Staff was amazing! It was dark and we missed a turn…staff member was a human GPS and helped to ensure we arrived before they left for the day. We really appreciated that since we had a golf cart escort to our site.

Wow, what a beautiful mountain camping experience. Peaceful, clean, everyone I met was so nice and helpful. southern hospitality at its best. The shower in the bathhouse was exactly what I needed to get me motivated for my next leg south bound. I’m looking forward to staying longer in the spring.

So grateful that we were able to get to the campground before the end of the season. This place continues to reinvest in the property with improvements and cute little accents that make it the special place it is. If you truly want to unwind, make it a point to come here for a weekend. I guarantee it will be the first of many stops there.

Great staff, very helpful. For the size of our rig (40feet) it was a little tight.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are camping in the mountains at its best. Big rig capable, not big rig friendly. Flat lands we are not. Beautiful we are!!

As always, our 17 day stay was very nice and we have already made our resos for 2026. Food was good and timely, campground was quiet as it is most of the time in late-Oct early-Nov, Angie and staff were exceptional, and the Wi-Fi and cable were spot-on. Our only suggestion is to add some mulch on top of the rock areas in the dog pen sites as any campground rocks are tough on the dog paws!!!

The park is on a side hill with hardly any level sites. I bought a brisket sandwich, baked beans and coleslaw for supper the first night I was there. The brisket was the worst I have ever had. Dry and shredded like some leftover days old roast beef. Coleslaw and beans were so so. Staff was friendly and utilities were fine. Sites were mostly shaded.

While here please let us know you are unsatisfied, we have a full menu to choose from with lots of options. Now wait, are you one of those folks that eat everything and then complain :)

Your KOA is our getaway for relaxation. It is always clean and inviting place to stay. The area is very quite. The Staff is always willing to help. The food is outstanding Thanks Dave. Will visit again soon in the spring.

The staff were exceptionally pleasant & although the park is terraced on a hill they’ve really done a good job keeping it up and fitting in nice amenities. Many pull through sites, one of the nicest camp stores ever. 15 min ride to mt. airy & a couple of nice shops & good deli just outside the campground, not to mention Dave’s smokehouse & other menu items at the KOA.

We return every year and we never disappointed. It is one of favorite campgrounds. It's close to the Blueridge Mountains and all kind of arts and crafts stores. Their bathrooms are very clean and check out their gifts in the office.

The customer service at this KOA is phenomenal! We arrived at closing time and to have a pizza and firewood delivered to our site was amazing! The employees at this KOA are always friendly and always willing to assist. They even helped in being able to watch the Dodgers and Blue Jays World series. The internet and tv stations offered are excellent! Thank you for making our stay wonderful!

This was our first time at Fancy Gap KOA. It is a beautiful campground and would definitely stay again. My husband said that the campground restroom was very clean. You must try Dave’s Smoke House on the campgrounds. On our first night, it was raining so we decided to stay in. Our meal was delivered to our camper and it was hot and delicious.

The people working there were wonderful and super sweet. We stayed during Halloween and my kids said it was the best Halloween ever and honestly it was mine too. Thank you everyone who works there. You make the stay so much better!

I like this property very much. In the woods with nice sites. Pretty much on the side of the mountain so there’s lots of up n down. Prolly the best camp store I’ve ever seen.

The campground is clean and the staff goes out of their way to accommodate you. Case in point, we wanted to leave at 8-8:30 and needed LP, but the office did not open til 9. No problem, the staff was more than willing to accommodate us. We stay here twice a year. Great place@

Exceptional customer service. We arrived late, and even though staff weren't on-site, there was a clearly prepared instruction packet with my name on it waiting for us, which made check-in seamless. The campsite is very clean, including the bathrooms, and everything is well maintained. Our site had both electric hookups and a water spigot, which made the stay very convenient. There's also a stocked pond for bass and catfish, a swimming pool, and several activities to keep kids entertained. I've heard the BBQ here is good as well, though I didn't try it. We stayed for two nights over the Juneteenth weekend (2026) and had a great experience.

One of the nicest KOA's we've stayed at. Great layout, well maintained. Site was pretty level and good spacing. The store was amazing, they have great BBQ and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. There is a pool, playground and gem mining for the kids. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if ever in the area.
