The ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful when we needed to contact a taxi company and purchase a cell phone charger after spending several days camping and hiking on the MST. The campgrounds and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. There were hedges in between the tent sites offering some privacy. I wish there had been a fire ring at the tent site.

The place is the most affordable to stay around Cape Hatteras. Do not get confused, a non expensive place but with the facilities and customer service of an expensive one. People that work there are very nice and receptive for any inquiry you may have. The extra activities like the bingo and cart riders for the kids are phenomenal. Great place to be with your family and kids.

As I’m sure you know the flooding continues to be a problem in the campground and while it is not entirely the fault of of the KOA more can be done rectify the situation. additionally, we found a lot of the facilities to be in disrepair /dirty.

Called before our trip to verify that the hot tub was working. We drove 6 1/2 hours and found the hot tub was broken and waiting for parts. They straight out lied to us and other couples who had been there for a week before us. Even while there they said it was working because the water was warm. No jets!!! Also the bathrooms and showers were filthy.

Everything was great activities for the kids were very well planned. Only negative was bathhouses looked like they were worn out: loose faucets coming off the walls, soap dispensers hanging open. (personally some sort of matt for shower areas that allows water/dirt/sand to flow thru but you can walk on without getting bottom of feet gritty). Restrooms and showers were clean. Campground was very well maintained. Staff was very friendly. Lots of things for the kids to do. Being right on the beach was nice. I have nothing to complain about.

We always have a great time at KOA. They delivered wood and ice whenever we needed it. The pool was excellent! There as always fun things happening! Great stay!

Loved our stay this year. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the grounds are well maintained and clean. Bathrooms needed more attention a couple times but just a small thing. We love the Hatteras KOA and appreciate all the work done to make it a wonderful experience.

All staff were extremely helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived. Every encounter was met with a smile and immediate accommodation. It was really nice. We had a blast! Will recommend to friends and family.

We have been here many times, both in and off season, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly KOA staff as always. Amenities and activities can be excellent for families. Really like the new text alerts for activities and important updates on the very large, beautiful grounds. However, unfortunately our most recent visit (April 2024) had a few issues. Even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI and only two cable channels, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future, as we would still like to return!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
