This is a great place to stay. Friendly staff. Very accommodating. They even pick up your trash for you. Nice amenities. Pool and bathrooms are clean. Very good food is delivered to your site. Makes everything very convenient. You feel like you’re staying at hotel instead of a campground.

We always love staying at KOA Fancy Gap - between the awesome staff, the beautifully maintained grounds with lots of trees and the proximity to awesome hiking in the Blue Ridge, it has quickly become one of our favorite camping spots.

We really enjoyed our visit there with the cool breezes and sunshine! from the water wars to the Bluegrass music and the food delivery and prep~ all things positive! Our site was small, but cozy. My husband wants you to know that the site(11) itself could be more level, but we were able to work with it. Also, there was a large, loose limb above . we moved our chairs to accommodate eating.

Was told when I checked in cable was not working well,I asked if WiFi was working and was told yes. Turns out it wasn’t! Site was out of level by 4 inches,very noisy first night by music until around 2am.

What is so unfortunate is you not letting us know while you were on site. The music could have easily been addressed. Also, We took a lightning strike to our system. The companies are woking diligently to fix. Please let us know while on site so we can help you have an amazing stay.

It was the 4th of July weekend so it Was packed. The sites were very very close to each other, which isn’t ideal, but I get them making the most of every inch of space. Even with it packed it was clean, well situated, had lots of wonderful games and things to do. We had a great time. Thanks!

We loved the greeting when driving into your KOA! Everything was clean and well organized. Also loved being able leave our trash bags “curbside” so they could be picked up.

Third time here. Really like the location, amenities and friendly staff. The gem mining facility needs some work. Pump wasn’t operating, two of the four sifters were unserviceable and two of the “shark tooth and arrowhead” ore bags had none of either. This was the the second time the cable remained out for our entire stay, but there were so many other nice things to enjoy, who wanted to watc

A lightning strike took our our cable and wifi system, as of today July 4th all systems are running perfectly. We would have happily given you more gem bags. Let us know while you are on site, we want you to have an amazing stay.

Short stop. Met us coming in to campground and escorted us to site. Brought dinner to our camp site from the kitchen at a very reasonable price. Definitely coming back for a longer stay to ride the Blue Ridge Parkaway.

Beautiful campground and very quiet. It was raining during our 1 day pass through stay and the owner/employees were so kind to help find stuff for our young 3 boys to do. Thank you for the relaxing stay!!!

I find this KOA a hidden gem that is one of the best maintained and staffed camp ground we have stayed at in our over 50 years of camping. It is just WONDERFUL!

This is a beautiful campground very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The staff were amazing. They have big rig spots but it is very tight getting to them. They were very helpful with escorting to and out. Thankfully my husband is great at navigating our 45ft 5th wheel. An inexperienced driver would have been challenged. The staff was very concerned and helpful making sure no damage occurred.

I love this KOA. This is my second stay and it is top notch in every way! The restrooms are cleaned all day long, so any time you enter it is freshly cleaned. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Beautifully set in the mountains right beside the Blue Ridge Parkway. Dave and Angie and their entire staff are so friendly and welcoming. We will be back many more times.

This campground is one of the best we’ve found. Lots to do yet our site was quiet and restful. Hosts are helpful & friendly. Easy excess to major roads.

Was an overnight stay. Impressed that camp store had a kitchen that provided food you could pick from a menu and they delivered it to your camp site. Never experienced that before and after an 7 hour pull was VERY appreciated! Very nice KOA

The grounds were beautiful. The access was easy for our big rig. Everyone was very nice. We will be back. Very close to the Prkway. Be sure to stop for the Amish bread down the road.

One of our favorite campgrounds. Conveniently located, friendly, helpful owners and staff. Large sites. Clean bathrooms/ showers/ laundry room. Nice, well maintained dog park. Family friendly-pool, outdoor games, activities, pond for fishing. Great bbq, pizza, ice cream. Again, one of our favorite places!!

Overall the campsite was well laid out the Lots were level so I didn't have to disconnect and put down jacks. I like the available smoked brisket with coleslaw meal that was offered when I first came for a very modest price. The overall scenery of the place was pleasant good

We’ve stayed in a lot of campgrounds and I honestly have to say that this campground is one of the top spots for us. We’re already planning the next stay with our extended families. People are extremely friendly and helpful. The site we had was near other sites but felt very secluded. Their tent sites are some of the coolest I’ve ever seen. Definitely on our “do again” list!

We only had an overnight, but truly met unexpected warm & friendliness. The sites were very clean and spacious. They were built taking in the true flavor of Appalachia taking in the forested, hilled topography. Wish we had more time to take advantage if all of it's offerings. It was highly suggested when we checked in and had the café deliver to our site.

Exceptional customer service. We arrived late, and even though staff weren't on-site, there was a clearly prepared instruction packet with my name on it waiting for us, which made check-in seamless. The campsite is very clean, including the bathrooms, and everything is well maintained. Our site had both electric hookups and a water spigot, which made the stay very convenient. There's also a stocked pond for bass and catfish, a swimming pool, and several activities to keep kids entertained. I've heard the BBQ here is good as well, though I didn't try it. We stayed for two nights over the Juneteenth weekend (2026) and had a great experience.

One of the nicest KOA's we've stayed at. Great layout, well maintained. Site was pretty level and good spacing. The store was amazing, they have great BBQ and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. There is a pool, playground and gem mining for the kids. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if ever in the area.
