Very nice, but so cramped and crowded. Great amenities, but I would give that up for a little more space at the campsites. We are literally on top of each other.

Our site was so small, we couldn't put our awning out. If we chose to sit out, we would eat dirt as cars passed because our firepit and space was inches from road. Bathrooms need to be imploded and the portable toilets is an unacceptable to having the bathrooms fixed. The pool was not heated and dirty as well. As a vip member, I recommend this place lose the koa brand.

After paying a high enough price for a cabin, beds, A/C, electricity, I felt like the KOA nickel and dimed us. Mini golf is $3 a person per round and the water slide was $2 for 1 time. The Mount Rushmore KOA doesn't charge for mini golf while having more to offer. Also, the toilets were out if order. They did bring in outdoor toilets but they were disgusting.

Had a great time plenty of activities for the kids,we did the tubing down the river and that was great The bathroom and showers are old and could use a little update one of the bathrooms wasn't working while we were there they did have port johns but not very nice in the hot weather, the firewood was wet and hard to burn we had the same thing last year. I have been staying at the KOA with my family for many years. This year we noticed maintenance at the KOA is lacking. Bathrooms that are not functional, fencing that needs to be put back into place (leaning). Terrible smell coming from the portable toilet. Buildings need painting and upkeep. Some of the arcade games were not working. Bathroom and showers need deep cleaning. A bit disappointing.

a great campground for kids. Our campsite (10) was not the best - we were right the activity. Our campsite (10) was right by the pool, the dump station, and the porta johns for the pool. It was loud and smelly. Those spots along that row should be rented last (there were plenty of other empty campsites with sewer hook ups). The empty site next to us was also used as a cut-thru by everyone.

We’ve never had a bad experience there but the facilities need an upgrade. We tried to book site 401, they said we could not get it , no one was in that site the whole time we were there ! Kind of disappointed.

My family and I have been camping at the Hayward KOA for years. This was the first year that I have ever been disappointed. The price of wood is unaffordable. The toilets weren't in working order. There were many broken things, playground equipment, corn hole boards. Our neighbors were very loud and disrespectful after quit time. I hope there are improvements made!

It's huge place but when we were there but when we were here this last week it was about 1/2 full which made it even better. Grandson loved the playgrounds, pool & bounce pad. It was quiet at night. Some showers took a little longer to warm up but worked good. We were in a cabin and the ac worked great. So all in all a good place to stay.

Staff was pleasant, campground was clean. Spots were too small and if you don’t have kids, it’s way too loud, especially if your campsite is across from the volleyball/horseshoe pit.

We love staying here. On our last stay, we arrived on Sunday and left Tuesday morning. My husband said the men's bathroom was messy/dirty the whole time. (as we were leaving Tues. morning, a cleaning team was just beginning) Also, the garbage bins where you use your hand to push the trash in were very dirty - I didn't want to touch it to throw away the trash. Overall - a GREAT place!!

Very disappointed we were not informed before our stay that half the bathrooms were closed. With small children , porta potties are inconvenient, and messy. The other bathroom is in need of updating and is a walk from the tenting area.

From check-in to check-out I was over the top thrilled with my stay. Not a detail was missed at this campground! The staff were warm, inviting, and over the top helpful. All the staff gave the appearance of loving their jobs. The grounds and amenities were cleaned several times throughout the day. I had my 4year old granddaughter with on our maiden voyage and she loved it! Thank you everyone!

Our family gathered last weekend and had so much fun. We stayed in KL26 and K199. The family enjoyed the pool, golf and tubing down the river. We really enjoyed our time and the staff were so nice and helpful. Will be back next year.

Charged an extra 20$ for 4 kids when I already said I had two. So why 20$ should have been 10$ This place is TOO packed, it was a miserable time. There was so many campers for a very small area we stayed Friday night and left Saturday at noon.

We stayed at the campground this past weekend and overall had a great time. The check-in process was a bit chaotic, with long lines and some confusion — definitely an area that could be streamlined for a better first impression. We were placed at a tent site that was basically under the waterside and adjacent to the freeway. When sitting at our fire, if the wind blew we would get misted with water from the slide. The pool was pretty much standing room only, and it wasn't even an extremely hot day. Growing up, it felt like a family-friendly place. Now, it feels like an over-crowded cash grab.

Cool place to stay. Bathrooms were far away from our tent and out of order so we had to use porta potty’s. Pool was small and full most of the weekend with no where to sit. Shower houses are outdated

If there is one complaint (and only one), it would be to remind people to not walk through other people's sites. Maybe a reminder that there is walkways between roads. :) All the staff are amazing! We enjoy coming here every summer with the grandkids. It's the Taj Mahal of camping!

Great campsite with plenty of shade. We had a wonderful time. Wish everything was included in the stay. Seems a little nickel and dime you to death but overall good. The girl who ran bingo was the only problem we had. She was very cranky.

Have stayed here a few times and it’s starting to get pretty run down. Went to office to ask if it was ok to park a second vehicle in the parking lot up front as sites are very small. For some reason I proceeded to get a lecture how if I parked a second vehicle on my site It was guaranteed I would start a fight and that everybody thinks there entitled.

The campground itself was nice, the spots were extremely tight, especially for a 5th wheel with slide on both sides. The campground was far from full, so it seemed odd that they put us right next to another camper, when they had several of the same type available. They did the same to campers the next row over as well. When the spots are SO tight, give people more space when you have the option.

When we checked in and got to our cabin our television didnt work. The next day our grill didn't work. Simple things but can be a throw off.

There were adults in the pool with open beer cans which is not allowed. Trash was floating around also( empty sprite bottle and wrappers) Your campground was down to 1 bathroom/shower house because of a septic issue. I understand things like that happen- however, the only usable bathroom was never cleaned. Waste baskets were overflowing, t.p. all over the floor, and floor not swept.

Best place ever for kids! The only thing missing is a hot tub! Then it would be perfect. The cabins are adorable, we loved all the things the staff do for the kids. The ice cream shop guys are the sweetest and the playground is the best. Just please get a hot tub guys!! :)

While we understand that we stayed at peak season, this campground seemed overbooked and overcrowded. Wasn’t terrible… but we wouldn’t choose to return.

Bathrooms were not cleaned during my 3 day stay. Had 4 port-a-potties set up for guests to use because restroom near pool was being repaired. A lot of the games in game room weren’t working. Pool was fun, but management should have given discount to campers. Price was high for the condition of facility. Not sure if I’d be back again.

The person who checked me in didn’t want to switch me to a better site. I was supposed to be across from pool and smelly outhouses because bathhouse was broken. He said I should have called or paid the $20 to choose a site. Really? You have 80% vacancy on a Monday night. He reluctantly moved me. Bathrooms were dirty and old. Need a tear down and rebuild. Sites are close but I knew that.

What a great stay! The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed everything there was to do! The kids enjoyed the pool and had a great time with all the activities of the weekend! The Olympics were a hit for sure and so family friendly! Good stay from start to finish. Our first stay and we'll be back!

This has to be one of the nicest KOA's ive stayed at for a while. They offer so many things for kids to do. The stuff and prompt and friendly. Lots of extra services offered. Dont miss smores on Friday nights and the outdoor movie. Travis has done an amazing job. Keep it up. We will definitely be back.
