Great location on the island, amenities were as they described. The slots were a bit tight, parking was limited and a lot of others had more cars then they should have which made for some unnecessary requests for them to move.

Everything was perfect

Great place to stay. We will be back.

This was the cutest little cabin, the park was quiet and peaceful! The only thing I would have liked to have had was a sink in the kitchen area, and wished I had found the broom and dust pan prior to our last day (totally my issue LOL). I absolutely loved our stay, if you have very active kids you might want to larger cabin but we were primarily there to sleep and it was great for us!

It's in a great location. The lots are tight so if you have a large camper to back in it is doable with some patience. While we were there we went to the Isla Blanca Park Beach it is very clean and the water was nice and cool. The peninsula was a nice location for me the next time. The laundromat, the gym and the restrooms and showers were very clean.

Nice space but view isn't greatest. For bay view we saw other campers and a boat dock. View was at other direction of camper. Won't pay highest price for this again!

We loved everything about this place! Coming back next month!

Friendly staff and beautiful park. Pet friendly and close to area attractions, restaurants.

The place is awesome! The people running it were eager to help with any questions or issues. This was our first time in our RV and the experience was great. We already reserved our next visit.

Ugliest camping spot I have ever stayed iin!! Open the door to an ugly brown building. Not even enough room to open out our awning!! Pull through spot and I requested a back in when I reserved our spot a month earlier! This spot should NEVER be rented to ANYONE!! HORRIBLE, horrible experience!!! I wish I could include a photo! NEVER STAY HERE!!!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We apologize that none of the solutions we offered were able to help. We understand the inconvenience of switching sites, and know its tough to find other places to stay on the island in the summer. Thanks for giving us a try, and we are sorry again that you were not satisfied.

We had just bought an RV at South Padre was on the top of our list of places to visit. We picked this KOA and we're so amazed by how friendly and helpful the office staff was, and how quiet and beautiful the area was. Our stay was amazing and we will definitely be back

The reception and staff here at the campground went above and beyond to help me out. This is the best KOA by far.

We had a wonderful time at the campground! The whole area was beautiful—peaceful, scenic, and very well-kept. The new rec building was a great addition, and the waterfront sites were stunning and made for such a relaxing atmosphere. Our cabin was super clean and cozy and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, we truly felt welcomed and well taken care of. Can’t wait to come back!

Perfect!

Mostly ok we stayed in cabin 22. The bathroom was not fresh. The toilet area smelled badly of urine. Needs a new toilet that is sealed. Phew.....

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I'm so sorry about this! We will get that taken care of right away. Thank you very much for letting us know.

Great location and staff. Park is kept very clean. Another dumpster would help with trash waste management. Water maintenance was done quickly. Appreciate the text messages. We will return.

Excellent stay and customer service. Very friendly

The best part is that it is more affordable than a hotel, BUT the spots are very close together-VERY close. The neighbors on all sides were partying loudly all night, i did text the number provided and didnt notice it quieted down until 2-3 am. Bathrooms were nice, assuming you could get into one, Usually had to try 3-4 attempts to get into the showers, they could use more units.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for staying with us. Our value sites are a great price option, but they are our tightest spots. We recommend upgrading to a different site type for more room to move around on your next stay. Feel free to give our guest services team a call. They are always happy to help!

This KOA is very clean, up grades are great. A fishing peer would be great for only the customers to use . Being that the old peer is 3 miles away across the bay.

Very friendly staff! They have SO MANY amenities but We didn’t get to try them all! They have fun little activities that involves all the visitors which makes it so much more welcoming. Wished the visitors would pick up after their animals but overall such an amazing atmosphere. I’d say this is a great choice !!!
Jun 17, 2025
We had one of the RV sites on their peninsula! Had an amazing view of sunrises & sunsets!! We were there for Father’s Day weekend & they had a variety of events, ie., pancake breakfast & donuts! They would d en send us a text to remind us of the different events! This park was so clean, with some great amenities!! Can’t wait to come back!

Clean, organized and nice to look at. There’s a lot more to the campgrounds that aren’t in the website. The daily activities are a nice touch for a better sense of community. Pool water looked a bit cloudy though but seemed clean.

The staff is always amazing. Dottie is a true asset to the campground

Amazing spot with awesome views! Friendly staff and a clean environment. We'll be back again soon!!!

The workers were exceptional! Everyone was very helpful and kind. We were disappointed in the site we had. Very close to neighbors and no fire pit. I’ve never camped where we didn’t have a place to cook hotdogs and s’mores.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for staying with us. We are sorry that you were disappointed by the absence of a fire feature at your site. Sadly, most of our sites are unable to offer this option. We have installed three community fire features around the park so no one misses out on that part of the camping experience.

I enjoyed my stay, staff very friendly and helpful and room was very clean.

Excellent

It is a very beautiful campground! They sent out text of programs that were offering each day and even though we didn’t get a chance to do them they sounded awesome and a lot of fun!! Highly recommend them!
Jun 14, 2025
Great stay. only improvement is that I would have liked the option to pay for parking an extra vehicle at the campgrounds. Had 3 vehicles and 2 parking permits.
Jun 14, 2025
Very nice place overall. Much nicer and well maintained RV spaces and grounds than Isla Blanca. Isla Blanca does win on location . Very friendly staff at the KOA .

Stayed in one of the 4 person cabins. This was our 3rd year coming down during May-June. Staff was extremely attentive when asking for anything.

i spoke to one of maintenance crew abou the men restroom. there was no toilet paper at all, and had to get towels from the napkins dispenser. Also papers on the floor since basket was full. he told me that it was because they had full house. other than that swimming pool n places were clean,

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Office staff was courteous, helpful, and polite. Internet worked great. There were some power outages throughout the campground we were informed about, but luckily we were not affected. Our only complaint would be the noisy land/sea airboat that kept coming by our side of the campground every morning around 7am. Not sure if it was a tour, or a coast guard boat?

Very pretty campsite. We got the last waterfront slot 306. Nice breeze, nice view of sunset on their rocker for two. Nice chairs to sit on. Apparently a lot of people like to fish in that side. There is a sign that they can't pass so they are not at your campsite, but they are close by. Once a family with 4 kids were loud. I was trying to enjoy the breeze and read. We had an issue that because we were a bit inclined down towards the water, our septic tubes were not angled enough. When we hooked up to leave, we moved trailer to street about 5 feet so we can do the dump. Lots of washers & dryers, small cold exercise room, I used treadmill once. They have a nice outdoor area outside of community center with a pretty gas fireplace. Pool looks nice, we didn't get in. Good Internet. They have 4 showers, with toilets. My gripe there is that there is no shade in the afternoon to wait for one to be open. At 4:30 pm, it was hot. I wouldn't mind a stand up umbrella out there. And I don't like how the shower water comes out to the toilet area. There is no shower lip and the shower curtain is short. They need a longer inside clear plastic liner maybe. Short drive to Isla Blanca Park. Cost $12 to get in. There is a nice long beach. They have a Pavilion with hot dogs, snacks & drinks. Another time we tried free Beach Access #4 because it had a restroom in the parking lot. But not much parking in these beach accesses, you have to go early. It's a 7 1/2 hr drive for us, so don't know if we'll go back, but we liked it. If we do, we might try a pull thru.

The KOA was nice whereas you are close to the beach. However, the sites are very tight. If you have a rig that is longer than 40 feet (our rig is 46 feet), avoid sites 114 to 116 (there may be more sites but these are the ones that we noticed). While they offer pull-thru ability, again, they are very tight. We were in site 116 and there is a palm tree that is growing almost sideways instead of straight up. This will pose a problem for any good size rig while pulling in. Another person had to come over and pull on the tree in order for us to pull the RV past the tree. This palm tree really needs to be cut down. Another reason parking in these particular sites are challenging is due to the amount of cars that park in the street. There are a lot of owners who will park their vehicles with half on their site and the other half hanging over in the street. This only adds to the tight feel of the park. Next time we visit, we will try the more expensive sites to see if that will be a difference. We were in one of the pull-thru sites with a patio and upgraded furniture. The price was $105 a night but the weekend is a bit more expensive and we paid $115 for Friday (we stayed from Sunday-Friday). The park offers a ton of activities, if you want to participate with any of that kind of stuff. My husband did visit the fitness center and said it was nice for what it is.
