Great cabin and KOA resort. We were late arriving and arrived just as they were closing up, they took the time and got us checked in. This is the first time we stayed in a cabin and it was really well setup and clean. Also, they had a nice setup for our dog.

Stayed in a suite for the first time, it exceeded my expectation. As usual, the staff was pleasant and helpful. Had it not been for the cable going out I wouldn't have anything less than perfect to say.

Enjoyed the location. Cabin we stayed in needed updating for paint. Comfortable beds. Bathroom sink stopper disconnected from Popup. Kuerig coffee maker did not penetrate K-cups if you did not pay attention to checking for proper filtering. We were traveling with our family. They stayed in their RV but heavy rain created a short-circuit on the electrical supply and the pole caught on fire.

Thanksgiving was cancelled at the last minute and moved to Friday, horrible. Horrible. The Hot tub was not working, with no notification from management when I booked, when I checked in, or by text. We got texts about everything else. Horrible. Will reconsider booking again here after 6 years of bringing the whole family for Thanksgiving.

Great location. Quieter than further north on OBX. This was our second year doing Thanksgiving week at this location and they do a great job with things. The deluxe cabin was a wonderful fit for our family of 6 (plus dog). Last year we loved getting in the hot tub, but that was out of operation for the duration of our stay. It was disappointing, but the only real negative to a great week.

The hot tub was not functioning while we were there, which is a bummer because the hot tub was one of the reasons we decided to stay here. There were a lot of fun things for the kids to do, the cabin and bathrooms were clean, and we had a good time, but the hot tub situation was disappointing. It would have also been nice if the pool was heated.

The campground is always very clean and the staff is always friendly. We love the location and how quiet it is during the stay. The only suggestion I have would be to add an additional light to the porch of the cabin we stayed in to help better see the stairs at night. Otherwise we will be back for our 5 year next year.

The cabins are always clean and well stocked. They even provided food/water dishes for pets! Staff is friendly and check—in/check-out is easy.

The cabin does need some TLC. The cabinets are peeling in places. The wood paneling by the TV over the table and in the bedroom over the wall mounted lights have a good layer of dust. It’s not very visible in the daylight but is definitely seen when lights are turned on after dark. The table has lots of crumbs and sand between the pieces of wood. The sofa is peeling too, slipcovers would be good

We always enjoy our stay here. I would recommend some slight fixes, however, to the deluxe cabins. The shower handle in our cabin was broken and extremely hard to turn, making it difficult to adjust the hot/cold water. I would also recommend taking the unused air conditioner units down, as they are very rusty and unsightly. Other than some cosmetic issues, we have a wonderful stay as always!

The best customer service at any campground I've been to! The staff from the front desk, to those who maintain the grounds and deliver firewood were so gracious and helpful. I was able to check in just a little early to store our belongings, which was beyond helpful. Because of that, I joined the members reward program and now will stay with KOA in my travels.

The weather was cold and the hot tub was under maintenance but it didn’t stop our fun! We played volleyball, enjoyed the rec room and bbqed! It was a great time!

Our cabin was run down and not very clean. I even saw a cocroach. I went off season when I'm sure they are not fully staffed. Not saying I didn't enjoy my time, but I was disappointed to say the least.

negatives - we stayed in a cabin, elevated above ground - entire building seemed to sway when the wind was blowing - poor wifi / internet , had to call tech support & was able to get internet connection for ~ 24 hours but then lost it and had to go without for the other 3 days we were there positives - relaxing environment & friendly staff - Halloween activities were fun to watch

I love KOA camp grounds. I’ve stayed at many. This is a beautiful location. I’ve stayed at this KOA and have recommended them to multiply people. Until this last stay. I’m 99-100% sure we had bed bugs in our cabin, we got up just ate night. Told staff. They came out and changed linen and said we were good to go. Talked to manager, we checked out 2 nights early (They did refund the 2 nights).

We have been here many times, both in and off season, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly KOA staff as always. Amenities and activities can be excellent for families. Really like the new text alerts for activities and important updates on the very large, beautiful grounds. However, unfortunately our most recent visit (April 2024) had a few issues. Even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI and only two cable channels, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future, as we would still like to return!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
