We had a great visit at KOA where we stayed in a motorhome. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the infrastructure of KOA was superb.

We thought the KOA was really nice. Lots of things to do for families. Our only disappointment was in the lack of internet service. I couldn’t call your office or email. Hopefully you can get that remedied.

Got lost trying to find our site initially upon arriving - no guided service. Also need better signs to find campsite at night. Staff very helpful with directions back to interstate

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was super friendly from check in to checkout! So much for the kids to do, the restaurants were top notch too! So many things to keep the kids entertained and safe fun family atmosphere. The views from our campsite were amazing! We will be back!

I only stayed one night and was unable to take advantage of the countless activities and events available. HORSE TRAIL RIDES! All the areas I saw and used were very clean and very well maintained. The site is self-sustaining with everything you need. You only need to leave if you’re sightseeing. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We only stayed one night but it was great ? The site wasn’t the best for our motorhome but we made it work.

We had a fantastic stay. The staff were exceptional! Friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely come back and stay here again. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Mount Rushmore as there is so much more to see in the surrounding area.

This KOA is the best we've ever stayed at. Grounds are beautiful, bathrooms/showers are super clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will stay here again when we're back in the Black Hills.

There are plenty of amenities and it is beautiful. The campground is clean and the help is friendly. The only drawback we had was the sewer drain was higher elevation than the camper, which made dumping a bit of an issue. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Large campground with offerings for everyone: Kids' activities, music, clean sites, UTV trails, weekend pancakes, and helpful staff. The campground is busy. The campground is near many tourist and scenic sites, and is located in a beautiful area. We had everything we needed.

Your water was yellow.

We enjoyed our stay overall. There are a few things that could use some work. The showers and the hot tub especially were very dirty. If you rubbed against the wall of it a bunch of grime came off. The other things is we came late at night for check in and there is absolutely no lighting so was very difficult to find the campsite. Lastly the people next to our site started yelling at each other

Really nice facilities, campground and family oriented. Wish we could have stayed longer! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

It just took some of the new people a little bit to figure things out. Like nachos come with cheese on them. It is all good we had a good laugh. Very friendly people.

Absolutely amazing place! Kids had so much fun, very relaxing for the adults. Lots of family activities. The gaga ball pits were awesome, the kids spent hours playing with everyone. Fantastic place!! Bingo might be rigged 4 of 5 games were won by the same table.

Memorial Day weekend and they were not fully open and short staffed but was still charged in season prices. Kids couldn’t use the water slide. Pool is kind of gross and dirty Beautiful views and friendly staff. Campsites are tucked in a little too tight. We couldn’t use our fire pit as it was about 3-4 feet from our neighbors slide out.

Very nice campground with a lot of activities for kids and adults. Conveniently located for all attractions outside of the campground as well.

The horse staff was great. Laundry super awesome but the sign for the amount per load not super visible and therefore I was short when I chose a wash that cost more. I wish someone would bring wood around and offer it for sale not just at the front. Also the showers could use more mops to clean up the floors and maybe an attendant every two hours to check those. Loved my stay. Lenny was great

Overall a great stay! Great facilities, great location and great views! Only downside is the spots are too close together and when mentioning on our reservation that we were 36ft and towing I would have thought we would have gotten a larger pad. This will not deter us from staying again we will just ask for a spot that better accommodates us. Thank you for everything!

Amazing for grade school aged kids. So much for them To do. Peaceful you are not. Just know what you’re getting into. Not stop cars, atv’s, campers, golf carts, bikes. All That is great until it’s not!

Overall the stay was amazing. We enjoyed the pancake breakfast, we absolutely loved our campsite in the 400s. We loved staying in the trees. We did have some water issues the last night we were there. There was no pressure and our water was brown with a filter. But overall we had such a great time and will be back in the future.

Overall, decent stay. A lot of fun things to do- horses were our favorite. Unfortunately, the pool near the lodge was always full and we could never get on the pickleball court, like we wanted. We stayed in one of the rooms for 3 nights and not once was our room cleaned up- I did not know until the last day that they don't come in the rooms without a request- this needs to be communicated at check-in (a family of four- there were towels piling up on the floor and would've been nice to have our trash taken out, plus we had to go to the desk to ask for toiletries and fresh towels). The lodge has very limited breakfast items (just cereals, muffins, yogurt, etc); would've been nice to have a free hot meal. TV didn't work for 3-4 days (offered very low compensation for this). While the front desk was overall helpful, there were times they could get snarky/short. Would've loved a fitness center/gym offered. Beds were comfortable. Water pressure in shower was good. Room on arrival was clean. Would come again.

We planned our vacation to the Mount Rushmore KOA Resort based on a recommendation from a friend. Since we aren't campers, we opted for a camping cabin, thinking it would be a comfortable alternative to traditional camping. Unfortunately, we were wrong. The website notes that the cabins do not have air conditioning, but it also suggests that it's not needed because temperatures cool off significantly at night. While that may be true under normal circumstances, it wasn't our experience. We visited during a stretch of upper-90-degree temperatures, and our cabin received direct sunlight for most of the day. Because of the cabin's location and window configuration, there was very little airflow. We ran three fans 24 hours a day and kept the front door open whenever we were at the site, yet the cabin didn't reach a reasonably comfortable temperature until after 1:00 a.m. each night. In addition to the heat, the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The mattresses were so firm that we may as well have been sleeping on the ground in a tent. The bottom bunk was especially difficult to use. There was very little clearance, making it hard to crawl in, roll over, or get out. I hit my head multiple times throughout the night. While the camping cabin was not a good fit for us, the resort itself was nice. The property is very large, but they also pack a lot of campsites into the available space. Our cabin site included a picnic table and fire ring, but there wasn't much additional room. We're used to having space to spread out, set up a grill, toss a ball around, and relax, and that wasn't really possible at our site. The bathrooms appeared to be recently renovated. The shower stalls were somewhat small and the water pressure could have been better, but everything was very clean and well maintained. The pools were decent and provided a welcome way to cool off, when they weren't temporarily closed for hygiene-related issues. I do wish there had been more shade around the pool area, such as umbrellas or covered seating. Because one of the pools was closed multiple times during our stay, everyone crowded into the remaining pool. It became too crowded for us to want to get in, and there wasn't enough shaded seating for parents who simply wanted to watch their kids swim. Ultimately, after two nights of miserable sleeping conditions, we decided to cut our stay short and move to a hotel. The staff were very understanding and apologetic about our experience. They refunded the unused nights without hesitation, and I was genuinely grateful for that level of customer service. Overall, if you're an avid camper who doesn't mind dealing with the elements, or if you're traveling in an RV, this is likely a great campground. As for us, we learned an important lesson the hard way: we're just not campers.
