Were told that no tent hookup spots available, but the entire big tent area with hookups was completely empty. We FROZE both nights due to no power. Showers full of black mold, discoloring the wood and all over the ceiling. Store prices out of control $12 for eggs, $14 for bacon. Wash and dry was expensive too! 25 cents for a mere 5 minutes of drying time. Everything was closed except playgrounds.

Great place for the fun of camping without the downside of camping. Not a place for a solitary wilderness experience. Staff are friendly and I had great neighbors.

This was an amazing stay and probably the largest koa or campground ever that we’ve stayed at. Such an amazing time and very clean facility!

Greeted by the friendliest people. After show my camp site. I walked to the store to get ice and beer�. One of the camp ground attendants gave me a ride back to my site in his golf cart. Excellent service.

We rented a tent camp site with electric and a covered picnic table. It was very nice. The only improvement I’d like to recommend is there could be a few more trash containers. Other than that, it was very good!

Good customer service at check in but the campground is too busy for my liking. Also, our tent site was ‘deluxe’ but right next to the laundry with a loud machine of some sort running throughout the night and the KOA vans constantly in and out of the driveway often driving to fast.

When we arrived we were stunned by how pretty everything around the KOA was. But the water in the sauna was brown. The shower houses by our site were disgusting. Hair, water and a strong urine smell. I also wanted to use the wifi and I could never get connected which was a big reason we booked the tent site for $60… The workers were all very kind but for the price we didn't feel satisfied.

I love KOA, I even have a rewards membership. This location is so big that the person checking us in didn't know where our camp was. This koa doesn't deliver firewood... every koa I have ever been to delivers firewood. The entire resort ran out of ice. The thing this location did well was charge for services that every other koa gives for free, and overcharge.resort is right you think you a Disney

Nice resort with many things to do and see around there. I was on a motorcycle pulling a small trailer and the camp spot where I camped was on a gravel road and up hill. Was a little difficult to get into. The spot was used quit a lot as the grass was not longer growing where people pitched there tent. It rained while I was there so my tent was in a mud hole. Not what I expected for a resort.

We were asigned a different site than what we booked. Men's bathroom was filthy and hot. There is no bathroom facilities near the tenting areas. We left early because of the people just down from us were so noisy, until 2:30am. The place is very noisy. The dust in the tenting sites was awful.They didn't pick up the our trash. Very expensive service offered. Will not be back.

We loved staying at the palmer gulch KOA- enjoyed the campsites immensely and all of the amenities that came with. I was surprised though, with how much room there is, that the campsites were so cramped together. Seemed like we were invading each others privacy/space and it was a bit awkward. Thank you!

4 adults and three young kids 5 and under. We all had an absolute blast and there is so much to do at the camp ground! My only complaint is that where we were camped out there was not any bathrooms really close to us, so with three young kids and two of them potty training it was difficult hiking to and from the restroom. Other than that it was a blast and we plan to be back!

Arriving at our campsite, we found a trailer w/ ATV on our site. This never moved during our stay. We also found our tent site littered with piles of horse manure left over from the recent rodeo. Our site wasn't ready when we arrived and management took 90 minutes to have someone come to clean up the manure. Management only gave me reasons why our site was so unusable, but never had a solution.

We got the worst tent site in the park (rocky and not level), but the amenities of the KOA resort made up for it. We had a great time!

Noisy motorcycles quieted down by 10 pm, had very good sleeps in a tent. Excellent washroom facilities. Only complaint is how sites are numbered on trees. site numbers are placed on trees so they can only be seen travelling in one direction. Staff at counter drew diagram had me travelling in wrong direction. Also gravel roads with hills very difficult to navigate on motorcycle.

Another great trip to Palmer Gulch. Had a little hiccup with the site I originally picked and the reservation staff quickly made adjustments for us without any hassle. Fun, friendly, beautiful, great facilities!!!! So clean, easy access, love the overflow parking area, great roads for the motorcycles. I can't say enough about how amazing the two nights were. I wish I could have stayed longer.

We liked the pool, water slide, and bounce pillow. We also enjoyed Mini Golf. It is a very kid friendly camping site. In addition, they had a great pancake breakfast. The Turtle Town also was enjoyable.

We love KOAs and recommend them to everyone always! I cannot say enough good things about the Mount Rushmore KOA resort, such an amazing spot. We loved all the amenities and activities, staff was very friendly and the facilities are nice and clean. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Resort is great. Amenities are amazing. Lots of activities, but the "grassy tent site" we were assigned was on the side of the road in the cabin area next to the pond where a flock of geese have claimed territory. The whole site is covered in layer upon layer of goose feces and the geese themselves are quite unhappy that you're camping in their backyard. I'd rec just not using that spot anymore.

Our site was right next to the fishing pond which was beautiful. The only problem was there was goose poop EVERYWHERE. We love this KOA and have been 3 times now and will come back again. I love when they move the horses in the morning. Just hated the insane amount of goose poop.

We had a wonderful stay at site 33. Wish there was a bit more shade but the horse round up was great fun! We really enjoyed the Pancake tent and even did taco night.

Overall the stay was good and we had a lot of fun at the waterslide, parks, and pool. We go to bed early so we’re glad with the quiet hours. Some improvements needed : Comfort zone 1, and pool bathroom in fun zone get a lot of use, more regular cleaning would be great. Men’s faucet in comfort zone 1 did have occasional dirt coming out.

This KOA had a ton of activities for the kids. We had a great time in the evenings coming back from outings and swimming and playing mini golf. The breakfast tent was reasonable priced and the staff was friendly. Our tent site was nice and a little secluded which we really enjoyed.

The best parts about this resort are being so close to Mount Rushmore and some of the amenities, and of course the beauty of the area. We had a very challenging experience, sit next to a fellow camper who played loud abusive language, rap, music took drugs and drink alcohol and talked about being in jail and having weapons. Loved the place vary nice booked for next year. Woud go evey year every year if coud vary fun woud love try the atv rentals next time.pool was vary nice not to full had room for my family to swim and play the rodeo was lot fun also horse back riding was also lot of fun

Fantastic staff very helpful and friendly wonderful location in view of the highest peak in that part of south dakota. Best facilities and resort ever. They offer a lot of amenities more than we expected. Restaurant, lodge, soecial events, wr experienced a polka palooza. Well organized. Good food. Very clean resort. Loved the flowers planted everywhere

Perfect family resort! My family and I stayed at this KOA for 4 nights over labor day weekend. We usually camp in a tent or our camper in the black hills, but this time decided to try out one of the rustic cabin rentals, which was perfect for our family of 4. The resort is very large, two pool areas, a stable, restaurant and cafe on site, lots of activities for kids and adults. We enjoyed the splash pad for our small kids and the mini golf. Food in the restaurant was great, we ate there a couple of times. The location of the resort is very convenient for all black hills activities. Would definitely recommend this KOA!
