It was great! Easy in, easy out, clean, great stay! Great location if you want to be near the beach in the Outer Banks of NC! :) We also ate at the cafe and it was yummy.

We like this campground! This our second trip to the OBX. Even though we were evacuated because of an incoming Nor’Eastern, it was a very nice visit. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We did not use any facilities other than camp store which was nicely stocked. All of our hooks worked as advertised. It doesn’t get much better than this KOA!

This is my favorite spot and I was bitterly disappointed that the weather forced us out. But the mandatory evacuation came from county authorities so there was no choice. The KOA staff gave immediate refunds and the evacuation went smoothly.

We were camping during the nor'easter that came in on September 22nd. Due to road damage, we were stranded in Rodanthe for five more days. The staff at this KOA were extremely helpful to all the campers. They texted each day to update us on road conditions and to see if we needed everything. We definitely want to return. We commend this KOA on its customer service!

Stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every night…even during the remanates of the Hurricane with the wind and rain! Hated the beach access was washed away so we couldn’t use the normal accesses! Still had a great time and this is a great KOA campground! We’ll be back!

Perfect location se visit both ends of the Outer Banks little towns, pool and hot tub still open in October, it was perfect for us

October 2026, clean up continues from the previous nor-Easter storm but everything is open and overall the park is in great shape. Lots of organization and very friendly atmosphere..

We were there during the nor'easter in September and couldn't leave due to road at Pea Island being washed away. The staff was absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. They upgraded us to a nicer and safer site away from the ocean at a reduced rate. They had activities to keep us busy making our stay even more enjoyable. Can't say enough good things about this KOA and it's staff! Great job!!

It was a nice well maintained campground. My only issue was the reconstruction of the dunes from the nor’easter. There was a constant drone of construction equipment from 7:00 am until dark. I think being compensated for this annoyance would be in order!

During our vacation, a Northeastern storm came and washed away Rt12. We stayed an extra 5 days until a temporary road was open. The staff were amazing!! Many stopped by to check us. They called everyday to follow up with us and most importantly they were compassionate. The amenities in this campground are amazing!

Campground is great. Beach access is easy and the view is beautiful. The facilities are nice, clean and comfortable. Only draw back for me was the fact the the K9 Park is not centrally located. I had great beach access, but to let dogs play off leash for a while you better be prepared for a hike. They also don't have any shaded seating area for pup parents in the park. Otherwise. Wonderful!

Evan though we had the nor-eastern hit during our stay, the crew looked after us and accommodated our needs to stay safe. We were moved to a site that was away from the break on the dunes where the ocean water was coming in. The day after the crew was working on getting the dunes back up. The visitors that were staying in cabins was upgraded to better cabins up off the ground. Love the beach.

We had the pleasure of staying here during the recent storm that cut off travel to and from Hatteras Island. The staff was amazing in supporting those of us stuck there, as well as keeping us all informed as events unfolded. This was our 4th stay and won't be our last.

Our stay was very good once we got past the nor’easter that came through mid vacation. The guys worked tirelessly to get the campground back in order after all the dunes were washed away. The facility was very nice before we had the storm.. And they worked very hard to get things back to the way they were which they had a lot of work to do. I can’t wait to come back.

We were stranded due to a nor easter storm that washed out hwy 12 as well as the road in Ocracoke near the ferry. They were excellent with information, assistance and special daily rates. Not only was KOA great, locals and restaurants couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. We had a great get away even with the unexpected storm damage. Thank you KOA and Rodanthe, see you again next year!

we had a great experience and loved our campsite 106 unfortunately we had to leave a few days early due to the threating weather but will be back in the spring of next year and we also appreciated the refund due to bad weather that was very nice!

It was perfect weather, but the ignorant neighbors that have barking dogs is unreal. And maybe you could spread out the weekly renters more throughout the grounds. Plus your hot tub needs to be up to regulation temp to keep germs from growing, as I came home with a badder infection and was in the hot tub once and it was just warm, so I should have know better and not stayed in.

Fantastic park. Great showers. Love the covered picnic tables. We just had to skeedaddle due to weather, otherwise we would’ve loved to have stayed a few more days. Praying you are all safe!

Everything was great, the only issues I wish I knew before booking was the amount of burrs in the sand at the dune sites. My dogs immediately stepped on them and both had small punctures and scrapes in the toe webbing making them not want to even walk for the entire stay. We will definitely get a site on grass next time.

The sites need an upgrade!! For what you pay they should be better keep. The pool and staff were amazing. The store very poorly stocked. Work in appearance needs help.

I took my camper and my brother and sister in law rented a cabin. We never go to bars and ware excited to enjoy ourselves at the tiki bar. A KOA employee was hitting on my sister in law in front of my brother and I. She told him to leave then my brother. When the employee didn’t go, I made him go. We had 1 drink and we left the bar at 8:30 because of this. He ruined the only night we had togethe

We stayed 5 nights, enjoyed the beach proximity, pleasant quiet neighbors , and overall cleanliness. But the campground seemed to be geared for dogs! Two spots over, right along the road, a family had three dogs kept in the kennel outside. Every time someone walked by, the dogs howled! That family should not have been given a spot on the main thoroughfare! Now I know what pet friendly means!

Big campground with lots of rv sites. Everything was clean and well run. The beach is just over the dunes, so nice to hear the sounds of the surf day and night. It’s also conveniently located about half way down the outer banks.

This is the second time we've stayed at this campground. It is very nice. This year it was a last minute pivot (long story) so we were unable to book the premium sites by the office. We had site 226 and it was closer to the beach so that was a plus. They were still cleaning up from a nor'easter so there was some debris around that they were cleaning up. No big deal. Our site did not offer a lot of shade and our awnings didn't help either. So I'd get a sight where your camper shields the sun. Centrally located to lots of things to do. Office staff very nice. We ended up having to evacuate because another nor'easter was coming in. Aww the adventure of RVing!

I love this spot, especially on October. We travel by RV, but there are plenty of cabin options for other family and friends to meet us there. This year we were chased out by a storm/mandatory evacuation, but staff handles the evacuation smoothly and refunds were given instantly. I try to come every year.
