Always clean, lots of activities, spacious sites and great people

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing I saw was the other campers driving over the speed limit inside the campground.

This campground is awesome! This was our first time camping with our new to us camper and the site setup and utilities were great along with the placement of the dump station. All of the activities for the holiday weekend were a lot of fun too! Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

The washrooms need some serious updating , gravel would go far for the campsite in section C9 . Dust control is seriously needed as well as some road work coming into the campground. For the price of what is charged , it needs to be upgraded. We left our wet firewood in the fire pit. Couldn't get it to burn at all.

The park is safe and green with lots of trees around. The staff is super friendly and helpful, they (Bob and his wife , Dee the housekeeper, and all support staff) work hard to keep the place clean and in good working order. The store is well stocked, the laundry facilities are nice. This is my favorite KOA!

Helpful courteous staff, nice grounds and well kept facilities. Loved the nature trail!

Not quite what we expect of a KOA. Entry road was dirt with many potholes (not good for a travel trailer). Bathrooms need some updating (don't like the rustic charm!) and the toilet paper was the worst (very thin) I've ever had in any facility. Purchased wood was not totally dry. Marty's bathhouse shower wasn't hot. However, despite my complaints, the staff was great.

Staff is very kind. The restrooms must be rebuild. At my opinion, this camping is not a Koa. Too much expensive for what they offer. The sites are ok under the trees and that was quiet. I asked for no service site and they told me that no one is available (sunday evening late august). But there was a lot of tent site empties… Strangely after each bad comments, there is a batch of good one

An annual group gathering with a bunch of friends. We were disappointed that there was no Friday night pizza.

The sites are large but just dirt. The roads are bumpy and dirt. The bathrooms and showers are dirty, mouldy and need to be cleaned better. Even the ceilings are mouldy.

We had a wonderful stay at the Freeport/Durham KOA. The staff and owners were very friendly, the park was clean and we really enjoyed being able to pet the horses and sweet donkey. The extra activities were fun for the kids and our site under the Oak and Pine trees was beautiful!

I was first in a spot that did not suit me and was changed to a wonderful area of the campground. The pool and playground my granddaughter love which was kept very clean. Enjoyed the stay very much thank you!

Perfect place for family camping. Super super clean. Lot was the levelest that I’ve ever encountered!

Although a little off the beaten path we had a great time. The pull in site are spacious and although cable was not available we had no issues with getting TV reception. WiFi was weak but we really didn't need it. It is a central location to several great places to visit in Maine which seems to take 15 minutes no matter where you want to go (except Freeport of course).

excellent, thank you.

This is a HUGE camp, open to all camping types, but mostly what you'll see are motorhomes and trailers. That seems typical at KoAs, people use and love all the hookups But tents and other RVs are abundant too. We were at Rivers edge which got lots of action and laughter. Tenting areas get the low spots. This KoA has lots to do for kids and parents, a summer camp with Mom and Dad.

Very friendly staff that goes above and beyond to make the campers stay enjoyable. Grounds keeping not the greatest.

They lost our booking and then offered us a 30 amp site for 4 days. 2 days later, they said they were full and had to leave. Fortunately, we found another RV park.

Employee yelled at us for not turning off the water at the dump station. Water faucet was broken and did NOT turn off properly! After yelling at us he said "it doesn't turn off properly."

I keep getting information about my stays and reservations. IT IS NOT ME - I HAVE REACHED OUT SEVERAL TIMES TO KOA AND STILL GET HARRY D. EMAILS. PLEASE CORRECT AS I AM GOING TO BLOCK KOA EMAILS!

This place is always well run

WiFi was spotty at best, road & driveway all were dirt & it was pouring when we got there so it was very messy. We could not get the car off the tow dolly when we got home because there was too much sand/dirt on it so the tires on the car locked up with all the dirt under them. We did get it off but it took some doing… Brunswick was not that far away, probably 30 mins, but the camp is remote.

Potholes incoming are horrible. Sand quarry beeping and clanging from 7-4 is horrible. Sewer is uphill. Water pressure low. Electricity is unstable & unsafe. Muddy sites w no grass. Internet unusable. Not what I want to see in a KOA franchise! Felt terribly ripped off. 9 years ago this was a better managed facility and worthy of KOA. Will never return & hope this is not new standard for KOA!

Our site was very shady which we appreciated on the very hot day. The entry road was potholed. A good York raking is needed as well as throughout the campground. Otherwise, the site was large and we have no complaints.

Quietest campground we’ve been to in a long time. Very relaxing

It was a great place to camp

Just right

This is our 7th year going here. This was the first year I was a bit disappointed. Let me start by saying that the staff is lovely. That being said…Water slide was closed (broken), part of the playground was closed (broken), toilet paper in bathroom is awful and bathrooms could use an update. Smelled like pot every day throughout the day, campers behind us yelled cuss words at their dogs often.

We had the perfect site. The staff was friendly.

Sites very uneven with lots of rocks sticking out from the surface. Pool was not clean. Slide was out of order (broken bolt) and not very safe anyways. The whole campground looked tired and not kept very well.

We drove to Nebraska and back to Maine, staying at KOA campgrounds whenever possible. KOA, is, by far, the better ones to stay at when compared to other campgrounds. The Durham/Freeport campground was one of the better KOA ones with a beautiful secluded site in the trees. We definitely will keep it in mind to stay at again.

We travel around the U.S., Mexico and Canada with our 5 dogs. We usually seek out KOAs because we feel welcome with that many dogs and there usually aren't any ridiculous limits on how many dogs you can have. We were on our way to Canada and were so happy to find this campground was open as many in the northeast are not open yet in mid-April. We felt very welcome at this campground with our 5 canine children. We came in after hours - our map and envelope were waiting for us on the board. Easy to find our spot. Nice, big dog park.

This is a great basecamp for an extended visit to Freeport, Maine. Easily accessible to the interstate too.
