Koa Hatteras is a wonderful stay. It's well kept and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and tiki bar. Its well set up for little kids too. We stayed in their hotel suite and it was fantastic. Our only drawback was the beach. This site has beach access but the beach was very eroded and there was a lot of seaweed and slime. It was difficult to enjoy.

Thank you for fixing the stairs leading to the beach. I appreciate you sweeping the sand off the boards leading to the steps. It eased my fear of falling. I also appreciate the wifi upgrade as I am back in college and had to do some homework while I was visiting. The only downside of my visit was the lack of warm water in the shower in the central bath house. Brrrrr..

We love the rustic cabins. The heaters were a good addition. Some feesback: 1. AC units in the rustic cabins are...rustic themselves. 2. Firewood was delivered an hr later, Thankfully you have an after hours service that was very accommodating. 3. The massive bounce thing is awesome, but please, can you maintain the grounds? Small things, we enjoyed our stay and plan to come back for year 3!

Celebration for Mothers day. It was my mother's first trip to OBX. The accommodations were excellent. Services pleplentiful. The staff are friendly and welcoming. So far, this is my favorite KOA to stay at for vacations.

We had a wonderful experience for Mother's Day weekend. We had 3 units between family members and the accommodations and amenities were great. It was so refreshing to see kids playing and having a great time that was not on an electronic device. Everything and everyone was great. If I had one negative it would be how light our room was all night. We were in room 302 and the first night I woke up

Great facility and setup, awesome communication- bath houses were nice and clean Did not sleep well because there was an animal either somewhere in the cabin or under it, but will definitely stay again.

I either read or was told that “all cabins are equipped with heat and a/c” and that was not the case. My cabin had 2 a/c units only. It was rainy and cold that weekend and I would have brought a small heater had I known. Not receiving any kind of refund for not being able to do anything because of the said weather wasn’t great either.

The staff were all so friendly! So kind and helpful. We went on care camps weekend, and it was such a fun time to go that also helps the charity. This resort is pristine, some of the best amenities a koa has to offer. Great activities, awesome pool, and access to the beach. Sunset and sunrise views every day! Awesome KOA.

Check in was fast. Grounds looked to be well maintained. "Most" of the employees were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a "Suite" not an RV. Suggestion: Place the wire basket that had the 2 or 3 brown wash ckoth towels (to be used to wash dishes we later found out) next to the kitchen sink instead of the bathroom. Also, install a soap dispenser or stand alone dispenser next to kitchen sink.

We stayed in cabin 503 and it wasn't in the best condition. Duct tape on the wall and the lock had recently been replaced it looked like but it looked like it wasnt sealing right. It was clean though.

It was our first time staying at a KOA for our family and it was wonderful! It met every expectation and more. Our family has already planned to come back next year and make it an annual occurrence. Thank you for accommodating all of us.

Very kind and accommodating front desk/store staff. Tons to do for the kids. Great pool and jacuzzi. Golf cart was a fun treat! Location across from the fishing pier was great For us. One piece of feedback is the outside of the cabins could use a fresh coat of paint.

The cabin we stayed in was not cleaned. We found a cockroach under the table hair in the shower. And a lot of the window seal trim on the outside was rotting. Overall was not a good stay we left early because of this. The beach access was closed in when I made my reservation there was nothing noted about that. One of the main reasons we come. We will NOT BE STAYING AT ANOTHER KOA EVER!

The counter help severely messed up by reservations, payment and stay. I had 5 cabins reserved. They were incorrect. Charged the wrong account. The lock on the door was broken. It took 1.5 hours just to get to our lodging. The GM was off and so was the Assitant Manager for many days and were not available to assist or help with issues. The escort was amazing and the grounds well kept.

Thank you KOA for making our VERY first KOA stay amazing and at OBX!!! That's two checked off my personal mist-do list! Our accommodations were so modern, clean and COMFORTABLE! We loved the access to the beach, your gift shop and spotless shower/restroom facilities! You rock! Loved the pet shower and outdoor shower for fun-in sun activities! Bummer on fire ban. You refunded me and told me.

I am long time visitor to your campground. This time, we stayed in Cabin 1646 and were disappointed. Cabin had no grill. We requested one twice from the office and were told maintenance would locate us one. We never received one. We finally asked and used our neighbor's. Cabin door was almost impossible to lock. Room with bunk beds had one light out. Refrigerator door handle was loose.

Everything is perfect but the mattresses in the cabins we will always return to the KOA resort in cape hatteras. Aside from the mattresses. We can bring mattress pads.

What a great stay! I highly recommend a suite over the main building. The spacious clean room was perfect for relaxing. While still having a great balcony overlooking the pool and the park. The park has easy access to the beach and a great spot for watching the sunset! Thank you for an amazing stay.

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
