Great location, no amenities that had been advertised are open during stay. No communication when booking the stay that the amenities are closed. Not a good way to do business.

We have a 5th wheel 36 ft not including truck and the spot they put us on was extremely tight. No help from the guy on the golf cart going fast to guide us to our spot going up hills with a long bed and trailer was helpful. Quiet hours are a joke cause our neighbors sure didn’t care with all the late night hours up and being packed in you hear everything. Place was clean and good location.

We enjoyed our stay. However, would recommend a few possible ideas for others. When we stayed, many of the features of the campground were closed for the season. It'd be nice for a break in the rates, as the advertised amenities were not available. Also, the showers had no hot water!! Who likes to take a shower in cold water?? Not a great way to start the day.

What an incredibly beautiful campgrougn and so well maintained! I am thouroughly impressed with the cleanliness and so many ammenities available. I didn't care for how close vicinity the pull-thrus were in the area that we stayed but overall, I would recommend this campgrond and anticipate the next time we can stay there.

Absolutely a beautiful campsite very clean, lots to do for everyone, saw plenty of people walking their dogs on leashes and picking up after the dogs really really nice place. The staff is also very very accommodating and nice. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This is the prettiest and most well arranged koa we have stayed at so far! It was helpful, when we checked in after dark, to have a gentleman on a side by side lead us to our campsite. The site was very level and there was plenty of space to maneuver our RV. We will definitely recommend to others!

I was expecting all of the KOA amenities to be open during my whole stay however I was informed at check-in that the resort amenities end on Labor Day. In reality, not everything shut down. I found out from other guests that 1 pool remained open. The biggest complaint was KOA employees did not seem to be on the same page about seasonal closures and reduced pool hours after Labor Day.

Would of been nice to at least see the pizza and ice cream facility open. Laundry room was disgusting. The cost to wash was more then all the other koa we have stayed at. Dryers never worked. Paid more t veo dry then to wash. Shower house #2 wasn't very clean, no hot water.

Clean park, great staff. Too bad we arrived the day after all the amenities closed. Had an issue with a late arriving pkg, staff made arrangements to have it forwarded to me, above and beyond. That’s why most of our campgrounds are KOA

This place was incredible! The staff were all so kind and friendly, The multiple restroom/shower facilities were nice. Some upkeep is needed on the plumbing in those buildings though. This was perfect for us as we rolled in with an RV and then could rent a car for the day.

It was very crowded. They crammed as many people in any open space. It was Awful. Plus they are open until 30 September, but all the facilities were closed. Could not enjoy any thing. Will not be back or recommended It to anyone.

Short 2 night stay. Enjoyed MT Rushmore and hiked up to Black Elk Peak. Also enjoyed Polkapaloosa. Was a bit dissatisfied that your restaurant and pub were close already for the season. But it was a nice stay.

Spaces are small. Have 5th wheel & not enough room to park our truck. Distance for sewer hook up is unusually long. Had to go into Rapid City and buy a longer sewer hose in order to hookup. Wasted half a day of our stay doing so. Gentleman in the office said y’all carry them but were out. Stock up knowing this is a problem. Camper next to us had the same problem. Spent several days here exploring the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore. Very friendly and informative staff at check in. Very nice flat site. So many amenities and activities listed for families. It was just the 2 of us so we didn’t use most of them but I bet the kids love it here in the summer. We did rent a UTV and had a blast riding the trails that were recommended to us by the renters.

Upon calling to make reservations they didn’t inform us that every amenity offered would be shut down. The weather is still extremely nice so this seems ignorant. The roads are severely rutted out. The campsites are the tiniest we’ve ever stayed at. The facilities were downright gross. How they have a resort status is very telling of KOA and I will do better to avoid KOA’s in the future.

When we registered we were assured we would have a pull thru to fit our trailer & tow vehicle (58 feet) as there were plenty.. We were sent to a site 35' long. At the office we were told we could have our money back and go to a Mom & Pop - they would not call another KOA for us. We ended up on a 40' site The showers were disgusting moldy curtains and ceilings just filthy. Worst campground ever!

From the moment we checked in, we had a great experience at the KOA at Palmer Gulch. The front desk staff made a fantastic first impression—they were friendly, welcoming, and took the time to share helpful information and tips about the campground and the surrounding area. Our original campsite wasn't quite what we were expecting, but after sending a quick text to the front desk, they were wonderful to work with and offered another site for us to check out. The new site was a much better fit, and we really appreciated how easy they made the process. We spent some time biking around the campground to get the lay of the land and loved discovering that there were two pools just a short ride from our campsite. We had so much fun enjoying the pools, the Fun Zone, grabbing ice cream, and stopping to say hello to the horses. Next time, we'll definitely be booking a trail ride! The only downside was that the Wi-Fi was spotty at times, but honestly, it wasn't enough to take away from an otherwise wonderful stay. The staff's outstanding customer service and the endless activities made this a memorable campground, and we'd happily stay here again when we're back in the Black Hills.
