The cabin was great but just a little smaller than what I thought the picture showed. The mattress on the futon was terrible. The employees were very helpful and friendly. The service at the restaurant was OK but not the greatest. However it is a great place to stay so that a person could do a lot of attractions.

My husband and I were looking forward to spending our 30th anniversary at Palmer Gulch KOA where we honeymooned in 1985. Palmer Gulch was our special place. My husband David Lauseng passed away on Aug. 7. I called to cancel our August reservation but was one day outside of their cancellation window and Palmer Gulch refused to reimburse our deposit. Our stay began poorly due to a dismissive and unprofessional check-in experience with Phoebe; her attitude was so off-putting, it left me feeling genuinely upset. Unsupervised children directed a slur at my child, and with no staff intervention, we left feeling unsafe and deeply disappointed. While the location is convenient, the lack of courtesy and oversight significantly impacted our visit.

This is a beautiful KOA and the staff is wonderful. All of the facilities were clean, we loved that there were food options there since we had been driving all day. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we're ever in the area!

My stay was excellent! The bathrooms and showers were clean. The KOA has so many things to do, our family had so much fun! �ϸ We had one bummer of an experience with the hot tub maintenance man. He was very crabby and rude.

We had a wonderful stay, my family loves it. My only complaint is the workers would come "clean" the comfort are at 8:30 every morning which was super inconvenient, and by clean I mean refill the paper products, I could very much tell those bathrooms were not cleaned at all while we were there. Granted they weren't terribly dirty but they didn't get cleaned. Love this resort, you guys do it right

Overall, it was very nice, and we had a good stay. We loved the grill, large deck on the cabin, and pools. However, the mattress on the queen-sized bed in the main bedroom is very much in need of replacement (very soft and saggy), and there were several burnt out light bulbs in the cabin, so a few things to be remedied.

Beautiful location and lots of great amenities. The handicap accessible restroom was not marked in any way to indicate it as such and took a lot of effort to locate. The main camp area felt crowded but our cabin area was less crowded with a gorgeous morning view.

LOVED our stay at Palmer Gulch. Grandkids had a ball with mini-golf, pools, waterslides, bouncy pad, horses and more. Only slight issue was with very spotty cell service and internet. Also found the drone restriction a bit odd - they said because it was Class E airspace, drones cannot be flown. I am a licensed drone pilot and know that Class E airspace is completed unrestricted for flights. I don'

The prospectors breakfast was overpriced and disappointing. The "heated pools" and hot tubs were dirty and not working. The on site restaurant was terrible. The laundry didn't have working change machines so had to go to the main lodge, also dryers were terrible and dirty. Worst koa I've been to. They advertise a lot of great amenities but are overpriced and cramped and not maintained.

We have camped at Palmer Gulch for years and have always had a great experience until this year. This year the timer on the running track was broken, one hot tub was broken and mini golf had only 4 golf clubs. At night, the playground was crazy with unsupervised kids. Next year, consider having an employee on the playground from 6-10pm and then at 10pm lock up all the golf clubs, balls, chess, etc

Very helpful staff, great place for kids to play with lots of things to do. They had 2 swimming pools, at 2 separate areas in the campground with plenty of CLEAN shower houses. Good food and everything you could possibly imagine for comfort food as well.

We've been coming for years and thus time brought our adult kids and grandchildren. Rented 3 cabins. Your staff is always kind and helpful. I'd only suggest more shady areas to sit and relax by the horses and shops.

Minor, but: Kid zone could be cleaned up and could use hooks on door or wall in womens toilet stall. Otherwise the campground was great and staff was exceptional!!!!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Mount Rushmore KOA. Very clean, friendly and helpful personnel with lots to do for any age! Love this place!

Since the last time we were there the place has been run down. Water is nasty. Campground is dirty. I have never seen so many koa trucks and golf carts driving around creating dust for no reason. Also state on your website to bring quarters for Laundry. Cabins can use a little TLC. Like spend the time and clean the cobwebs from the spring/summer. Also tell the watering people to leave the plants

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay! The staff was friendly and seemed to care about their job. Bathrooms were right behind our camping cabin and that was super convenient. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well taken care of! The kids enjoyed all the activities and daily events. Have and will continue to recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the MT Rushmore area.

It was ok. The scenery was gorgeous and the cabin was decent. The staff on the other hand was meh and not very attentive. The young kid at the desk was stoned and forgot to give us our cabin key, so I had to walk back in and ask for it, and he just said oh yeah sorry with his half baked eyes. The bathrooms and showers could have been cleaner. Lots of wet dirt on the floor for your feet ugh.

cabin front window screen torn at bottom. had to sit on beds as no chairs/stools. wifi not usable as mostly unavailable and when it was it was weak and kept dropping.

The cabin we stayed in was definitely a money grab…non -useable fire pit and the picnic table was nearly sliding now the hill side. Walk from parking space to the cabin was dangerous. We arrived late, around 8pm so no chance for a cabin swap.

Our family had the best time. We had grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins, and more come together for a combined birthday camping trip and everyone had a blast! There is so much to do for activities, the food/drink options are wonderful, and the staff are great! It may be my new favorite place and we are already planning our next trip back :)

Quiet, family friendly and great location. Motorcycle wash onsite was excellent and convenience store was great. Very pricey but that was expected. Had a bit of an inconvenience getting to my cabin on a motorcycle thru the rock/gravel roads and tap water had a brownish color. Looking fwd for another stay some other time.

The facilities and attractions there are amazing! However our cabin was dirty, had ants, and only one of the wall plugs worked in the room with the double bed so my spouse had to sleep in one of the bunk beds so he could use his CPAP. I also requested a receipt with my total charges and was not provided one, the one I got was so confusing and said $0 paid on bottom.

This KOA has so much to offer. We had a great stay. My only complaint was the WiFi was not strong enough to use and being in the black hill cell service was week also hard to research the area to be prepared for the next day.

A great family stay! We loved our cabin - clean, comfortable, and perfect with kids. So many activities, food options, and amenities that we spent a lot of time enjoying the resort. Also a great location to access so many other attractions in the area.
