amenities. This camp is very well maintained with it very obvious funds are being poured back into the KOA. Being able to put trash at the edge of our site was a fantastic amenity. The pet wash was also appreciated, but would recommend adding it to a maintenance schedule or instructions for guests to clean out the basin/drain. During our use of the wash the basin had backed up with multiple inches of water due to a plethora of fur/sand. I was happy to clean it out but certainly think it needs attention. We did also find the washing machines even at half full did a somewhat poor job of actually cleaning and rinsong clothing. Dryers were great! Will absolutely stay again.

The reason I'm in South Padre is this KOA. Moved my daughter and son-in-law down to SPI because he will be working there. The grounds are well maintained, the location is excellent, and the park has great amenities. It has kayaks, peddle bikes, swimming pool, recreation center, small gym area, exceptional show areas, playground with a huge jump pad for the kids. They have multiple events throughout the week/weekend. They are adding another section of RV sites that will have excellent views of the bay and will be equipped with fire pit and seating. Nice overall atmosphere.
