The Santa Cruz KOA is clean and orderly, but privacy is lacking with sites packed close and very few trees. Wristbands are required in camp but can’t be removed, which is frustrating when going out to dinner or a party. It’s great for kids with activities and family focus, but less appealing for adults without children. Breakfast was overpriced at $15, low quality, and not worth the cost.

One of the best KOA's we have stayed at. So much for kids to do and keep them busy all day and just a short stroll to the beach.

Definitely a step down from the last time we visited. Our site had something wrong with the cable. Ended up not having working cable for the first day until they decided to splice to another spot. Many of the staff have attitude and they always say they are understaffed. Will definitely think twice before coming back

It was a great camping experience! Great place for the family. We had a spot by the jumping pillow, that spot worked out well for us.

Great location between Santa Cruz and Monterey, and two public beaches nearby. Large campground, with easily accessible sites, well-stocked store, and friendly/helpful staff.

Easy check, quiet hrs were well observed, dog parks were clean and well kept, public bathroom is clean, our site was easy in/out, and security measures were safe but not overbearing.

For the first time in 4 years, our stay was at times unpleasant. One evening we had a barking dog at the adjacent site for 1.5 hours. Two sites away thay had a constantly barking great dane puppy for 2 days. We did register a complaint for the barking puppy. one would think, with all the employees driving around in carts that they would notice the barking dogs. An outdoor TV was a nuisance adjacen

I was with the Santa Cruz Ukulele 'Burning Uke' group this weekend (8/9/25) and had a great time staying at your campground. The stage worked great for us and the grove added a nice extra space for secondary group meetings. We appreciated the variety of accommodations that worked well for our diverse group and many came from out of the area to attend. I think the guests liked it also. Thanks.

Wow this campground is really special, they have it all! My kids were so entertained with the amenities (bouncing pillow, play ground, fun events throughout our stay.)Also u can tell the people that work here take pride in taking care of the park! This is our second stay at Santa Cruz, Watsonville KOA. We had five of our grandchildren with us. They had a wonderful time. The sites are always very clean. The campground is very clean. Great staff, wonderful things for the kids to do. Very close to the beach. Not a far drive at all for you to go to the boardwalk and enjoy a day there. I would recommend this campground 100% to families even just

The staff was extremely nice and willing to help in any way,10 star staff. The facility was clean the only reason will will not be back most likely is the cost of $200 avg for a camping site. You can go 2 miles down the road to Sunset beach and its only $35 with running toilets and showers.

Everything was great as usual. We have been coming to camp since 1994. This time , however, at check in we arrived at 1 pm, ans usual. Our site was ready. We only have a passenger van not a SUV. The man at the desk wanted to charge $25 for an hour and said we had to leave the premises ( as if we would steal the tea service.). He was very unfriendly.

At registration/store I entered with my service dog. Sarah at the counter in a very load voice wanted to know what services he provided over the heads of at least 15 customers. Very embarrassing then told me to take him out. DJ also employee kept confirming also over the heads of customers. She would listen to what I was trying to tell her. I asserted my rights and stayed in the store to register.

The price is just getting too high. Too many barking dogs. The parking for the cabins on the left just as you come in is inadequate. Anyone with a full-size pick-up truck is sticking out into the roadway, making it difficult to leave with a rig. The dump station was also backed up with traffic making it difficult to leave. Check in time just keeps getting later and later. We did not re book.

We love it here. The only thing that needed more "regular" attention was the bathrooms in the laundry which is used by swimmers. Otherwise this is our favorite Kids zone!

We have come to this KOA for four years now and have enjoyed each visit however with the average cost per night of $187.50 and then additional charges for a tent overnight we feel that the rate is too high on a fixed income for seniors. There were also no additional discounts that could be given to us so unfortunately, next year we will not be able to afford to come to this nice campground.

The staff was very helpful. It was clean and I appreciate that they kept quiet time. The activities for kids are fantastic and just a short drive you are to the beach.

Such nice staff. The amenities for kids is fantastic. Our kids are 3y and 6y and it was so easy to just be right by the playground for them to play. So nice that they pick up your trash if left at the curb and also so nice to have firewood delivered to your site just by texting their text line. We booked for next year already!

We were disappointed to learn at check in that we weren’t neighbors with the other RV in our party despite requesting that in advance. The office staff explained the rationale and we understood but wished we had known in prior to arrival. They sent a bundle of firewood and a fire starter to each site as an apology which was appreciated. We ended up having a great stay and we will likely go back.

Loved the place but should have been told about the Ticks being known in the trees. My trailer, my self, my daughter and my granddaughter all had Ticks attached to us and found 5 in my trailer. Thank you for letting us move

Nice place to camp. Lots of kids focused activities. The showers were not cleaned often enough and was missing some shelves in some. Close to 2 state beaches if you want to leave the campground and explore. Monterey and Santa Cruz are short drives.

Always a great place to celebrate our annual Memorial Day weekend with grandkids. There are plenty of activities for kids. If you just want to get away for a weekend or a week its a campground I will continue to go to.

Rooms? They have cabins here. And campgrounds for RVs and tents. Everything is clean and well- maintained. Service? They didn't wait on me, but they sure know how to provide a great family environment! Train rides for kids, activities, heated swimming pool, playgrounds, jumping pillows!! They do specials on the weekends for meals, but we didn't take advantage of that. Location? Closer to Santa Cruz than Monterey, but it's the bike riding accessibility that mattered most to me. Nice country road by the campground, leads into towns either direction. Took the Pacific Coast bike trail in two directions on two different days. Very nice!( I had to get used to California drivers and designated bike paths, though.) Lots of places to ride a bike from this KOA!! I'd come back to California from Pennsylvania just to stay here again. 😊
