Enjoy the unimpeded view of the Blue Mountains while relaxing by the propane fire on our clubhouse patio, treat yourself to an ice cream or a cold drink from our onsite Kampstore, take a jaunt down the hill to the historical town of Pendleton with its myriad of intriguing offerings... Pendleton owes its establishment to the Oregon Trail emigrants of the 1840s, who traveled across the rugged Blue Mountains to reach the West. Today, those same rugged mountains and the beautiful Columbia River are just minutes from your comfortable base camp at this Journey KOA. Spend the day exploring Pendleton's charming galleries and shops or the world-famous Pendleton Woolen Mills, which has been distributing locally made blankets and tapestries since 1909. Don't miss the Pendleton Underground Tours. Nearby, the Wildhorse Resort & Casino hosts many renowned entertainers and events throughout the year. Home to the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the Pendleton area is rich in history and culture. Why: Your stay will make a difference in the lives of children with cancer, by helping raise funds for medically supervised Care Camps across North America. These camps give kids with cancer a chance to attend a summer camp and just be a kid again. Funds raised from the Saturday, May 11 campground donation support the KOA Care Camps Trust, which distributes more than $1 million annually to support 125+ Care Camps.
