The prospectors breakfast was overpriced and disappointing. The "heated pools" and hot tubs were dirty and not working. The on site restaurant was terrible. The laundry didn't have working change machines so had to go to the main lodge, also dryers were terrible and dirty. Worst koa I've been to. They advertise a lot of great amenities but are overpriced and cramped and not maintained.

We have camped at Palmer Gulch for years and have always had a great experience until this year. This year the timer on the running track was broken, one hot tub was broken and mini golf had only 4 golf clubs. At night, the playground was crazy with unsupervised kids. Next year, consider having an employee on the playground from 6-10pm and then at 10pm lock up all the golf clubs, balls, chess, etc

Our stay was great! Such helpful staff, our camper spot was amazing with extra grassy yard space behind us. Pools and fun zones were such fun for hr family! The location is awesome and very convenient for visiting surrounding attractions. We will definitely be back!

Very helpful staff, great place for kids to play with lots of things to do. They had 2 swimming pools, at 2 separate areas in the campground with plenty of CLEAN shower houses. Good food and everything you could possibly imagine for comfort food as well.

The resort is nice. But it’s not allowed to use anything after you checked out. You need to pay extra to use it! Any other resorts i used allowed you to use their amenities after you checked out - that day, but not this one! Very disappointing! You have to pay extra to use it. Not like it at all, not professional

We've been coming for years and thus time brought our adult kids and grandchildren. Rented 3 cabins. Your staff is always kind and helpful. I'd only suggest more shady areas to sit and relax by the horses and shops.

We had a trailer tire go flat during our 3 day stay. The staff helped us inflate the tire. When we found it had a nail in it, they called an RV tech for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Great location for visiting Mount Rushmore Memorial and Crazy Horse Memorial. KOA is massive and lots of kids everywhere. Very busy place!!! Lots of amenities for families. Site uses well water and we had lots of sediment in our water system.

Lots to do within the campground. Very good location being in the middle of the Black Hills near Mountain Rushmore. Great service and facilities.

The busiest, loudest campground. Kids running around everywhere and in the streets. There are no crosswalks, pathways or bike trails for them nor any safety measures. Kids will end up getting hit. Golf carts speeding up and down constantly, the noise continues until 11-12 every night. Wouid never go again.

Great campground! LOTS of activities for kids! Great all you can eat pancakes for $3.50. They had a water slide, which was great and the kids loved, but the water seemed a bit dirty. But overall, our family of 8 loved it and we will return!

Staff were terrific. Everything was clean/well maintained. Rv sites are level narrow but long. Really nice treed sites by rodeo arena. Trail horse ride was amazing. Neighbors septic dump is right at your front door/campsite area. Very busy during day but quiet at night. Has everything. Kids paradise. Very close to Mt R.

This campground hands down the best we've ever been at. Activities galore. The staff was fantastic and management spared no expense to make sure there was staff to accommodate guests. Truly a nice KOA. Beautiful property and great family vacation place. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. Wish the sites were wider as spaces were narrow. The lack of cable or easy cell signal or even ability to get tv antenna signal was less than satisfactory. The registration area was great and front desk personnel were very nice.

The water was gross it was brown and they kept saying it was safe but it couldn’t be. Finally cleared up on the day we were leaving

The water was turned off at least twice, and then the hot tubs were both unusable apparently as when they turned the water back on it blew the filtration system. I’m sure the brown water that was in the hot tubs before they shut the water off was the reason

Beautiful resort! We loved all the amenities. Stores and food close by and the horseback riding was nice to have on site. Great place for children. Lots for them to do. One disappointment was that our water was turned off a couple of times, due to discolored water. But thankfully we had our own filters. We would definitely return again.

Pretty noisy at night, the BBQ wasn’t clear so when we tried to BBQ our dinner the BBQ caught fire. Our dinner was ruined.

Minor, but: Kid zone could be cleaned up and could use hooks on door or wall in womens toilet stall. Otherwise the campground was great and staff was exceptional!!!!

The staff were very nice and always helpful. The camp site across from us had 5 dogs left outside in a kennel barking. That was a lot of barking. The rodeo was fun and the amenities were great. The trail ride we paid for we did not go on because of our concern for the severe weather that was happening. We did not get a refund which was disappointing.

Water is very poor should be cleaner whey need to but in a better water tretement plant to remove the high mineral content. Dryers need to dry better

This was our second stay at Palmer Gulch KOA. Our patio site was spacious, and the location offered a multitude of activities for adults and kids. It's a short drive to see Custer State Park, The Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, the Presidential Wax Museum, Rush Mountain Adventure Park, and Tramway Adventure Park. There is no shortage of on-site or nearby shops & restaurants to explore.

Since the last time we were there the place has been run down. Water is nasty. Campground is dirty. I have never seen so many koa trucks and golf carts driving around creating dust for no reason. Also state on your website to bring quarters for Laundry. Cabins can use a little TLC. Like spend the time and clean the cobwebs from the spring/summer. Also tell the watering people to leave the plants

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay! The staff was friendly and seemed to care about their job. Bathrooms were right behind our camping cabin and that was super convenient. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well taken care of! The kids enjoyed all the activities and daily events. Have and will continue to recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the MT Rushmore area.

The check-in process was great and staff was wonderful….gave a real resort feel, but besides that it was “meh” at best. So many 5th wheels were parked into the roadway (even with KOA staff help) which made it tough to get in our spot. Plus we were packed in like sardines. The big slide and hot tubs in the “fun zone” are FILTHY! Very disappointed and not worth the resort price. We won’t

Probably the best KOA i've stayed in up to date, my only issue is the lack of internet. i couldn't use my laptop at all for ten days, ugh but you have horse back riding, UTV fun, you had a rodeo!! You should have a separate hot tub for adults only ;) but the pool was fantastic!! The people at the front desk for cheerful, our horse guide an irishman was awesome! we'll be back :)

Day 2 of 3 here. This place is great! The kids amenities are great, the lots are good, location is excellent! Enjoy the Black Hills from here!

A great family stay! We loved our cabin - clean, comfortable, and perfect with kids. So many activities, food options, and amenities that we spent a lot of time enjoying the resort. Also a great location to access so many other attractions in the area.
