Just a few thoughts, getting better wifi and bigger lots would be great. It felt like a parking lot, not a camp ground. But otherwise it was awesome. Clean, friendly and memories made.

Our stay was perfect! There was activities that were planned throughout our stay at the campground. The cost of things is very reasonable, the pools were clean and always rather warm which the kids loved! the Cabin we stayed in was clean and fully ready for our stay when we arrived. The front office staff were always so friendly and willing to answer any questions we had. We will 100% come back!

We travelled in from Canada and were new to exploring the area. Our family really enjoyed this KOA. We utilized the pools, playgrounds, bathrooms & showers, and even went horse back riding. The stores had everything we needed. I loved that they had everything you needed on the grounds and the staff work so hard to be accommodating and kind. It is well worth the money.

Full hookup availability is limited. It would be nice if there were more available. My greatest concern is the bicycle traffic of children throughout the park at all times of night (even after dark). It is chaos. Bike and walking paths are so needed. The amount of oversized vehicles is great and even with the speedbumps and 10 mph posting everywhere, the potential for injury is huge.

The KOA staff was very friendly, and helpful. They were very plentiful and visible around the resort. However, the coffee and ice cream shop staff were not friendly, were short staffed and busy.The selections of ice cream were limited, and looked old, so we left... It would be nice to be able to charge any products to our KOA site, so not having to carry moneys and ID while playing.

The cabin we stayed in was very nice, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was at night. The only area of improvement that I could suggest would be more thorough pick up of trash as there were lots of little bits of litter around the cabins that we stayed in. That is ultimately the responsibility of the guests to pick up after themselves, but a reminder for guests would be great.

My best friend’s family and mine came to spend a special weekend together, and we were SO GRATEFUL to Jeff at the front desk for being a problem solver so we could shuffle spots next to each other. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. Great spot!

My family and I had a fantastic time at Mount Rushmore KOA Resort. My grandkids loved the pool, mini golf, and the horses. Many memories were made.

All workers were nice. Even with the campground pool closing a few times we were grateful for another to go to during the heatwave. After multiple years of coming I still don’t understand why there’s zero shade around the pool or kids play areas and other locations. It was a topic of conversation for many of us. Otherwise another great clean stay.

First time at Palmer Gulch and it did not disappoint! Lots of family activities, very well organized and the registration desk was more than helpful. It's also close to a lot of the attractions. Thank you to Lisa at the front desk for thoroughly explaining and helping us book our stay for next year!

We had a Wonderful stay! The Chuck Wagon Breakfast, Take a Horse to Dinner, and Chuck Wagon Dinner was TERRIFIC!! The Hosts and Cooks were Excellent! We met so many Nice Folks from All over the Country. And the location was perfect: Center of Everything we wanted to see and do! Especially loved the Excitement of the Surprise "Black Hawk" landing across the street during the "Great 250 Celebration"

Beautiful place to with so many different things to do including many different activities for kids. Our only complaint is the young summer staff that’s working. Most of the time they were messing around, throwing out cuss words in front of kids, and staring at their phones while “working”. Other than that complaint the KOA was beautiful.

This place exceeded our expectations! With everything they have to offer you never have to leave. It was the perfect location for everything we wanted to do in the area. The staff is attentive and friendly. We can’t wait to go back!

We stayed 5 nights to see the monuments and other sights. The campground is very clean and offers a variety of activities for everyone. It is centrally located making our sightseeing easy. I would definitely recommend.

This was our first stay at a KOA. We recently purchased an RV and this was our first big trip. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing our stay was. From the beginning after a very long drive, we met Lenny. He put a smile on our face and had us laughing. He showed us to our site and then was super helpful with great things to do and see. The chuck wagon dinner was beyond yummy. First class show!!

I have been to this KOA 30 years ago and I came back just recently. What a nice location and place. I would like to see more trees planted throughout the campground. Many of the sites have no trees which limits your privacy. Other then the trees I loved the place.

Fantastic resort. Great amenities and so much to do for every age group and demographic! We would absolutely stay there again. The only thing I’d love to see added is ventilation in the shower rooms - getting out of the shower, immediately starting to sweat in the humidity, and then trying to get dressed was not the most enjoyable. Otherwise, excellent resort, highly recommend!

We loved everything about this place. The closeness to Mt. Rushmore made it convenient. Everything was tidy and clean. Every staff person we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our “truck hauler” trailer when we were leaving and the maintenance personnel got me the items I needed to fix the problem and be on our way to our next KOA campground down in Ogallala Nebra

Fantastic spot for families. Plenty for kids to do, and convenient base for sightseeing. It is a large park and sites are close together. Observe the 5mph limit as children are darting in and out from all directions. I wish my grandson was older so I could take him to this campground. Clean showers, handles on restroom door was falling off. Good restaurant and bar on site. We enjoyed our 2 nights

Overall we had a great experience. We did notice some unpleasant odors when at the pool at the fun zone. Some of the temporary college age staff also didn’t seem like they really wanted to assist us, mostly at Turtle Town. The bounce pillows closed early due to heat, some shade there would be nice.

We had a family reunion. We stayed in site #193 in the campground and others stayed in an executive lodge. We did this 12 years ago as well. Too much traffic and people going too fast along the road now. It was dangerous with the kids on bikes and electric scooters. Speed bumps are needed from the propane station to the kids area. Food at resort was great. Next time will come in the off-season.

Such a great place. They have everything you need! Communication was great. Everyone was helpful. Two pools, mini golf, playgrounds, clean comfort stations, panning for gold, Grapes and grinds, the laundromat, etc. We loved doing the chuck wagon dinner at the Stables as well! Campsites were clean and people were friendly. They have onsite car, bike, golf cart rentals. Very close to Mount Rushmore.

Too many people for the facilities. Pools were closed for cleaning all day on a very hot day. Kids were everywhere unsupervised. Kids about 12 were riding other kids in golf carts. Kids on electric bikes speeding by. If you want a quiet relaxing experience camping do not go here. Too loud and busy for us.

We really enjoyed our tent stay at Palmer Gulch! We had a few run-ins with some determined geese, but the maintenance team was quick, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The resort has great amenities and is an excellent base for exploring the Black Hills. My only suggestion: consider adding shade to campsites without mature trees to make hot summer days more comfortable.

The guide couldnt find our tent site that we were assigned and it was a horrible site that wasnt flat on the side of a hill, they had plenty of open sites that were a lot better. If you had a problem here they just dont have the caring staff to resolve it.

Way too many sites bunched together. Swimming pool was closed a whole day while we were there. It was in the 90’s and couldn’t use the pool.

Spots very close together, but overall happy with amenities. My teen girls loved the horse back riding. The campground is very close to many attractions. Not able to make/receive any phone calls while there.

This jam packed KOA has it all. 2 pools. Waterslide. Playgrounds. Restaurants on the property. Horseback riding. Rodeo. UTV rentals. Lots of activities for the kids. Bounce pillow. It's right down the road from Mount Rushmore. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly. Cell phone reception is pretty poor, but you can't blame KOA. WiFi is pretty good if you are near their hotspots. There was always KOA employees ripping around, which they should slow down a little bit. We did experience the bees as mentioned by other reviewers. Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed our stay.

Great first experience with KOA! The reservation process was easy, and changing our dates was very convenient. Communication with Dee Dee before arrival was excellent, and check-in was quick and easy. The campground was clean, especially the bathrooms, and all the guests were very respectful. The sites are a little close together, so I would probably avoid the busy summer season. Overall, we were very impressed and would definitely stay here again!
