Our stay was absolutely the best so far on our trip, #12th place we’ve stayed. We will be back for a longer stay. It was beautiful, nestled in the mountains and many things to see and do. They are right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, just stunning! Owners were so helpful and generous. Highly recommend as you can tell they truly care about their park and want to enjoyable for all. Our new favorite place to stay! The campground is well maintained, the amenities are great, and the BBQ is honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. Our children feel safe here, and we have met some of the best people at this campsite.

Very relaxing. Very friendly, helpful camp staff. Well maintained campground. Easy access to Mt. Airy, Galax and the Blue Ridge Music Center. We love it there and will be back again this year.

We only stayed one night but were impressed with how well this campground is maintained! The staff were great and accommodated our request for a site that was satellite dish friendly. It's easy to see why this campground is so popular.

We stayed at tent site #40. Site was super spacious and had picnic table,standing grill. Gazebo, fire pit. Site was also tree covered so you had tons on shade throughout the day. The staff at Fancy Gap was all incredibly friendly and helpful. Staff went above and beyond for us while we stayed. This campground has very clean restrooms/showers as well. We will absolutely be making Fancy Gap a regulu

We have stayed at Fancy Gap many times and the quality has always remained “top shelf”. Friendly helpful staff, clean camp areas and most importantly clean Bath and Showers. We have stayed in many KOA’s and will say, without a doubt, Fancy Gap is the best by a long shot.

Really enjoyed our stay! My husband and I just bought a travel trailer and this was our first trip. The staff is so friendly and our kids loved all the amenities.

We had a great time and w whine was very friendly! Beautiful campground. Like most KOA we stay at tho, we wish the sites were level. Instead of us having to use leveling blocks.

Bathrooms clean site was good. Only issue was a mix up in a pizza I payed cash for and gave the delivery person a tip. An employee came to my site and tried to get payment again. I explained I had payed cash. Got a email and voicemail the next day about same issue. I explained it again to person in office after responding to voicemail. So three failures on same issue.

This is One of the best KOA’s we have stayed at! Very well kept and clean! Bathrooms were a 10+. Sites were very level. Very Friendly staff! Nestled at an entrance to Blue Ridge Parkway, a hidden gem! We will be back hopefully soon!

Very beautiful campground. We weren’t wedged in and there are games the camp that can be played, such as badminton and ping pong. I loved the attention to details such as little plaques and signs. You almost felt like you were spending the time at someone’s home, than a campground. It’s one of the better KOA’s that I’ve ever been to.

I know it is new, but the Wifi could be better. Everyone is streaming now and our TV was dropped a few times which was a bit annoying, but other than that we had a great time. Highly recommend the campground. The staff is always very friendly.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

At any time while you are here on site, let us know you are having challenges with wifi. Sometimes it's not our system and you need to restart. Just today we showed our guest it was not your system, but his. Thanks

Exceptional customer service. We arrived late, and even though staff weren't on-site, there was a clearly prepared instruction packet with my name on it waiting for us, which made check-in seamless. The campsite is very clean, including the bathrooms, and everything is well maintained. Our site had both electric hookups and a water spigot, which made the stay very convenient. There's also a stocked pond for bass and catfish, a swimming pool, and several activities to keep kids entertained. I've heard the BBQ here is good as well, though I didn't try it. We stayed for two nights over the Juneteenth weekend (2026) and had a great experience.

One of the nicest KOA's we've stayed at. Great layout, well maintained. Site was pretty level and good spacing. The store was amazing, they have great BBQ and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. There is a pool, playground and gem mining for the kids. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if ever in the area.
