MORE THAN A BEAUTIFUL COLORADO RV PARK AND CAMPGROUND…A TRUE COLORADO CAMPING ADVENTURE!

We welcome you to our newer Colorado KOA campground, located on the Colorado River at I-70 Exit 97, 17 miles west of Glenwood Springs and adjacent to the “old west” town of Silt. Glenwood Springs West/Colorado River KOA is the convenient stopping point on your way east or west, whether you are looking for a comfortable one-night stay or a multi-day adventure basecamp.

We offer RV sites, Deluxe Cabins and Camping Cabins, as well as a few tent sites. This is a place, so beautiful, that you won't want to leave, and you'll find so many nearby attractions and activities that you'll want to make time for them all. You will enjoy spectacular views of the beautiful Roan Plateau, the Mamm Peaks and Battlement Mesa, and over 2,800 feet of frontage along the majestic Colorado River, where you can stroll along the banks and watch for bald eagles, cast a line for trout or enjoy a tubing experience.

Glenwood Springs West/Colorado River KOA makes a great basecamp for exploring western Colorado. Scenic drives on excellent roads will take you east to Glenwood Springs — and its famous hot springs – and beyond to the world-famous ski/resort towns of Aspen and Vail, or west to Rifle and its mountain parks, the wineries and orchards in Palisade and the majestic Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction. Click on “LOCAL AREA” for details.

The Glenwood Springs West/Colorado River KOA was created from scratch starting in 2015. Everything is newer and “purpose-built” for your enjoyment. You will register at our Welcome Lodge, which has a convenience store, lounge, games, TV, library, laundry, showers, and changing rooms. Outside the Lodge, you will find our large heated pool, sun patio, playground, and our splash park to run through on the way to the riverside trail. Other amenities include our newer west side “family-style” bathhouse and laundry, a huge dog park, a boat launch, a riverfront picnic area, enhanced trails and a dump station.

We offer the most beautiful riverfront sites around! Book one of our 14 premium back-in deluxe riverfront patio sites that sit right on the Colorado River. Offering a sidewalk from your RV door to a spacious patio with a private pavilion, gas BBQ & patio furnishings, along with your own separate fire pit patio and comfy chairs to take in the amazing views. We also offer plenty of spacious pull-through sites with or without patios and even economical back-in sites for a quick over night stay, providing something for everyone. Our RV sites offer full hook-up (with most offering 50 amp), fire pits, patio furniture or picnic tables and hangout areas and cable TV with 50+ channels. Don't have an RV- no problem- take advantage of one of our Deluxe Cabins with full kitchen & bath or our "not so rustic" Camping Cabins set near the bathrooms, all in a wonderful setting along the "little river" offering a quiet reprieve from your day's adventures.

Most importantly, we have a great desire to make your stay enjoyable. Our staff are campers who know what it takes to make other campers happy. They will make you feel appreciated and welcome!

Harvey Gap Reservoir

Harvey Gap State Park is a favorite spot for anglers in the winter and summer. Anglers catch catfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch, crappie, rainbow trout and northern pike at Harvey Gap. Ice Fishing draws anglers to Harvey Gap in the winter. Before heading to the park, check the current fishing and ice conditions. The reservoir is about 190 surface acres when full.Harvey Gap also offers shaded picnic tables by the water, boating with small boats and a swim beach. Harvey Gap is a day-use area, but overnight camping is available nearby at Rifle Falls State Park and Rifle Gap State Park, which are approximately six miles west of Harvey Gap. The lake sits at an elevation of 6,500 feet in an area of cedar and sagebrush, but the lakeshore has many shady cottonwood trees. Visitors may see a variety of wildlife, including migrating waterfowl. The Grand Hogback, the ridge that marks the edge of the Rocky Mountains, runs along the south end of the reservoir.

Hanging Lake Trail

Hanging Lake is a National Natural Landmark in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado. It was formed by a geological fault, leaving a travertine deposition that resulted in a stunning turquoise lake suspended in the canyon. The lake is fed by Bridal Veil Falls, which deposits minerals that give the water its vibrant color. Reservations to park & fee required.
