A lovely you will maintain facility in a good location on the bay and a modest walk from the public beach. The pool was attractive and clean. The staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly. The Cabin was small, but adequate for two. A couple things didn’t work perfectly and they had very limited no plates or cutlery, but all in all, we were very happy with our choice and would stay here again.

The only complaint I have is the tv should be on the wall opposite the bed so you can watch it without getting a crick in your neck. Other than that, the stay was great.

LOVE the sites and views (very clean, great facilities, great staff). The only problem was the sewage smell from SPI’s waste facilities. So bad I almost threw up and we decided to leave a day early because of it. Do better SPI because you’re hurting a great business.

This is a pristine campground, the campgrounds are immaculate with palm trees and nice patios Thr staff is amazing, they are so helpful and friendly. Loys of things to do there and access to the beach and great food and entertainment nearby. We liked Dottie who always has a smile when you see her. She was very helpful to us. We have already reserved our site for next year,

From the reservations, check in to check out we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had ocean side camping with a fantastic patio. Lots of activities over the weekend and a great pool and easy access to town via bike trails throughout the week. SpaceX is right across the bay from us. My only suggestion , as they pick up your trash from your campsite, is to have set times for trash pickup. Birds.

We’ve been visiting SPI and staying at the KOA for nearly 10 years and it has evolved over the years! There have been so many awesome updates! While we were sad when Pier 19 burnt down, we are impressed with the new campsites. Upon arrival, there was a hiccup with the location of our campsite which was quickly remedied and after that, our stay was perfect! All of the employees rock!!

The RV lot that we rented was very spacious and near the water. It was quiet and all the facility was nearby. Trash pickup is just a simple matter of leaving it at the lot's edge and some staff will come by to pick it up. The same goes for propane bottle refill.

The best ADA site & facilities. Sewer smell & humidity a bit overwhelming a couple nights but that goes with island life. Property in amazing condition. Lots of friendly staff & amenities with good office hours & store offerings. Only suggestion is make it gated or add security. Some guy was cruising his truck with music blaring every hour the night we had to leave at 5am for a 7 hour drive !!!

It was our first visit to the South Padre Island KOA. We enjoyed our stay immensely; we won't stay anywhere else. I just text some friends of ours about your campground, and suggested that they should get a KOA login if they don't have one and stay at your KOA when they go to he island. Thank for the amenities and the cleanliness.

Always wonderful and our preferred RV stay place. This is a beautiful KOA and it surpasses any RV park that we've ever stayed at. Every time we come to South Padre we stay here because it's just so beautiful, everybody is so wonderful. Front desk and crew are the most fantastic people!

Park and staff are great, however I left there with an infestation of tiny ants in my motor home. When doing some work on my rig, I noticed them crawling around in the gravel/rocks. Later that day, I became aware they were inside my rig everywhere!! It seems the park could spray for the insects! I can't be the only one that has had this problem. For this reason, I could not recommend this KOA

Very enjoyable stay. Our site was a bit tight to get into but it was a pleasant site once parked. We will probably choose a site on the peninsula next time. The campground was close to many activities. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It would be nice to have a bigger dog park. Our dog loves to get out and run and this dog park was not large enough for her.

My family and I had a great get away. Very kid friendly they had activities for my 13 and 11 year old which they enjoyed. The KOA was nice and clean and very friendly. Highly recommend and we will be back.

The improvements completed since January 2025 are exceptional. The new waterfront sites are breathtaking. Also the Recreation building with Activity room, Laundry, Fitness room, and bathrooms/showers are wonderful. October Halloween activities for families was fun to watch. What can we say, we loved it all. Many thanks to the staff

I came to the South Padre Island KOA to watch the rocket launch. The view was amazing! I brought a large telescope to view the stars at night from 3:00am to 6:00am. The lights from the second floor of one of their buildings interfered with my view. I asked the staff if they could turn off the lights and they did the next night. Viewing conditions improved greatly. Kudos to the amazing staff!!!

I gave KOA SPI a 5 star rating, but there are a couple things I think need to be improved upon. We had spot 96 which was ok, but I really was uncomfortable hooking up the water/ sewer and electric. The connections were literally at our neighbors front door. Yuk! Second I'm not sure why there is a $25 holding fee if the reservation are made months prior. Rates are among the highest already.

hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Grounds are well maintained, pool clean and very nice. Excellent location and sites were functional and clean. Bathroom in East end showing wear; mens toilet handle is broke and you have to know how to "push in" vice toggle to make it work. Bathrooms were clean. Towel dispensers in women's restroom on east end were inoperable for the first few days.

Very pretty campsite. We got the last waterfront slot 306. Nice breeze, nice view of sunset on their rocker for two. Nice chairs to sit on. Apparently a lot of people like to fish in that side. There is a sign that they can't pass so they are not at your campsite, but they are close by. Once a family with 4 kids were loud. I was trying to enjoy the breeze and read. We had an issue that because we were a bit inclined down towards the water, our septic tubes were not angled enough. When we hooked up to leave, we moved trailer to street about 5 feet so we can do the dump. Lots of washers & dryers, small cold exercise room, I used treadmill once. They have a nice outdoor area outside of community center with a pretty gas fireplace. Pool looks nice, we didn't get in. Good Internet. They have 4 showers, with toilets. My gripe there is that there is no shade in the afternoon to wait for one to be open. At 4:30 pm, it was hot. I wouldn't mind a stand up umbrella out there. And I don't like how the shower water comes out to the toilet area. There is no shower lip and the shower curtain is short. They need a longer inside clear plastic liner maybe. Short drive to Isla Blanca Park. Cost $12 to get in. There is a nice long beach. They have a Pavilion with hot dogs, snacks & drinks. Another time we tried free Beach Access #4 because it had a restroom in the parking lot. But not much parking in these beach accesses, you have to go early. It's a 7 1/2 hr drive for us, so don't know if we'll go back, but we liked it. If we do, we might try a pull thru.

The KOA was nice whereas you are close to the beach. However, the sites are very tight. If you have a rig that is longer than 40 feet (our rig is 46 feet), avoid sites 114 to 116 (there may be more sites but these are the ones that we noticed). While they offer pull-thru ability, again, they are very tight. We were in site 116 and there is a palm tree that is growing almost sideways instead of straight up. This will pose a problem for any good size rig while pulling in. Another person had to come over and pull on the tree in order for us to pull the RV past the tree. This palm tree really needs to be cut down. Another reason parking in these particular sites are challenging is due to the amount of cars that park in the street. There are a lot of owners who will park their vehicles with half on their site and the other half hanging over in the street. This only adds to the tight feel of the park. Next time we visit, we will try the more expensive sites to see if that will be a difference. We were in one of the pull-thru sites with a patio and upgraded furniture. The price was $105 a night but the weekend is a bit more expensive and we paid $115 for Friday (we stayed from Sunday-Friday). The park offers a ton of activities, if you want to participate with any of that kind of stuff. My husband did visit the fitness center and said it was nice for what it is.
