The cabin and grounds were clean and and well maintained. There were lots of activities and the staff was very nice and helpful.

We brought our two young Grand boys to stay for a weekend and they had SO much FuN!! Well kept, clean restrooms, clean campground, fun playground and Bouncer. They enjoyed the warm pool and they loved the 'Fun Train'. They rode it once, but the line was too long on Saturday, so they had just as much fun riding their bikes behind the train, parade style.

Or cabin 210 was quite dirty (smelled like feet, floor hadn't been swept). Ok if you're expecting to camp, but every other koa we've stayed at the cabins were in much better condition. The grounds were great!

Facility is great, huge pool and hot tub, very clean campsites, friendly staff. Coming in on Thursday was fantastic and quiet. Friday, however, was very very loud; the kids train, the movie night at the pool, the music, too much, not to mention the other campers music everywhere (even in the showers). I can see why families like the entertainment, but for me it was too much.

This is the best KOA in Northern California! We have stayed here a few times before - even in the off season, there’s lots for the kids to do. The location is great for the beach and nearby attractions. We love the camp store and the employees are super friendly!

Campground was fine and staff person at gate was exemplary. But I arrived an hour and a half before check-in, having gotten an early start from where I'd been before, and was told I could only be admitted by payment of an extra $20 and, furthermore, couldn't park anywhere on-site to await the 2 o'clock check-in. So I had to leave, drive away for lunch, and return at the magic hour. Maddening.

We didn’t have a chance to utilize the things on campus, due to all our tourist goals. It was accessible to Big Sur, and it was a great place to camp in the evenings. What we would request improvement on the deluxe cabin is that included linens could have included more blankets for the cooler nights. We had some very responsive staff and the cabin was well stocked in the small kitchen.

We had a great time, although we stayed during a pacific thunderstorm. The power went out; but the KOA folks were fantastic, they sent us updates from PG&E and they had golf carts running around all night making sure the sewer lines were clear and flooding did not occur. It was a crazy couple of days but the people of this KOA are top notch. We hope to stay again.... maybe with some sunshine! :)

Stayed here over the weekend in April 2026 and would not recommend staying on Friday of Saturday night. The place is packed and very loud with at night. We had a group near us that stayed up past 1:00 am both nights. That said the place is well maintained and has a lot of activities for the kids. All the amenities are nice and the WIFI was great. The store is well stocked but spendy.

Delightful campground. It was immaculate, kid friendly, dog friendly, and had wonderful trails for hiking or strolling. It is well located between Monterey and Santa Cruz, and a short distance to the beach. The staff is helpful and friendly, we felt very welcome and will most certainly return.

The place is like a mini amusement park where it has a little bit of everything that makes you stay in the compound. Amenities and grounds are very well maintained and the Staff are very professional, accommodating and best of all, they were the most FRIENDLIEST staff me and my group ever dealt with in the area! Kudos to the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay KOA! You made our stay extra special! See you!

We had an incredible stay. Rain was a little more than expected our first day but we ended up having the entire tent area to ourselves. The staff was great, pool and hot tub were clean, restrooms were cleaned and regularly maintained. The GM Andy is incredible. Stopped in personally to check on our family, and I can tell he cares very much about his KOA. We look forward to returning asap.

We have been here a few times before few years ago and enjoyed our stay here. The only complaint We had that the WIFI was very crappy. This time the Wi-fi was very strong and very fast. We could even stream videos.

Very nice clean campsite, well maintained, nice sized spots, we've been to over 30 KOA's. Prices are a bit much we just come for the area and are barely at our campsite so the added fees for activities are a waste of money. We wanted to extend one more night but bc it was a Friday you wanted to double our rate and we would have had to move.

We received excellent service from the staff at the time of reservations until time of check out. Upon arrival they helped us change our cabin number to one closer to some friends that were in RV's with smiles on their faces. The facility has amazing amenities and is kept spotless. The best KOA we have ever visited.

Santa Cruz Koa is AMAZING! It is one of our favorite places and family traditions we love to go every year . We have been staying there since 2016 for 10 years now. The owner and staff are awesome! Wish we could go more often, Can’t wait until next time!

Every staff member we encountered was friendly and engaging! The cabin we stayed in was clean and frankly adorable. The "dive in" movie was genius. My kiddo had an absolute blast watching a movie while swimming. The only bad part about our stay was having to leave...wish we booked a full week!

Beautiful campground and so well cared for, with lots of fun things to do. We enjoyed the bocci ball court. Great areas for dogs. The staff was very kind and helpful. Site are ver clean and easily accessible. One of the best KOAs we've stayed at.

We absolutely love our local KOA. The staff are all very friendly, especially the manager Andy. There are so many fun activities that our toddler is never bored. We will be back soon!

THIS is how you do family camping! Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay KOA during our family trip down the California coast, and what a wonderful experience! Traveling with kids and a large RV can be an adventure all on its own, so finding a campground that genuinely makes families feel welcome is worth its weight in gold. From the friendly communication to the fun, family-oriented atmosphere, this KOA reminded us exactly why we love traveling this way. The Halloween activities were such a fun addition to our trip, and we appreciated the thoughtful text communication that helped us feel informed and welcome. What really makes a campground special isn't just the location or amenities. It's the people, the atmosphere, and those little details that turn an ordinary overnight stay into a family memory. We travel because we want our kids to experience new places, have adventures, and make memories together.
