The location was perfect for all my planned activities and the staff were friendly and helpful. I loved having the pool/hot tub for afterward unwinding, however, it would be nice to extend the pool hours beyond 8PM as my other KOA stays the pool was open till 10PM.

Easy to reserve a tent space online. Fine facility with very friendly and helpful staff. Spent 3 nights and really enjoyed our time.

The reason for our stay was to spend funds raised for camping with a girl scout troop. We absolutely had the time of our lives! All staff we encountered was polite and accommodating. We could not believe all there was to do at the campground - and no one wanted to leave at the end of the stay. It so far exceeded our expectations. We are local, but I personally will be making a point to return.

The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The activities were wonderful for our kids. When Thunder storms came in the staff was great at communicating to campers about safety. Only issue was our campsite had a ton of tree roots and hard to make a good place to set up a tent. But I know this isnt something that can be changed.

Lisa at the front desk was amazing! Showers and bathrooms were clean and very well-kept! Didn’t love our tent site being right by the pond- lots and lots of goose poop

We stayed for 3 days in the tent site on the hill. This place is Amazing! They have so much for the kids to do and for the entire family. We are already planning our next stay. The pool with the hot tub was a huge bonus. Its a beautiful place with some Amazing views.

Great place, lots to do and see! The only thing I wish for was a sidewalk from campsites 30-36 to the bathroom and not a long road around all the RV’s!

It was amazing! The only thing I would add is a walkway between rv site's to the bathroom that's close to tent camping. Other than that, everything was fabulous!

Great place to stay right next to Mt. Rushmore. Easy Access to Needles Highway. Near to Keystone and Hill City. Friendly Staff. Lots of Activities onsite as well.

We loved our short stay! The facilities were clean and up to date and there was so much to do we almost changed our plans and stayed one more night so we could do more but it just gives us a reason to come Back.

Site and location were great! Staff were friendly. The pool was filthy and crowded! The slide and mini golf are old but were fun enough. Playground was okay as were the giant chess and checkers boards.

Great people! Helpful and friendly. Too many people for me. Also, not enough bathrooms and I would have appreciated a bench or shelf in the showers, but they were too small dor that.

All workers were nice. Even with the campground pool closing a few times we were grateful for another to go to during the heatwave. After multiple years of coming I still don’t understand why there’s zero shade around the pool or kids play areas and other locations. It was a topic of conversation for many of us. Otherwise another great clean stay.

This place exceeded our expectations! With everything they have to offer you never have to leave. It was the perfect location for everything we wanted to do in the area. The staff is attentive and friendly. We can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic resort. Great amenities and so much to do for every age group and demographic! We would absolutely stay there again. The only thing I’d love to see added is ventilation in the shower rooms - getting out of the shower, immediately starting to sweat in the humidity, and then trying to get dressed was not the most enjoyable. Otherwise, excellent resort, highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our tent stay at Palmer Gulch! We had a few run-ins with some determined geese, but the maintenance team was quick, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The resort has great amenities and is an excellent base for exploring the Black Hills. My only suggestion: consider adding shade to campsites without mature trees to make hot summer days more comfortable.

Very large campground and very busy and bustling. They have a lot of amenities but not a lot of bathrooms. Our tent site was nice and clearly marked but a far down and uphill walk from the restrooms and showers and not enough of either for a full campground. The restaurant was nice and the location is great.

We had a fantastic stay. You all do a great job keeping the facilities nice and running activities. I would also like to give a shout out to the gal that checked us in. I cannot remember her name, but I know her husband works there as well. All I can say is that she was awesome. A wonderful, friendly and helpful person. I never met her husband, but I'm sure she is much better! :)

Our family enjoys staying at Palmer Gulch KOA when we visit the Black Hills. It is very close to Mt. Rushmore and other attractions. There is so much for the children to do, and the staff is very friendly and helpful! We are now bringing our grandchildren to experience what their parents did!

We were there July 2-6th. All the staff were lovely. We were impressed at how often the bathrooms were cleaned and with the updated showers. Loved the chuckwagon and trail rides. I understand it was the 4th of July, but it was just so crowded and loud. Our tent was 6 feet (or less) from the tents on either side of us, 6 feet from the cabin behind us, and 2 feet from the road.

The grounds were beautiful and there was so much to do but there was a lot of trash on the property and the showers have a lot of mold.

Wonderful friendly service, the campground was very clean, play area for the children provided plenty of different activities, at times made it difficult to pull them away. I enjoyed the covered wagon steak dinner and cowboy show and would recommend that highly. Well stocked gift shop. A Perfect vacation for 3 generations of my family.

We had an RV Site and a group tent site. Both sites were clean, the RV Site had a grill, concrete patio and a nice table & chairs. The hookups were good �.

We always have a perfect stay at Palmer Gulch. Check in is easy and the front desk staff have always been helpful. We also like that there's a coffee shop, ice cream shop, pools, amenities galore, and really clean bathrooms! It's like camping but with bonuses

This jam packed KOA has it all. 2 pools. Waterslide. Playgrounds. Restaurants on the property. Horseback riding. Rodeo. UTV rentals. Lots of activities for the kids. Bounce pillow. It's right down the road from Mount Rushmore. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly. Cell phone reception is pretty poor, but you can't blame KOA. WiFi is pretty good if you are near their hotspots. There was always KOA employees ripping around, which they should slow down a little bit. We did experience the bees as mentioned by other reviewers. Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed our stay.

Great first experience with KOA! The reservation process was easy, and changing our dates was very convenient. Communication with Dee Dee before arrival was excellent, and check-in was quick and easy. The campground was clean, especially the bathrooms, and all the guests were very respectful. The sites are a little close together, so I would probably avoid the busy summer season. Overall, we were very impressed and would definitely stay here again!
