Meet Your Hosts

Jeff Gooch

Welcome to the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay KOA!

Jeff and Judy Gooch came into the KOA family when they opened the Tucson Lazydays KOA in 2013 and in 2015, took on a new KOA adventure at the Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA. In the beginning Jeff and Judy desired to become part of the campground industry. Today, 5 years later, it's their passion. In 2017, Jeff was awarded the COP Manager of the Year. It is an honor that he will never forget! Santa Cruz is a very challenging property, but they would not trade it for any other campground. Being part of the KOA family, just feels right to them, like they belong together. “We have always had a lot of pride in exceeding customer's expectations of service, going above and beyond,” said Jeff. “We both want every camper to leave our campground with the knowledge that they were important.”

Jeff's background in accommodations started in the vacation club industry in Oregon before becoming a regional director of resort operations, overseeing 11 resorts around the country. When not on the campground, Jeff enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and exploring the great outdoors. Before Judy started working alongside Jeff in and around the resort, she was a caregiver for the elderly and also spent many years in wildlife rehabilitation caring for injured animals and doing educational school programs. Judy has a great passion for life, enjoys meeting new people, gardening, writing, hiking, cooking and chocolate.
