Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The cabin we stayed in was great for one night. Wish we could have stayed longer because they have tons of activities on site!

Anyone visiting this KOA should know that it is a busy place. Some of the reviews that I read are critical of size, amount of people, etc. If you know you don't prefer this type of place, don't stay there and also don't provide a negative review of the location.

The cabin wasn’t really “clean” upon arrival. Black hairs all over - bed, shower, etc.. The pots and pans in the kitchen need replaced- so run down. Knives are super dull wasn’t able to cut. Outside of the cabin, there was 1 nice staff KOA member. The rest seemed MISERABLE. My 3 yr old got hurt on water slide bc staff not paying attention and kept letting older kids go!! Zero awareness!

We have been here several times and have loved it every time! We wish you were the ones to be still be renting out the golf carts. It seems that the price has gone up a lot for them.

Great short stay close to plenty of attractions. Loved the amenities on the resort. Shower/bathrooms were nice and clean - well thought out. Pool was great. Hot tub looked wonderful, too. Kids loved the chairs. The main store had everything you could need and want. On top of it coffee shop, ice cream, full restraunt. We hope to be back sometime!

The amenities (pools, activities, etc) were great. Our main issue was with the huge amount of wasps everywhere in the campground. We attempted to eat pancakes one morning in the tent and had to leave early as they were swarming everywhere. Same with the campsites and the pools. We didn't see any wasp traps or evidence of them trying to deal with it. Definitely won't return in late summer.

This was our fourth stay at My Rushmore KOA. Our first stay was when our kids were in elementary and preschool. They are now adults. There are activities for all ages. We love the pools, pit put, pickle ball, pancake feed, ice cream, and now the tap room.

We had a wonderful time. We were able to borrow a fan from the ofc so it made the heat in our unaircondtioned cabin bearable. We also need an in cabin toilet. Did not like going out to bathroom at night. Very scary. We stayed because our children were there with their camper. A big plus was the porch swing. The cabin was clean and the bed comfortable. We enjoyed the pancake breakfast.

The bees were horrible! My son was stung twice in our three night stay, the second hand smoke we had to deal with from neighboring campers was awful, my kids commented on it first. We love the activities at the resort, the kids had so much fun. Is the pond even stocked with fish? Don’t advertise a fishing pond if there aren’t even fish in it. That was a disappointment. You can tell they take great pride in providing a resort experience with all the amenities. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We almost got ran over multiple times by kids and teens flying around the campground on e-bikes/e-scooters. There is a huge wasp problem at this campground. The camping cabins need new mattresses, the floor was dirty, and a fan would have helped with the heat.

Entire facility very clean and well maintained, staff professional, helpful and friendly, restroom and shower facility clean, Our cabin was clean. Excellent pancake breakfast. Overall I highly recommend this facility.

We stayed in the one room cabins, the cabin was clean, the screen needs to be repaired on one of the windows, but that part was fine. At night however, they did retain heat from the 90 plus degree days and could have definitely used a fan-no air movement at night. Not much sleep. The employees there were great, it’s a great place to stay, however a fan would definitely be helpful.

It was hot there was no air-conditioning in cabin we had to hike down the hill to a bathroom there were no screen door on cabin they charge 40 dollar dog fee if your going to charge this much for a small cabin fix them

I loved that our cabin was at the end of the road so it was relatively quiet. I loved how responsive the front desk was to our needs and communicated with us several times when necessary. We love staying here. The amenities are fantastic. This is the first year we booked our stay for next year before we left. It’s ridiculous the cost went from $30 to $100 to reserve a particular cabin. I only reserve a specific site due to my handicap mother that comes with us. We like our spot on level ground for her safety and ability to ambulate without falling.

We had a 30 amp site for a trailer camper. The site was pretty narrow, our slides couldn’t completely extend and the picnic table was falling off the edge of the site (we were in 542). The fun zone, stables, and store were great. I wish the handicapped restrooms was marked as I showered my disabled son in a regular stall and then found the handicapped one later.

Not enough washrooms or showers for the tent/cabin area. Waited a very long time to use the showers. No wash pit to do dishes close to cabin. It was very inconvenient to do dishes. A lack of air conditioning during a heat wave made our sleep very uncomfortable. Overall we were very disappointed in our stay.

Palmer Gulch is such a fun place to go, with a ton of activities available. It is very well maintained, and the staff and very helpful and kind. Our only recommendation- the mattresses in the 2-bedroom cabins are very hard- recommend replacing those. Otherwise, great stay.

The cabin got to 115 inside during the day and the pool by us was closed with no signage or warning. The showers were pretty gross, and there was staff on pedal carts drag racing right by the cabin. Ultimately for the price - it lacked in Accommodations. This is my 8th KOA and the worst cabin. Most cabins have fridges, TV’s + AC.

From check in to check out we had the best time. Our 8.5yrold granddaughter loved all the activities that she could choose from to do. Everything was so close to be able to go on short little day trips. Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse are so close and a must do. Our little 1 room cabin was perfect for our stay. Clean and well maintained. Public areas were always clean and fresh as well.

From start to finish it was amazing! So much to do there for the kids and we stayed so busy. The cabin was clean and we were provided with plenty of linens for our 2 days stay. We will be back!

This is our 32nd year staying, that alone is a testimony to the incredible Palmer Gulch KOA! The staff is absolutely amazing! The amenities are incredible! Our deluxe cabin was home for 10 nights! We already reserved our cabin for next year!!! We can’t wait!

This jam packed KOA has it all. 2 pools. Waterslide. Playgrounds. Restaurants on the property. Horseback riding. Rodeo. UTV rentals. Lots of activities for the kids. Bounce pillow. It's right down the road from Mount Rushmore. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly. Cell phone reception is pretty poor, but you can't blame KOA. WiFi is pretty good if you are near their hotspots. There was always KOA employees ripping around, which they should slow down a little bit. We did experience the bees as mentioned by other reviewers. Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed our stay.

Great first experience with KOA! The reservation process was easy, and changing our dates was very convenient. Communication with Dee Dee before arrival was excellent, and check-in was quick and easy. The campground was clean, especially the bathrooms, and all the guests were very respectful. The sites are a little close together, so I would probably avoid the busy summer season. Overall, we were very impressed and would definitely stay here again!
