Imagine our surprise when we rounded the bend and came upon this beautiful, huge campground. We would highly recommend this KOA and hope to be back for a longer stay.

The wifi infrastructure was very bad. With no cell coverage wifi was necessary for any type of communication and there was not enough for the whole campground. Also, who closes a bathhouse at 8am for cleaning? Overall it was a nice resort.

Pluses: This place is HUGE! Lots of amenities for kids and families. Restaurants, bar, little shops, nice store on site. Negatives: internet &cell services is limited to none. Bathrooms were not cleaned often enough, most of the time they were filthy. We are retired and there were TONS of kids, most running amuck w/o supervision. Golf carts and traffic, kids dont watch for. Good for famlies.

Awesome place and resort. The shower water speed or a little bit more water would have been good. The shower was like shower in rain water.

This is the first time that we have stayed at this KOA, it is an amazing facility. The internet was spotty, but that was perfect for the family vacation. We had a great time and kids loved it so much that we are planning another time to stay in the future.

If you have kids this is the place for you if not stay somewhere else. We arrived at 12:45, as we were checking in the person at the desk wanted to charge an early check in fee of $20. Once at the site, the pull through was tight and not very long. There is no cell signal and the campground wi-fi only works late at night or early in the morning and no cable tv. I will probably stay somewhere else.

Overall good. Lots to do and fun activities. Had a little hiccup getting checked in, but quickly resolved. Not good cell reception at park. But they do have wifi. Felt like things were over priced at park.

A million activities and things to do at this KOA. Staff was very friendly, bathrooms were clean, horses were beautiful and the little shops on site were cute and fun too. We will be back again!

This campground is huge and lots of things for kids. Very close to Mt. Rushmore.But the site was too small for what we told them we had. Also they charged us $25 per day for a tent, although their website and all their brochures say you’re allowed one RV and a tent. When asked for their policy I was told “that’s just what they do”. Afraid I’d get put out I paid it but will be perusing it

33 ft motorhome you put me in a 25 ft space. Changed it to other side of creek on a hill. Could not level rv. Got changed again to a next door one. Slightly better. Water spigot did not work. Water sprayed everywhere, got soaking wet. Had to use more hose to another spigot which worked. Called you for 2 months wanting a rental car, never could talk to anyone. Just a menu list. Terrible service.

We spent two nights here and loved it! We used this as our base camp to explore the area and tour Mt. Rushmore. There are so many things to do here, I can see where someone would never need to leave! The bathrooms were clean and nice and the showers were amazing.

We were at Palmer Gulch 30 years ago and loved it, and this stay was even better! The staff is friendly and helpful. And with all the activities, it's your own fault if you get bored! It was SOOOOO nice that once 10 pm hit, the property got super quiet! If we ever plan another trip to the area, we will ABSOLUTELY stay at Palmer Gulch again!

Hot tub was closed 3 of the 4 days we where there, Kids where out of controll playing basketball and in playing in the fun zone tell 11at night with no one telling them to stop. Kids where riding there bikes with no concern to other vehicles. People where walking in the roads with no concern to traffic. The shower by the fun zone smelled like mold.

It’s a huge resort with lots to do with kids. But the sites are way too small and close together. Water pressure is awful. Beautiful area but would probably stay in a different campground next time we’re in the area.

Big park lots to do. Stayed in 2 sites, a back in by the park, very nice but closer together than the pull through up front of the park. The staff was friendly efficient and helpful. It’s a busy park but plenty of quiet spots too.

Your campgrounds are wonderful! We love that you had several different stores and lots of activities going on. We enjoyed listening to the music by the ice cream store both nights that we were there. Our RV spot was wonderful with this cement pad for the table barbecue and slider bench. It was also fantastic that it was the closest RV spot to mount rushmore!

We had a nice time, campground was well run and Sunday service with Austin and his wife a highlight. Our cabin was far away K654 from the rest of the family at 389 and 388. In the booking, it would have been better if it was easier to get a cabin closer to them. The pool and whirlpool near the hotel were the best, the ones by FUN ZONE not desirable, too many kids not cared for. Store too expensive

Lots of fun things to do. We were mostly out and about so we didn’t get to enjoy the activities too much but there is a lot offered to keep you busy. Or sure was a decent size, more room than some other KOAs we’ve been to. We were up on the hill in the trees and it was gorgeous. Kids loved all the different playgrounds that had and the pancake breakfast in the mornings was awesome!

Little to crowded for me but a beautiful campground. Only a few miles from Mount Rushmore. The chuck wagon dinner was awesome. They have a horse stable that is well staffed with trained employees.

This was our 21st year family camping trip there at Palmer Gulch. The grandkids are already looking forwards to next year! Me, my three grown children, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren absolutely love it! See you next year!

Very nice campground. One of the nicest we’ve stayed at. Plenty of things for the kids to do. Only complaint would be how to close together the sites are.

The location and scenery is gorgeous. The camp was just a little too large for me. I rented a car while there and for the price, the car was in bad shape and should be replaced soon. Other than that, the stay was nice.

Super kid orientated! Great! But the Lots are ridiculously small. No space for your truck, bikes, lawn games or pets. Bike path is too small. And our lot 23 was complete mud. It needs rock. The staff is great but after 3 nights we were ready to be less crowded.

Lots to do for the kids but hot tub and waterslide were broke down for the majority of the stay so having to walk to the other end of the park to use the other pool and hot tub was a bit much for littles legs. There should also be a walking path as we witnessed numerous walkers about get hit bit drivers on the main road.

Our site was on the small side. The site needed gravel. It was muddy. The Wi-Fi was practically non existent.

Day 2 of 3 here. This place is great! The kids amenities are great, the lots are good, location is excellent! Enjoy the Black Hills from here!

A great family stay! We loved our cabin - clean, comfortable, and perfect with kids. So many activities, food options, and amenities that we spent a lot of time enjoying the resort. Also a great location to access so many other attractions in the area.
