Campground Reviews

Great campground! There is a huge recreation area with tons to do. We stayed with our 33 foot motorhome on a pull-through site and our site was level and in great condition. The campground is right next to Fantasy Island (we came in early April, so the park was not open yet). There are shops nearby for food and ice cream.

We were there for the 2024 Solar Eclipse. To ensure two side-by-side sites, we booked in mid ‘23, as soon as reservations opened. Bob was more than helpful throughout the entire year between booking and arriving, answering questions about hookups, pulling in, transportation, etc. The campground was beautiful, large sites, plenty for all 14 of us to do, with easy access to the border and falls.

Given that this was the first weekend and the Solar Eclipse event we thought it went very well. Just a lack of cable and no heat in the shower/restroom area were the only minor complaints.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Island KOA. We rented a cabin to visit the falls and view the total solar eclipse. The campground is beautiful with lots of amenities, and there are restaurants and shops within easy driving (or biking) distance from the KOA. We were there too early in the season to appreciate the pools, but this would be a great place for a warm-weather stay.

I was so happy with our cabin! We had trouble with our lock but after texting the front desk, someone quickly came and fixed it.

All was great at this KOA except the water pressure and the availability of major television channels. None of these issues caused us any hardship and we recommend all our camping buddies if going to Buffalo,NY or Niagara Falls to stay at this KOA for the best camping experience.

Grand Island KOA/total solar eclipse April 8, 2024. The staff/fantastic! Grounds clean and the sites spacious. We brought our RV had a full hookup backin. Kids playground/A+, baths clean. Short drive to American side of Niagara Falls (Goat Island!!) Grand Island KOA is peaceful, and beautiful. Both American and Canadian sides of Niagara Falls are beautiful, but the American side is more natural

Very nice cabins, would have given 5 stars if the bathrooms weren't such an issue. The ones closest to me there 4 and 2 of them were out of order and the other 2 kept being locked out

This was our second time staying here! As always very clean, and friendly- They handled the eclipse with grace, for sure. There were some closed bathrooms but it didn’t impact our stay as the others were always super clean and wait was minimal to no wait at all. We’ll be back!!

The most kind staff! I was there tent camping the weekend of the eclipse and they were very busy. Bathrooms were clean, garbage was picked up as scheduled and the campsite was spotless. Plus it's a really great location for visiting the falls either in US or Canada. Just an overall great trip.

The staff were all incredibly kind and friendly. I would stay here again if I was going to Niagara Falls, but it would not be my destination if I was solely going for a camping experience. This KOA was very "community" camping, which is completely fine if that's your favorite way to camp, but I like more traditional type of campgrounds surrounded more by nature.

Had a great time. Everyone in the office was super friendly. Site was huge for a pull through. Got invited to the Moose Lodge next door to watch a Tom Petty tribute band. Learning to Fly. They were awesome. So we're the people at the Moose. Please pass on our thanks to Gary and Molly and the rest!

No water for 5.5 hours. No heads up to get water before they randomly turned it off right before dinner.

The campground opened early to accommodate visitors for the solar eclipse on 4/8/24. The staff was very friendly. It's conveniently located less than 15 minutes from Niagara Falls State Park. The sites are pretty close to each other, but there were very few campers when we were there. As a heads up, if you plan to buy firewood there, it's $12 a bundle. I'm used to paying $7 to $8 at KOA's.

We stayed at this campground when a friend was hospitalized nearby. This campground provided a safe and quiet base for the days of our stay. When our first site was not very level, Martin came with his golfcart and offered us two other alternatives. The most proactive response ever! We loved the Halloween weekend activities, they were low-key, yet fun for everyone.

We really liked having the separate pet area for our puppies. The proximity of the campground was convenient to getting to the Fslks and to other hiking areas.

Camp Ground was great. The holes that the dust was great. A lot of information. All the workers are friendly kind and gave you a lot of information if you needed it.

Fantastic KOA.. very friendly staff! Easy check in/out. Rented a cabin for three nights in early April, C35, it's right on the small pond. Great view, and close to everything the campground offers. Lots of activities- playgrounds, jumping pad thing for the kids, ping pong, basketball, paddle boats, pools. The cabin was perfect for us. It had heat and tv (not that you need tv, but it was nice to have the option). This place is a couple minutes from Buffalo, and ten minutes drive from Niagara falls. There is an amusement park right next door to the KOA, but it wasn't open, it was probably just too early in the season, but it looks like it'd be fun. The cons of this particular cabin (and definitely not a deal breaker, because I would absolutely stay in this one again) were A) where you park, you'd think you would be able to walk in from the little porch that's right there by the parking area, but there's no gate to get onto the porch, so you have to walk around to the other side of the cabin to get up the stairs into the deck to get in. It just made moving stuff in and out a little annoying. B) watch your head!!!!!! I must have hit my head about a dozen times on the little roof overhang while walking up and down the deck stairs. I had to hang paper towels as markers so I'd see them and not hit my head... (They didn't really help!) C) this won't always apply, but the ground was muddy, so it was slippery at the bottom of the stairs from the deck. I was just concerned for my 68 year old mom, didn't want her to slip and get hurt. I asked the lovely people in the office if there was anything they can do about that, so they sent a gentleman over in a golf cart, and he took care of it. He returned with a door mat, and they put down some rocks, and it helped. So, really nothing but good things about this KOA. Oh yeah, my son is 10, and had the best time... He asked if we can go back- I do plan to return!

Ok, I'm not one to post reviews, but in the case of this wonderful place, I couldn't NOT do so. We came to the buffalo area to take care of some family business. My son Alan and I drove up from the Raleigh area in a newly acquired older RV. Our trip up was not fun as on the way we broke an exhaust manifold and also literally blew out of it socket a spark plug. We called to alert we would be later than expected, and they set us up with their night time check in. We got in, and the weather was miserable. Raining hard. The spot we had was very wet and saturated. Alan asked if we could move, and they told us to go look for a spot that we liked and let them know. We chose a spot, and they cleared us to move there. After having found a place to fix our RV after finding out its actual problem through other mechanics, we found a place that said they would take on the job, BUT we would need to leave it with them a day or two. We called the office to tell them of our need, and they offered us a cabin on-site at an amazing price to stay while our RV was in repair. Let me tell you, everybody, their cabins are amazing too. I'm sorry I was long-winded on this, but I wanted to explain the context of what we were going through and how they supported us every step of the way. We will return there every single time now and hope the weather is better next time. If MY so Alan and I could give 100 stars, we would. And to the campground from both of us THANK YOU!!! You gave us such uplifting from all our other things. You can never know how much it truly meant to us With gratitude, Wayne & Alan Ross
