Tent Reviews

We were not aware of how windy the Desert Hot Springs area is. This may not be an issue at other times of the year but it ruined the experience. We booked a single tent site stating that we had 4 adults and 1 child. We were told upon arrival that "due to safety" we were only allowed 2 tents on the site. That was either not disclosed during booking or not obvious. It was problem.

Unfortunately the game room and mini golf both need some maintenance, but our kids enjoyed both. Very friendly staff.

I just love it here!!!! I have stayed here multiple times. All sites have electric, the huge dog park is great, and the staff is the best!! I hope they have an opening tonight!!!

Electricity and water availability on tent sites were a plus, but the restrooms could be cleaned more often and toiletries refilled as well.

Bad Wifi, Laudryrooms: in 1 room 3 out of 4 washers out of order, in the other room 3 dryers out of order, only 1 working. Restrooms not very clean. Nice campingspot, Did not try the pool but looked good.

Clean bathrooms, awesome hot tubs, fun amenities, clean campground. I would have given a much better review but there are workers spraying Round- up a known cancer causing agent around all the campsites to kill weeds. This was very alarming. Please stop spraying this deadly poison.

Lovely community with everything listed perfectly on the map.

The campground is beautiful and it has a lot of amenities! Specially great for children, since they have different fun activities for them. Everything was great, very clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside was the WiFi connection. It worked perfectly fine in the front office area, but it was completely lost in the tent site.

We’ve stayed here many times. We brought a new group of friends this time. I’m so happy they got a Glamping tent because the wind is out of control if you just have a regular tent. Since you never know if it’s going to be super windy.

Loved the location and ammenities. So, much to do in the resort! I was surprised by the attention to detail. I received a text for express check-in the day of my stay, check-in was fast, and the front desk ladies were super nice. They even offer to escort us to our camp site. That was incredible service!

Nice facility, great staff. Definitely a holiday quality experience. Tent sites were basic but bigger than I expected. I know it’s the desert so shrubs are difficult to grow between sites. So I appreciated the larger sites.

Nice clean campground with very friendly people.

Just a small problem. I was a late checkin at a tent site and my paper had no codes for the restrooms. Fortunately my tent neighbors had the code so all was well.

Great campground, great staff, very clean. Great mineral springs!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful in anything we needed. Great experience!

The biggest concern most people have are bathrooms. I would say the bathrooms were very nice and clean. The contact communication via text was also a nice touch. There was some mix up with my reservation, but Joannie Stevens, the grounds manager handled it professionally and swiftly. I would go again once the weather gets better.

I camped (tentsite) one night with my 1.5 year old daughter. It was a Friday night. Things I liked: Lots of activities: train, jump pad, rock climb, 'train', mini-golf, swimming, movie night and evening BBQ. Bathrooms clean Things to improve: A lot of the amenities were old and could be renovated: the mini-golf was very tattered, the playground could be expanded with infant swing, etc.

We enjoyed our stay but for 2 things: tent site 188 picnic table needs replacing as it was very rough and splintered. The utility sink around the corner needs a sign encouraging people to clean up their mess and leave it tidy. Also, the drain pipe was disconnected and the faucet loose, which my husband fixed after his feet got wet. Unfortunately, common courtesy must be reminded!

The pool and hot tubs were nice and mini golf and different other activity rooms and pickle ball were also great. Tent camping was a little close to neighbor and not very pretty . Check Ana out process was easy.

I really enjoyed soaking in the naturally heated pool, and spring fed hot tubs. There looked like tons of activities for families beyond that as well.
Nov 23, 2022
The only thing I don't like, they charge me $10 extra to use the pool after 11am, last time I was there they don't charge me
Nov 23, 2022
Very well overall, great facilities and tent area. Only comment is Glammer tent ECO runs aircon all night. Rest of campsite is no noise

Enjoyed all the amenities….hot showers, big camp space, hot tub, heated pool, friendly camp employees and wonderful camp neighbors

People took our reserved spot so we had to move to a different location.

A family friendly KOA with great options for the kiddos. My one major complaint is the bathrooms - it says they are cleaned throughout the day, but they did not appear to have been cleaned our entire three night stay. Too bad, because otherwise it is a great spot.

We arrived yesterday (March 10/23). We're here for 2 nights, maybe 3. Within 15 minutes of arrival, I was in the pool, and then the hottub. The pool was too warm for my liking, but the hottub was heavenly. The pool was 5' at its deepest, which was fine for me. I liked how that felt, very kid friendly/family oriented. It was very large. There were 3 large hottubs located behind the pool, side by side, each had a 15 min timer on the wall. The jets were powerful, at least in the hottub I used, the one on the far left if you're facing them. Bonus: I got the hottub to myself. I was able to have my shower afterward right there as they have a large washroom with 2 showers. Everything is older feeling and could use a face-lift (eg., fresh paint, etc.), but more importantly, everything felt clean. Oh, I should mention the pool showers for both men and women. The water would oscillate between hot and cold. It's kind of annoying 🙄 but we worked around it. It's just a lot of fiddling with the taps. PS the showers are included in your camping fee. Only 2 of the washers were working in the laundry room. We were told they've been having ongoing problems with them. Nonetheless, we were happy to get our laundry done in the functioning washers. We were placed in a backup 30amp site against a long row of pretty tall trees. The larger RVs on either side of us felt closer than we would have liked. The dog park was located close by, which we appreciated. I think they have 2 dog parks here. Both off-leash, of course. Checking in was very efficient. We had reservations, and we f/u with their 'express check-in' via email prior to arriving. It all felt easy and quick. The camp hostess was at the front desk when we arrived, and she was awesome in explaining everything about the facility. So far, we're finding it VERY windy here at times, so be sure to remember to batton down the hatches. Pull in those awnings, etc., should you leave the campground to go into town. Put away your chairs, etc. The wind gusts can be seriously vicious. I had concerns that it was going to rip our tent fabric on our trailer. We haven't had any of the meals offered here yet (for a fee), but we can smell the bacon and pancake syrup at our campsite. Delish smelling!!! 😆 Per Google Maps, we're a 22 min drive from Palm Springs. There's also a Costco about the same distance away. Having just camped for 4 nights at Joshua Tree National Park, we found this place noisy. Mind you, the silence is deafening at Joshua Tree, and this place is more city located, so it's probably not a fair comparison. It wasn't horrible by any means. For us, we always know if we truly like a place if we'd be willing to come back, and the answer is 'yes' we'd come back here. Overall, it's very inkeeping with the KOA vibe if you're familiar with the franchise. For us, the big draw was the location.

KOA is surrounded by stunning mountains and scenery, a beautiful spot. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Spotless glamping tent, toilet, sink, fluffy towels, heating, comfy bed. Spotlessly clean, lovely decking area with bbq and seating. We used the communal block for a shower which was good. Heated swimming pool and hot springs pool, be aware they can be hot. Food offered on site was ok, basic - hot dogs and burgers offered when we visited. Location is approx 45 mins to Joshua tree National Park west entrance. Palm Springs is close by.
