Stayed in one of the premium tent sites. The patio set-up was nice, we could have used a little more shade from the afternoon sun. The overall look was very nice. The extra activities offered were impressive. A great view of the SpaceX launch site.

The KOA South Padre Island is a beautiful campground and clean. The staff is very friendly and they offer delivery of items to your campsite as well as pick up your trash daily. They offer fun activities on the weekends. The park is quiet and and enjoyable. We will come back to KOA South Padre Island again. We stayed from October 3-10 in slot 320. It was perfect!

Love the new waterside sites. The glider rocking chairs were a great touch. We absolutely love this place and return every year. Only thing we didn’t care for were people liked walking behind the rvs by the water and fish behind rvs. Just bad rv park etiquette. We realize that is not your fault at all and not sure how that can be corrected. Besides that.. park is perfect!

Enjoyed a quick weekend here. Relaxed at the park with beautiful sunsets. Took a 6 mile run in the local area through parks and waterfront. Enjoyed the ease of free trolley since a stop is at the front door of the KOA. The workout do. Looked lovely. Laundry was immaculate. Pool was divine and clean. See you again soon.

Manager Dottie and her entire staff made us feel welcomed from the get go. The park and its amenities were top notch. Highly recommended staying here while visiting South Padre island.

We stayed on the peninsula which was outstanding. You do have to deal with other people fishing from your campsite. Wish they would enforce this a little better. Great site and will return.

Good stay! I little high on price

Stayed a week at one of the forward facing spots. It was fantastic having a patio and deck. It is very close to the jump area, since we don’t have young kids anymore this wasn’t necessary. But, if we had young kids it certainly would’ve been a bonus. Very attentive staff and clean campground. We will be back!!

Common areas: outdoor patios, rec room, laundry, and pool are all clean and well kept. Good views of ship channel, the bridge, sunsets, and SpaceX.

Everything was great. Staff was excellent. Easy bike to resturants, activities in town and of course the beach. Nice views. We plan on returning.

Our stay was AMAZING at the SPI KOA! We LOVE the new recreational room & sunset deck with the firepit. We had a party of 6 travel trailers & 2 cabins and the deck was the perfect spot to gather in a few evenings while our visit there. Lots of thanks to Doty, Nancy, Randy & especially to one of your staff members that helped us unclog our trailer on our last day. KOA SPI is the best place!!!

Great customer service from office and grounds staff. The location was breathtaking and my family and I were in amazement with all the amenities that were available for our use. Very highly recommended and we already made our next reservation in a month from now. Thank you!

Enjoyed the stay, very well kept park. One thing that always seems to be the norm in every park we visit, is that some guest refuse to keep their dogs on a leash. Don't know how to prevent that. Very annoying and frustrating. Especially when we keep our two little dogs on a leash at all times. So we just stay at parks that enforce their policies.

We really enjoyed the new waterfront site! It was beautiful. The nearby dog park was a bonus, and the wi-fi was speedy. We'll be back!

Had a great stay on the new addition

The peninsula sites are beautifully maintained, very modern patio furniture and the bay ocean view is magnificent. The price for a day stay is reasonable in today's economy. CONS: Not unusual for a KOA, wifi is terrible. Showers and public restrooms, not enough or close to these sites. No password codes to enter shower/restrooms, a security risk. Still, this location is worth staying.

Very pretty campsite. We got the last waterfront slot 306. Nice breeze, nice view of sunset on their rocker for two. Nice chairs to sit on. Apparently a lot of people like to fish in that side. There is a sign that they can't pass so they are not at your campsite, but they are close by. Once a family with 4 kids were loud. I was trying to enjoy the breeze and read. We had an issue that because we were a bit inclined down towards the water, our septic tubes were not angled enough. When we hooked up to leave, we moved trailer to street about 5 feet so we can do the dump. Lots of washers & dryers, small cold exercise room, I used treadmill once. They have a nice outdoor area outside of community center with a pretty gas fireplace. Pool looks nice, we didn't get in. Good Internet. They have 4 showers, with toilets. My gripe there is that there is no shade in the afternoon to wait for one to be open. At 4:30 pm, it was hot. I wouldn't mind a stand up umbrella out there. And I don't like how the shower water comes out to the toilet area. There is no shower lip and the shower curtain is short. They need a longer inside clear plastic liner maybe. Short drive to Isla Blanca Park. Cost $12 to get in. There is a nice long beach. They have a Pavilion with hot dogs, snacks & drinks. Another time we tried free Beach Access #4 because it had a restroom in the parking lot. But not much parking in these beach accesses, you have to go early. It's a 7 1/2 hr drive for us, so don't know if we'll go back, but we liked it. If we do, we might try a pull thru.

The KOA was nice whereas you are close to the beach. However, the sites are very tight. If you have a rig that is longer than 40 feet (our rig is 46 feet), avoid sites 114 to 116 (there may be more sites but these are the ones that we noticed). While they offer pull-thru ability, again, they are very tight. We were in site 116 and there is a palm tree that is growing almost sideways instead of straight up. This will pose a problem for any good size rig while pulling in. Another person had to come over and pull on the tree in order for us to pull the RV past the tree. This palm tree really needs to be cut down. Another reason parking in these particular sites are challenging is due to the amount of cars that park in the street. There are a lot of owners who will park their vehicles with half on their site and the other half hanging over in the street. This only adds to the tight feel of the park. Next time we visit, we will try the more expensive sites to see if that will be a difference. We were in one of the pull-thru sites with a patio and upgraded furniture. The price was $105 a night but the weekend is a bit more expensive and we paid $115 for Friday (we stayed from Sunday-Friday). The park offers a ton of activities, if you want to participate with any of that kind of stuff. My husband did visit the fitness center and said it was nice for what it is.
