The place is off the beaten track therefore very quiet(no road noise) yet close enough to Freeport and Portland to be able to enjoy their attractions easily. It is clean, the owner is friendly, a very pleasant person to talk with, takes pride in his property and business and it shows.

Everyone working at the Freeport KOA is super friendly and helpful! We enjoy each visit.

Friendly staff, great campground! We stay there every year on our way up to Deer Isle.

We booked a woodsy tent site for mid-week with our truck camper and had a fantastic stay! It helped that the weather was perfect and we were tired after climbing a mountain. The bathrooms were nice and clean and the showers were hot. It's a peaceful, quiet place with a rustic, old fashioned feel.

Otherwise the rain $ cool temperatures it was great.

We arrived late but our check-in packet was waiting for us. The map was rather confusing, in the dark, but once we found our spot, it was beautiful. Will definitely keep it in mind to stay at again.

Very nice campground. Very friendly staff

We came with a group of 6 other campers. A total of 16 people. Campground was clean and quiet (even though there were kids and dogs playing). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots were big, some were wooded and some were out in the open.

Nice campground, but no cable and internet didn't work most of the time. We like to watch local news and weather. Miss the days when campground offered cable. At least it was reliable.

The checknin was wuick, the store staff was friendly, the campsite has large play areas for the kids, and dogs, the wooded campsites area just quite enough and still close to everything.

Great campground with nice, spacious sites. Playground area was beautiful and in full view of many sites which was great for us. The pool looked nice but was never opened (we were told it would be but the weather wasn't great anyway). Loved the wagon/train rides and crafts! The horse stables on site were a cool bonus for the kids. Would probably stay there again, in a different site.

Front office staff was great, so friendly and welcoming. Campground was very clean and felt very safe. The sites did not offer much privacy.

I would not stay here again. Staff was friendly and playground nice, but thats where it ends. Over the last two years we have stayed at approximately 36 campgrounds across Maine, Indiana, Niagara Falls, North Carolina, Virginia, Prince Edward Island, and many places in between. This ranks in the top 5 worst we have stayed at with sewer and electrical issues, and we will not be going back.

It was a short but awesome stay. Showers are hot and very clean. Laundry room had 4 washers and dryers so it was a quick visit. You have every amenity you might want such as swimming pool, panning for gold or just relaxing by the fire. I would recommend this park for a short or long stay.

The campground is quiet in early May. There is a lot of great cleanup efforts that will keep this already clean campground nice through the summer. One small concern though, the pail for dog bags in the dog park was full, actually overflowing.

Main road should be better going in and out.

Wonderful and friendly staff. From the moment we checked in, they were present and accommodating.

We travel around the U.S., Mexico and Canada with our 5 dogs. We seek out KOAs because we feel welcome with that many dogs and there usually aren’t any ridiculous limits on how many dogs you can have. We felt very welcome at this campground with our 5 canine children. We came in after hours - our map and envelope were waiting for us on the board. Easy to find our spot. Nice, big dog park.

We love this campground! I cannot say enough good things about the owners. They are very friendly and very helpful. The campground itself is beautiful and well-maintained, even in the winter.

I have been camping for 40 years and this is my favorite campground. The campground is well kept, quiet and close to all of Maine’s attractions.

I have been coming to this campground for a long time. It is a well kept quiet campground close to all of Freeport’s stores, parks, and a short drive to Portland, Brunswick, Lewiston and Auburn. The owners are on site at all times and are friendly, helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this campground.

I am glad you stay open beyond other campgrounds as I am not ready to give up camping October 15th. The campground was quiet and all services were available. Thank you!

Nice clean campground, it was late in the year, but we still had full hookups and all services.

We were visiting off season, so no "activities" were expected. The bath house was clean, check in was a breeze, and the staff stayed late one afternoon to get me a bundle of firewood If you are looking for a convenient basecamp to really spend time in Freeport, Maine, this is the place for you!

Overpriced during the “off season” based on what they had for offerings. The playground was fun, but that’s all they had for kids which is unusual for a KOA. Our side was a good size but covered in leaves and sticks so we had to clear it.

Excellent campsites, nice mix of forested sites and field sites. We found the bath houses to be clean and in good service and we appreciated that KOA FREEPORT/DURHAM is open late into the season (year round for some).

Very enjoyable. Beautiful wooded site

My favorite campground! Spacious sites, great amenities, close to all area attractions, quiet family campground. Owners are awesome, very accommodating. Just a great place to stay.

Friendly people, clean sites, conveniently located reasonable rates!

Very beautiful campground with lots to offer families. We only stayed for a couple of days off season but from what we could see it was a wonderful place to stay from friendly staff to wooded trails to comfortable campsites. We would definitely return.

The campsite was large & level. The bathouse was very clean.

We drove to Nebraska and back to Maine, staying at KOA campgrounds whenever possible. KOA, is, by far, the better ones to stay at when compared to other campgrounds. The Durham/Freeport campground was one of the better KOA ones with a beautiful secluded site in the trees. We definitely will keep it in mind to stay at again.

We travel around the U.S., Mexico and Canada with our 5 dogs. We usually seek out KOAs because we feel welcome with that many dogs and there usually aren't any ridiculous limits on how many dogs you can have. We were on our way to Canada and were so happy to find this campground was open as many in the northeast are not open yet in mid-April. We felt very welcome at this campground with our 5 canine children. We came in after hours - our map and envelope were waiting for us on the board. Easy to find our spot. Nice, big dog park.
