Campground Reviews

Our stay was great. We’ve been camping for about 5 years. There’s a few things that we feel could be helpful—-train rides-they need to run more than an hour. For the littlest campers the train is a highlight. E bikes/vehicles-children that were riding them were often dangerous. They are speeding around and not paying attention and almost hitting people. Lastly, games for kids should be free.

I’m disappointed this KOA has become more about profit than providing a great camping experience. I’ve attended the Halloween weekend for 8+ years, and prices have nearly doubled with a 3-night minimum—unrealistic for working families. Charging to go through the maze just to reach the costume contest was absurd. Loyal campers miss the community focus this campground once had.

This place has changed over the years. We have been going here for over 10 years but will not be returning next year. The cost has significantly gone up, no upgrades have been done. Management is becoming more controlling. This used to be a fun place to go for Halloween but not anymore. We will be finding a new spot going forward.

We enjoyed the cabin rental had a good nights sleep.

We had a great Halloween weekend—staff was welcoming and activities were fun! The only issue was being placed near full-time campers or workers who didn’t decorate and disrupted the festive vibe. Their loud vehicles left at 3am and 6am daily, which awakened us and defeated the purpose of quiet hours. A separate area might help.

Things have changed over the years and not all for the better. The nightly cost is pretty steep and not including all activities is not right. A prize used to be given for each of the different lodging choices (rv, lodge, cabin), sad they combined iy into just 1 prize. This was the 1st year to be charged for a tent on an RV site. Never had an issue before, especially when we were below 6 pp.

So much fun enjoying the Halloween festivities! Really appreciate the option to buy food at the camp instead of bringing food. We'll be back again next year!

Great customer service

Kids/teens running around and yelling after midnight on Thursday night, and found beer bottles and trash next to our campsite the next morning. While walking, almost got hit once from a scooter and then a bike. Kids seemed out of control Thursday evening/night.

We’ve been coming here for the Halloween weekend for the past 11 years and we have never been mistreated the way we did by the KOA security. One specific security members came to our campsite saying he was hearing what were saying about a strange comment he said earlier to us saying “ he loved us”. He called my wife a”home girl” ask her if she has something to say. Extremely unprofession

Upon arriving things didn't go as expected or planned with the cabin I was staying in due to attendees mistakes. KOA staff and management made sure that everything worked out. It's a great place the only thing that I suggest is that they get more staff to maintain the it's not the staff it's just how people can be. I'll be coming back!!

2 couples with 2 dogs. I made the reservations 6 months in advance for a 2 bedroom cabin. We got a cabin with 1 bedroom with a queen bed and a small "closet" with 2 tiny bunk beds shoved in. We had a small love seat in the living room. It was very uncomfortable for the pri e we paid. One couple used the bedroom and one person used the loveseat while the other person used the bottom bunk. Poor.

The kids had a blast!

all Kids Programm that is asvertised only takes place on weekends, so we didn’t get a single piece of it. A 20$ additional charge was taken for a „guaranteed site“ because of my note in the booking of a preferred area to stay on the campground which was more or less empty on these days, not very customer oriented.

Close to Santa Cruz. Easy access to beaches. Friendly staff and clean park. So many activities available for kids!

Great landscaping, beach is walkable distance, DoorDash and Uber friendly location. Very safe with security and wristbands and different measures they take. Hot tub and heated pool was great!

This is the second year we stayed in Studio cabin 240. Last year was fine, this year the mattress was awful. You sunk in the middle. I ended up having to sleep in the bunk bed because only one person could sleep in the bed. I have reserved the same cabin for next year and hope you purchase a new mattress.

It was nice just the security guards were very aggressive this year. Also, not being able to get my door dash on a Sunday evening when the whole campsite downsized by 50% was also strange.

The first night we had no heat, but they did fix it the next day. I also think the price is out of control. It was around $650-$700 for 2 nights and for just a room (no bathroom inside) it’s not worth it. I love the Halloween event, but I’d rather stay at a nice hotel for that amount and get a room with sheets and a bathroom. I love the event but don’t like the inflated prices.

Bathrooms were not stocked on Saturday evening/night nor were they kept cleaned. Pricing is starting to be unaffordable.

We spent 5 nights. The grounds and facilities were very well cared for and tastefully designed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

As always, we had a fun time and all of the workers at the KOA were very friendly and helpful! Kathleen, the lady who drove the train was one of the best train drivers I have ever seen and I have been coming to the KOA for 40 years. She made the train ride really exciting and fun for the kids and the adults!

Great Halloween stay as always. We do wish trick-or-treating would start later, as everything looks better at night! Great job to all the staff.

I would never tell anyone to go there. We have been going for over 20 years and now you pull up and they don’t want you to go in the store to check in. Took our payment through our RV window and gave no instructions or emails on when to register for next year. I called yesterday to find out how this works and they gave away our spot and the guy in the phone could care less.

It’s was fun. Grounds were nice and clean

Lovely staff and super friendly playground with activities for all ages. Bathrooms could use a little more attention—door slams, slow sink drain, and sometimes out of toilet paper. More frequent checks on busy days would make it perfect!

Cheerfully came out to fix my electric hookup in a driving rain. In addition, all employees were cheery and nice. It's a beautiful place, too.

Pricing keeps increasing a lot each year and it’s becoming to be way overpriced for what we are getting. Each year it seems there are no extra activities for the extra amount that we are paying

Nice place to camp. Lots of kids focused activities. The showers were not cleaned often enough and was missing some shelves in some. Close to 2 state beaches if you want to leave the campground and explore. Monterey and Santa Cruz are short drives.

Always a great place to celebrate our annual Memorial Day weekend with grandkids. There are plenty of activities for kids. If you just want to get away for a weekend or a week its a campground I will continue to go to.

Rooms? They have cabins here. And campgrounds for RVs and tents. Everything is clean and well- maintained. Service? They didn't wait on me, but they sure know how to provide a great family environment! Train rides for kids, activities, heated swimming pool, playgrounds, jumping pillows!! They do specials on the weekends for meals, but we didn't take advantage of that. Location? Closer to Santa Cruz than Monterey, but it's the bike riding accessibility that mattered most to me. Nice country road by the campground, leads into towns either direction. Took the Pacific Coast bike trail in two directions on two different days. Very nice!( I had to get used to California drivers and designated bike paths, though.) Lots of places to ride a bike from this KOA!! I'd come back to California from Pennsylvania just to stay here again. 😊
