We loved our stay and our campsite! Super friendly staff, we stayed at a site with a paw pen for the 3 of our dogs which was very convenient! Campground itself had many outdoor games, corn hole, ring toss, ping pong and an arcade! My husband fished in their pond and he ordered pizza from their store which was super convenient one evening we got in too late to grocery shop. All in all, we loved it!

45 Paw Pen was clean, spacious, with a large paw pen. Had the BBQ Pizza from the onsite deli which was good!

We recently spent 8 nights at the Fancy Gap KOA and really enjoyed our stay, The campground and facilities are very clean and well.maintained, The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dave and Angie are very nice owners. We have been coming to this campground for approximately 9 years and it is one of our favorites, We travel with our cat and he enjoys watching the chip monks and squirrels.

The people who work there are super friendly and helpful. We ordered from the menu and the food was delicious. There's so much to see and do around the vicinity. The area is beautiful. We will definitely be returning.

I have been camping at Fancy Gap KOA campground several times but this time we rented one of the larger cabins. It was nice and clean and had everything we needed. They are limited for space and sleeping but very comfortable. The bunk beds are strictly for children so should not be in the count for adults or older kids. The campground is kept up nicely and their is obviously pride in ownership.

Had a great stay. Staff there was excellent . We traveled with some friends and they made it possible to be side by side in sites. Food delivery was very good, as well as firewood delivery. Nice sites with trees.

This is one of my favorite KOAs. It is tucked back in the woods just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The staff is awesome. The bathrooms are the cleanest bathrooms I have seen at a campground. They also offer delicious home made BBQ. I definitely will be back. If you want to get off the beaten path for a day or longer, this is the place for you!

The whole staff made us feel welcomed and our business was appreciated. The park is clean and well taken care of, the location was perfect and easy to off 1-77.

The camp was clean, well managed and had good amenities. Every site we looked at had good features. It is quiet and relaxing. Many sites were heavily wooded and some very open. The quaint little towns on all sides of Fancy Gap had wonderful shops and festivals. We will be back.

We’re senior citizens and it was our first time tent camping in years. The site we had, 83A, was large and comes with exclusive use of a large pavilion with electricity and a sink with water, which we utilized every day. The office, picnic area, restrooms, and laundry were all impeccable. The owners do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable, including delivering the BBQ we ordered.

Clean campground. All the people who work at the campground are so very nice. They serve great barbecue and brisket sandwiches or plates where it is smoked all day at the KOA of Fancy Gap at great prices. Also, pizza. I highly recommend KOA of Fancy Gap. My husband and I stay every year. It is the best kept secret campground.

This is the nicest KOA JOURNEY we have ever stayed at! The sites are nice size, the bathrooms are immaculate, the campground is so clean and the staff is the friendliest group! The food is good too! I can’t say enough good things about this campground!

Just an over night stay as we were traveling through the area. We had some issues trying to get our class A level as the site wasn’t. We’ve stayed at many KOA campgrounds over the years but have never found more friendly, helpful staff as what greeted us at Fancy Gap! What a pleasant experience! Keep up the great personal touches that make this unique!

We were met the moment we pulled up by Angie with a smile ! Check in took like 20 seconds!! We were escorted to our site by another friendly employee. We ordered some food that evening and it was fantastic !! We will definitely be back !

We loved our time at this campground! The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable; always smiling! Our cabin (#47) was so nice and clean; the bed was comfy and we slept great! We loved Dave's yummy Beef Brisket & sides and really appreciated the no charge campsite delivery��� This was our 1st ever KOA campground stay and we are telling all our friends to go there! Thanks, Angie & Dave!

All the nice touches I wished every Campground had, but never do. From the in person greeting, site space and decorations, and cleanliness….all exceeding expectations. This location would be a great training campground for every KOA owner to visit.

Campground is a great place to camp. It’s very wooded and hilly but the staff guides you to sites that you can just fit in depending on your size. All of the amenities are here, including barbecue cooked on site. We would stay again

Great location near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt Airy NC (Andy's Mayberry), and Galax VA (Birth of Bluegrass). Extremely well kept facilities and decent sized sites.

Exceptional customer service. We arrived late, and even though staff weren't on-site, there was a clearly prepared instruction packet with my name on it waiting for us, which made check-in seamless. The campsite is very clean, including the bathrooms, and everything is well maintained. Our site had both electric hookups and a water spigot, which made the stay very convenient. There's also a stocked pond for bass and catfish, a swimming pool, and several activities to keep kids entertained. I've heard the BBQ here is good as well, though I didn't try it. We stayed for two nights over the Juneteenth weekend (2026) and had a great experience.

One of the nicest KOA's we've stayed at. Great layout, well maintained. Site was pretty level and good spacing. The store was amazing, they have great BBQ and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. There is a pool, playground and gem mining for the kids. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if ever in the area.
