Staff was very friendly and helpful. We unfortunately had to cut our trip short due to a mandatory evacuation, but we received a refund for our last night promptly and that was much appreciated!

First, I had a small glitch with my reservation that was entirely my fault. Heather in the front desk was amazing and helped me rectify my mistake. Then came the evacuation. I was really impressed with this KOA. The area was very clean and neat all the bathrooms and showers we very clean and maintained. We stayed in one of the rooms and we will be staying with them again next visit to OBX.

Friendliest staff of any koa I've been to.This koa is perfect the beach on one side and the bay on the other. The hot tub is huge and everything is realy clean

We had an AWESOME! stay. I can't say enough nice things about the staff that works there. Very, very clean and well maintained. We stay here every year and will continue to do so. Thank you Cape Hatteras KOA for always making our stay a great one!

Not many hotels in area. So we discovered a few years ago they rent rooms not just cabins and campsites. The rooms are more spacious than typical hotel and easily equivalent to a 3 star hotel.

Great staff. Only issue floor was soft by toilet bowl. We have been at this cabin for several years and should be fixed.

Cabin was clean but I did have a couple large bugs in it. Normal for the beach I assume. Grill did not work but a new gas tank was brought. Coffee maker did not work so you brought me a new one . Everything else was good.

The campinsite is very nice.But I lose my peace of mind and confidence was finding cockroaches in room 304 of the main building.So every night I had to store my staff in a big plastic container with lid.

KOA worker, was very intoxicated at the pool Sunday night 9/20/26. The Man approached my wife, while she was with me, "her husband" and my brother. He tried shaking her hand, and made a big fuss, then proceeded to tell her he was a KOA worker. He was persistent, with me and my brother. My brother has tried to convince us of camping, but this incident ruined may have ruined any possibility.

For the fist time in many years of staying here I was very dissapointed. After splurging on a deluxe cabin to make our short stay easier (typically we would stay in the rustic camping cabins), I quickly regretted my choice. The cabin is not being maintained. Good activities. Nice pool. Playground and jump pad. The camping cabin itself needs to be switched out with a new one. Door didn't shut properly. Lot of wood decay from saltwater.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had one issue with a rented golf cart but the staff there went above and beyond to help bring a positive resolution and our family was very pleased with our stay.

The amenities (playground & pool) were the only highlights. The deluxe cabin (accessible) was incredibly dirty. Mold in the shower,dirty dishes, ants in the kitchen area, sand all in the loft area, and cake on the pull out sofa from a previous guest (you could tell they had a party since there was confetti still on the ground and the cake on the cushions). Super disappointed for $170/night.

We loved it here. We can see the sunrise and the sunset in one place!!!! That was amazing. If I had anything to say for improvement is more older people activity. Like: pickleball, shuffleboard. We'll be back!!!!

The room was not a cabin like I thought I booked. So it wasn't as quiet as I hoped and NOT clean !!! Toilet was not clean The gal in the store was in f no help when I asked what she would recommend to do in the area. Young dark hair didn't want to talk at all just get me to pay for my purchase and go away. She should not have that job ... the area Is beautiful !!! I'd recommend it highly!!

The location is GORGEOUS and we appreciated the member sociaL. We were disappointed by our cabin. It had NO parking &was very outdated for the $$$ that we paid&grill was very dirty!we drove 13 hrs &had requested to be by the ocean when we made the reservation in March.we were very far away from beach &very close to loud bar events so it was hard to sleep which made for an exhausting drive home.

We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Large pool is refreshing. Short walk to the beach. Lots of activities to do. Nice staff and beautiful views. We will definitely stay again.

Other than seeing what you call a palmetto bug(once and promptly removed, had deep woods off sprayed on it, which died on its own and ants, all of which was reported to the staff that was cleaning cabin 500(who said she will report it to maintenance). Other than that, we enjoyed your staff and amenities.

We really enjoyed staying in this cabin with a view of the ocean. It was clean & comfortable. The short walk to the beach & the campfire at night all added to the fun.

We love coming to the KOA every year. Always something to do, the pool beach and jump pad keep the kids busy and tired! The staff is always friendly and attentive when we need anything. The only downfall is the cabins need some updating and floor reinforcements. We were worried our bouncy 6 year old would fall through the soft floors

We had to check out 1 1/2 days early due to an unexpected family emergency involving the passing of our grandmother. While we completely understand that policies are in place, we were disappointed that KOA was unwilling to provide a refund or credit for the unused time given the circumstances.

We stayed at a deluxe cabin - very clean and nice! There are so many great activities for the kids too! We loved the pool! I also liked getting the text reminders of events that were scheduled for the day! Friendly staff! We had a great time!

We love coming to the KOA at Hatteras. We always stay in the studio bungalow over looking the beach. We come to the beach to relax and rest. There are 2 things that prevent that. The AC unit constantly recycles and disrupts our sleep and the mattress and pillows need to be replaced. This time the bed really hurt my back. Thank you.

Wasn’t ready at checkin, told they didn’t have an eta on when it would be done. It was mostly clean when we got to it. Rains had made huge puddles, parking was odd or maybe the other ppl parked wrong. Hot water was perfect! Location was great. Bed was like sleeping on a pull out couch and not a good one. This is the second time we've stayed at this campground. It is very nice. This year it was a last minute pivot (long story) so we were unable to book the premium sites by the office. We had site 226 and it was closer to the beach so that was a plus. They were still cleaning up from a nor'easter so there was some debris around that they were cleaning up. No big deal. Our site did not offer a lot of shade and our awnings didn't help either. So I'd get a sight where your camper shields the sun. Centrally located to lots of things to do. Office staff very nice. We ended up having to evacuate because another nor'easter was coming in. Aww the adventure of RVing!

I love this spot, especially on October. We travel by RV, but there are plenty of cabin options for other family and friends to meet us there. This year we were chased out by a storm/mandatory evacuation, but staff handles the evacuation smoothly and refunds were given instantly. I try to come every year.
