Beautiful campsite, well maintained and well cared for\. The only downside we found was that there were a lot of vehicles driving around, including vehicles belonging to the campsite itself\

Biggest and busiest KOA we’ve started. Clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots to do. The shops and eateries on the grounds were wonderful.

My son had a blast there. The highlight was the water slide and mini golf. The staff, the activities, the showers/bathrooms were all great. So much to do there, you could never get bored. Some future tips would be pit up mesh on fence by ping pong to keep balls out of jump pillow and add a hottub for adults only. It was always so packed with like 20 people, never got to use it which was a bummer.

The campground had great activities and facilities, including a rodeo. The place was overrun with kids under 13 riding electric motorbikes and golf carts. As an adult with teenage children it was hard to find a place to relax in the facility.

We had an enjoyable stay and were pleased with the location and all of the activities that were on site. Definitely would look this place up again if in the area in the future!

It has everything families could want to do without leaving the campground. The glow dance party was great . The rocket making launch was so much fun. The horse back riding trip was amazing . From fishing to the jump trampoline , water slides my grandkids didn’t want to leave ,we extended 2 more nights so stayed a total of 7 nights and they never were bored, The pools could be heated more.

We stayed at one of the sites with the patio. The added space between sites was wonderful. We were next to the bath house, which turned out to be an added bonus. We rented UTV for a half day. Should have done full day. Chuck Wagon Dinner Show was great, as was the Rodeo. The Fun area was wonderful, but we didn't have to time to take full advantage. Pizza and Ice-cream were tasty. We will be back!!

The amenities (pools, activities, etc) were great. Our main issue was with the huge amount of wasps everywhere in the campground. We attempted to eat pancakes one morning in the tent and had to leave early as they were swarming everywhere. Same with the campsites and the pools. We didn't see any wasp traps or evidence of them trying to deal with it. Definitely won't return in late summer.

We had an awesome 6-night stay. Great location for local sightseeing. Lots of fun amenities for the kiddos and I loved your hot tub at night! Your maintenance crew was amazing- after I got stuck turning around at the rodeo pit, they were so gracious and helpful in getting me out and road-ready for a 650 mile trip home. I didn’t get their names, please thank them for me. See you in the future!!

This is definitely the nicest most accommodating KOA that we have ever stayed at. We have camped at several and rented cabins at several. You have adequate staff to assist campers and love that you have an on site restaurant. We no longer have small children, but unbelievable what you have to entertain kids. A family could stay here a week and never have to leave the campground.

A lot of people at this KOA! If you are looking for some family time then this is a great place but if you are looking for some quiet time might not be the place. Not a lot of shade at the sites. Overall I would stay here if the whole family will be there. Very close to Mount Rushmore which was nice to see again.

The biggest disappointment was the lack of supplies for the activities (beads for bracelet making, rubber bands for the tye-dying). Also at the mini golf, rocks all over the grass and each hole needed maintenance. While I realize that this takes time and personnel I also realize that we are paying good money for camping at Palmer Gulch. There is still some summer left. Please take this to heart.

This was our fourth stay at My Rushmore KOA. Our first stay was when our kids were in elementary and preschool. They are now adults. There are activities for all ages. We love the pools, pit put, pickle ball, pancake feed, ice cream, and now the tap room.

Wi-Fi was pretty much nonexistent throughout the campground especially at our site 538. Swimming pools not chlorinated enough. Felt like swimming in everyone else's sunblock. A lot of bees throughout the campground. Never could eat outside. Great playground, great campsite, and fun place for kids.

We had a wonderful time. We were able to borrow a fan from the ofc so it made the heat in our unaircondtioned cabin bearable. We also need an in cabin toilet. Did not like going out to bathroom at night. Very scary. We stayed because our children were there with their camper. A big plus was the porch swing. The cabin was clean and the bed comfortable. We enjoyed the pancake breakfast.

We loved our short stay! The facilities were clean and up to date and there was so much to do we almost changed our plans and stayed one more night so we could do more but it just gives us a reason to come Back.

The mattresses in the kamper kabins need to be replaced! We’ve been to other KOAs this week and they are waaayy better.

The bees were horrible! My son was stung twice in our three night stay, the second hand smoke we had to deal with from neighboring campers was awful, my kids commented on it first. We love the activities at the resort, the kids had so much fun. Is the pond even stocked with fish? Don’t advertise a fishing pond if there aren’t even fish in it. That was a disappointment. Our stay was great. Just be prepared that cell phones don't really work except up by the lodge (which I thought was great because you could really unwind) and the bees were horrible. Several people in our group were stung and only seen on the last day someone spraying for them. We will be visiting again in the future.

Had a great time!! Loved being by the trees for our stay but the sites were a little uneven for our campers. The restrooms were clean and that is a huge plus. Thank you for the kindness at check in. We will go again.

Wonderful stay again. Would be nice if the resort made some attempt to control the yellow jackets. They are out of control. Everyone in my family was stung multiple times. Could not even go outside with food. Other than that,love the resort and we will be back.

Site and location were great! Staff were friendly. The pool was filthy and crowded! The slide and mini golf are old but were fun enough. Playground was okay as were the giant chess and checkers boards.

This was the second year my family has camped at Palmer Gulch and we love it. We said we would return annually if possible with scheduling! We love coming to the black hills because there is so much to do, but this campground alone could keep your family busy for several days! We swam, danced, climbed, and played the whole stay! Would absolutely recommend! Also, very clean and organized!

This is the fourth time of us coming to this KOA, unfortunately this time was the worst. Nothing was clean, the showers and bathrooms all over the KOA were gross to the point not one of us wanted to swim due to not wanting to use the nasty showers. Also non of the activities were at the time listed which made it hard to plan. There was a massive wasp problem all over. Disappointing trip.

You can tell they take great pride in providing a resort experience with all the amenities. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We almost got ran over multiple times by kids and teens flying around the campground on e-bikes/e-scooters. There is a huge wasp problem at this campground. The camping cabins need new mattresses, the floor was dirty, and a fan would have helped with the heat.

Entire facility very clean and well maintained, staff professional, helpful and friendly, restroom and shower facility clean, Our cabin was clean. Excellent pancake breakfast. Overall I highly recommend this facility.

Great people! Helpful and friendly. Too many people for me. Also, not enough bathrooms and I would have appreciated a bench or shelf in the showers, but they were too small dor that.

This jam packed KOA has it all. 2 pools. Waterslide. Playgrounds. Restaurants on the property. Horseback riding. Rodeo. UTV rentals. Lots of activities for the kids. Bounce pillow. It's right down the road from Mount Rushmore. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly. Cell phone reception is pretty poor, but you can't blame KOA. WiFi is pretty good if you are near their hotspots. There was always KOA employees ripping around, which they should slow down a little bit. We did experience the bees as mentioned by other reviewers. Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed our stay.

Great first experience with KOA! The reservation process was easy, and changing our dates was very convenient. Communication with Dee Dee before arrival was excellent, and check-in was quick and easy. The campground was clean, especially the bathrooms, and all the guests were very respectful. The sites are a little close together, so I would probably avoid the busy summer season. Overall, we were very impressed and would definitely stay here again!
