Closing down 90% of the amenities wipes out any good attributes. This camp reeks with corporate indifference and poor management decisions. There was eight staff in yellow when I was in the office but still took 1/2 hour to find some one to take me to my site . One pool open and not one restaurant open. KOA really sucked on this one. My last two KOA s this trip got 10 out of 10.

The KOA resort was beautiful. The only suggestion I have is to put a small bench in the showers to sit your stuff on. Currently there is 2 small hooks on the backdoor and that's not enough to hang a bag, towel and clothes without putting something in the wet floor.

Great place. Quiet, but ramped up for weekend. Most stuff had closed or was being close as we hit late in the season. Everyone was nice, clean sites and friendly people working there. Would use again

Very good KOA. CLEAN rest rooms and grounds. Friendly and attentive staff changed my stay dates with no problems. Would most definitely stay again and recommend.

Everything was closed on site. Coming in, we knew the pool would be closed but we had no idea everything else would be as well. Very disappointing. Wifi was terrible. The firewood price on site is ridiculous. $10.99/ bundle; you can get it for less nearby. The "large" site wasn't. I won't recommend to anyone and we won't be back. It was a rug pull. The only positive was the location.

Enjoyed our stay - great proximity to all the sights around. Verizon coverage is horrible. We stayed after Labor Day so all things at the front of camp were closed. Campsites were long enough, we stayed in 148, no shade so it wasn’t enjoyable in the heat of the day. Gravel and daily level - sites are close - typically what you find in a KOA. This is a large CG and in a very beautiful area.

We stayed 7 days, it was fantastic. Everyone, employees and fellow campers were amazing. The 2026 Octoberpalooza was something else! One complaint is the air chuck is worn out.

It was a great place and was close to places we wanted to see. Peaceful place for sure. 2nd week of September so a lot of things were shut down already. Need to stay in August so we can enjoy more things.

It’s our place of relaxation and recharge. Love everything about it. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Enjoyed the gift shop very much.

Loads of amenities IN SEASON. Nothing after Labor Day. Be careful booking “pull through” sites if towing vehicle in a 40 foot class A. Very few sites where you won’t have to unhook.

Easy to reserve a tent space online. Fine facility with very friendly and helpful staff. Spent 3 nights and really enjoyed our time.

Very nice 4 day stay. Most amenities were close except for one pool. We were so busy looking at all the sights, we didn't get a chance to see much of the campground. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and nice. Showers could use a shelf or a stool to put your stuff on. Otherwise this was a beautiful place to stay. We will be back!

It was a great time. We rented the reunion hall and getting to it needs better direction to get there and parking was tight and steps were a little challenging

This was one of my favorite campgrounds of all time, and half the stuff was closed (we came the day after Labor Day). Sites are nice and well layed out, there is plenty of space for maneuvering around, there are a lot of amenities for kids, it's in a beautiful and convenient location, the price is great, and the staff is amazing. I really don't have anything negative to say about it.

It is in a great location, being close to many different tourist attractions. The scenery is absolutely stunning. The amenities are quite nice for all ages to enjoy. Good fun for all. I was extra blown away by the little things. For example, when we went to leave, our camper tires needed air. I was on my way to ask if they had any and found a spot for air! It was the cherry on top as we left.

no front curtains in the cabin we stayed in . one of the electrical outlets on the wall did not work . was not told all the activities were closed for the season . reservations does not answer the phone when you call .

We have stayed here twice now. We’re locals and like to head down after most of the tourist have gone. Last year our experience was very good. This year however we were not happy. The bathrooms and shower house were absolutely disgusting. WiFi doesn’t work well enough to stream anything. Guest showed up at our site 3 hrs before check in and asked us to leave because he wanted to check in.

Nice resort with plenty of amenities. The spaces are a bit tight with the rows between a bit narrow for longer vehicles to get in and out. Beautiful layout though.

I have worked a a few KOA’s & stayed or visited dozens of others. This is without a doubt the best KOA I have ever been to. Looking forward to coming back for a longer stay.

We have been coming here twice a year for at least the last 7 years and have never had a bad experience. This KOA is awesome! The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything you could possibly want to do is right here at the campground. The grandkids never run out of fun things to do. I highly recommend Palmer Gulch KOA.

We stayed here at the very beginning of the “off season”, so everything was closing up. But still an overall great stay! There are several playgrounds for the kids, so they are never board even when the extras are closed up. The ice cream was good too!

The bees were horrible. There is no reason these are not treated by pest control. Our dog got stung twice and had to stay in the camper. We have stayed here yearly for 5+ years and never had an issue before. The new $100 rate to reserve the same spot is ridiculous. We have paid $30 for years.

Great location, great stuff and great activities. Minus one star because charging EV is not allowed, minus another star because park doesn’t have a dedicated EV charging. It’s a shame and a corporate greed the policy against EV charging. If I pay for electricity and I want to have my AC off so I can charge my EV that’s a choice that I get to make. And no, the pedestal will not overheat.

Nice location, close to everything & you pay for it. Stayed for 7 days & friends had a wedding here. Dog park is one of the worst I have seen for such a large park. Very few dog or pet stations. I think I counted 2 plus the 1 in the dog park. Sad. Tried to use the spa & it was broke a couple of days. On our next to last day, Pizza shop ran out. That night the restaurant onsite closed for season.

This jam packed KOA has it all. 2 pools. Waterslide. Playgrounds. Restaurants on the property. Horseback riding. Rodeo. UTV rentals. Lots of activities for the kids. Bounce pillow. It's right down the road from Mount Rushmore. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly. Cell phone reception is pretty poor, but you can't blame KOA. WiFi is pretty good if you are near their hotspots. There was always KOA employees ripping around, which they should slow down a little bit. We did experience the bees as mentioned by other reviewers. Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed our stay.

Great first experience with KOA! The reservation process was easy, and changing our dates was very convenient. Communication with Dee Dee before arrival was excellent, and check-in was quick and easy. The campground was clean, especially the bathrooms, and all the guests were very respectful. The sites are a little close together, so I would probably avoid the busy summer season. Overall, we were very impressed and would definitely stay here again!
