Deluxe Cabins not well maintained. Bathroom sink did not drain, most of the drawers in the kitchen were broken and falling off when pulled. Pull out couch arm rest was heavily peeling. Informed the Office and was told they would report it but they only have one maintenance guy to repair things. This was done on the first full day. Nothing was ever fixed. So great! We loved the hotel-like accommodations and being right there near the pool and shop. Would love to check out the deluxe cabin right there on the beach next time though. Everyone was super nice and helpful!

The campground was well maintained, many activities for children and families. The only complaint was stayed in a cabin and the cleaning detail could have been a bit better. The ac units were covered in dirt/dust in the vents- the ceiling fans had dust hanging off the blades, went to use some dishes and they were dirty.

The cabin was dirty with sand all over including the beds, hair in the bathroom, door hanging off its hinges, AC broken, and german cockroaches. Water slide gone, hot tub jets broken. The seemingly resident kids around 15 years old on bounce-pad bullied our 3 children this past week. That night our golf cart stolen, crashed, beach chairs thrown around camp. Security and New management needed.

We stayed in the suites above the office/general store. Our suite we could hear a lot of the outside noises around us. The view was amazing and the spaciousness of the room was excellent. The activities they had was fun for our 6 year old and they also had fun activities for the older kids and adults. The front desk staff were always very sweet and helpful. We will definitely be back�ϋ�

The website was easy to use. I got help modifying my reservation & that was easy and appreciated. The cabin was clean & A/C & fan very effective in the heat. Outdoor showers near beach were super convenient. The major detraction was the bathrooms-- dirty floors & counters, toilets clogged and sinks with doors underneath that were either missing or off hinges.

Very nice campground. Only things that would have made it better is if the Wifi was better and an oven and another stove burner. We had 2 burners but one of them didn’t work.

Never have I been disappointed with this KOA but this time The bathrooms were disgusting, shower areas were disgusting. I never once saw anyone cleaning either of the two. The hot tub wasn’t hot which was disappointing because we went on a chilly evening and were looking forward to it. The wifi didn’t work at our cabin at all so no tv at night. 2 employee were rude. We had the best week at this KOA!! The staff was all so friendly and the amenities were top notch. Music every night by the pool plus easy beach access made this a really enjoyable trip. We will be back!!

Our stay went well, we enjoy the pool, beach, & activities. However, we told the front desk about our shower being broken in our cabin on our first day. They never came out to look at it. We pay for a cabin to enjoy a private restroom/shower. Our shower was either scorching hot or ice cold, it was very hard to get it to a comfortable temperature due to the handle being broken.

First cabin, the air conditioner was messed up so we had to switch. The next cabin we went to, the ac was trying to play catch up the whole time. You could see sun light about a cm around the whole door, probably weather stripping would help. This was also a problem when the neighbor cabin started a fire so our whole cabin smelled like smoke. We had a wonderful time. The pool was great. Enjoyed the cafe and live music. The beach was beautiful though the last step getting onto the beach was treacherous for someone older - me. The showers were not cleaned enough and the shower curtain was too grungy for me. The camping cabin felt like it was a bit past its prime. Staff were all lovely.

Stay was great, this is our 2nd time here. We stayed in a cabin 503, would like to see a better cooling option as the unit just cannot keep up due to no insulation in the cabins. Also there was a large gap in the door that makes it hard to make sure door is locked plus letting in lots of bugs.

The room itself had a good layout with plenty of areas to stash supplies. However, it was not thoroughly cleaned with brown crust around the base of the toilet, a moldy shower curtain, sticky dining table & counters, dust/dirt in the cabinets/drawers, and a coating of sand/dust across the floors/tops of the furniture. The worst was the music/bass from 8AM-10PM. Rooms or pool need relocated.

Everything was really great. Literally the ONLY thing I could think to criticize is that the bathrooms/showers were a little dirtier than other KOAs I have stayed at, but its understandable considering that it’s next to the beach and hosts a ton of people.

Very disappointed with my stay this time. Been to this campground many times over the past 20 years. Rented a basic cabin and it had not been cleaned. Dog hair under the bed, mattresses were old and stained. The bathrooms and showers were filthy. Stayed Monday to Friday and they were never cleaned during that time. Pool was also neglected - hair floating everywhere. Staff acted distant.

Great location. Friendly staff. Nice to hit the beach during low tide, and the pool during rough surf. Fun poolside environment. Biggest problem is cleanliness. We thought the cabins were cleaned before our stay. We were sweeping the cabin, and there was food under the bed with ants on it. The bathrooms need to be cleaned more frequently and he showers were dirty. Overall good but can be better.

We have been here many times, both in and off season, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly KOA staff as always. Amenities and activities can be excellent for families. Really like the new text alerts for activities and important updates on the very large, beautiful grounds. However, unfortunately our most recent visit (April 2024) had a few issues. Even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI and only two cable channels, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future, as we would still like to return!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
