There wasn’t much grass around the camp spots and the original spot we were give should have never need a camp spot to begin with. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well kept but the playground for the children was old and out dated and broken down and needs replacement. There really isn’t much to this KOA which was very disappointing compared to all the other KOAs we have stayed

Everything was perfect with the campground and amenities. Our only issue was that the site to the left and to the right of us was occupied by a family that was staying together and they were continually walking through our area and disrupting our site. I don’t understand why they would not have been out together instead of separated and then had us put in between them. That was frustrating.

The park itself was very clean and appeared to be well maintained. I would have to say that my only real issues were the cars, trucks and the trains going by. The park is located right next to Hwy 30. The spot we were assigned was not more than 40 yards from the road. The train tracks were maybe 60 to 70 yards from our trailer. We would no stay here again.

Loved it, very clean, very friendly staff. The only complaint I’d have is the pull through camp spots we stayed in were a little tight with the neighbor camps.

This is a great campground along the river. Everything was clean and nice. It is hard to sleep at night with train and highway noise.

It was just good to get away. However, I was extremely disappointed in the “engineered”layout of the upper east end on the RV park. Too many concrete tire destroyers. Whoever layed it out obviously knew nothing about parking a RV.

Nice staff, good WiFi, clean laundry and amazing showers. Nice gift shop, a nice river flowing by, a quaint camp ground above, not in operation but cool to see. The lava hot springs is amazing towards the end of town. Town was pretty much closed down but we did find a great place for burgers…78 Main Street eatery. The Koa was also empty, perhaps over priced…pets are $6 EA…��

Beautifully kept campground. Nice large spaces with great patio and furniture. Hookups located in great spot including second sewer for large rigs. Staff friendly and helpful. Views great! Loved watching trains go by.

Beautiful and spacious campground. Close to the hot springs, which was our goal. Beautiful scenery along the river. Would love to visit again in the summer when it’s warmer but loved it nonetheless.

noisey noisey noisey. Trains constantly and semi's pulling a long hill. Not a fan of all the concrete curbing, makes it difficult to set up and drain tanks.

Cody and Andi are great owner operators. Canda is super at arranging schedules and/or changing reservations. Grounds and restrooms are always clean.

The campground was clean and well groomed in spite of the recent winter weather that was present just a week prior to our stay. The place is next to the highway and train tracks so would be bothersome to light sleepers. We managed just fine.

What a beautiful campground! The sites are well spaced and beautifully maintained. Andie and her staff were delightful. Being able to walk into town and to the hot springs was a real plus.

The only issue I had was with the showers. They are not very well designed. I have a disability that I can't stand for long periods and I need to seat down to dressed. The shower even though that they are big they are not suitable for disable people, because in order to dressed you have to do it outside the showers. No privacy. I had to bring my own chair to seat and dressed outside the showers.

Right in the hills. Close to town along river walking trail. Hot spring pool in town, plus water park. If you like long freight trains, watch from the campground. My family would use this park for overnight or longer. Depends on are travel needs.

Stay was great, weather was not so great. First morning after arrival we woke up to 4" of snow. Significant snow still in some areas. Our spot was clean and snow was cleared. Lots of disgusting goose poop everywhere in the campground. Wet weather made it even more disgusting than normal. Bathrooms and showers were clean and staff was friendly and accommodating.

We had an amazing week at Lava Hot Springs KOA. The Manager and Owner went out of their way to ensure a package we had delivered was picked up at the Post Office and delivered to us. TY.

The bathrooms should've been warmer. I don't see a reason to not have any heat in the bathrooms when the temperature outside is so cold.

Great location and clean, well organized sites. Even water with freezing temperatures. The bathrooms and showers were extremely nice, each with private rooms.

We stayed in L46 and patio is facing the river. Very nice night bbq and fire pit experience. Close by train tracks and freeway is the downside though. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Kids loved the bunk beds.

The cabins are very cozy, close to the Portneuf river across from the cabins. It runs by some great RV parking spots looking at that river. I gave them 2 stars for service because no one is around Monday to Thursday, along with limited working hours Friday- Sunday. If you want something, you have to get in your vehicle and drive about a mile away to their other office in a different area of town. I find that ridiculous or even worse, asinine, not sure what the owner was thinking of that concept. Everything else was great. Some people might have other opinions about driving away to check out, they should have a drop box located around the office area to drop off the keys where we were staying at, instead of us driving to the other location drop it off, I found that to be very inconvenience for us.
