The campground was very clean and well run. The front desk employees were friendly and helpful.

The staff was really helpful. Plenty of amenities. The handrails on the rustic cabins were in need of repair but other than that the grounds were well maintained.

The staff was friendly and accomodating. Our kids always love the aminities that KOA has to offer. I was VERY satisfied with the vacation rental we booked. I will 100% be spending future spring breaks at the Cape Hatteras KOA!

You don't clean the bathrooms. The bathrooms were constantly full of mud and hair, toilets clogged. I never saw one staff cleaning. Also sand would be much more preferred over the level of mud. Some staff were quite rude.

We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins. We have a Sr. Dog who has difficulty with stairs so the long ramp was perfect and he deck gave him a place to hang out! Kitchen was well-equipped and cabin was very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much—the only problem was that we couldn’t stay longer! Thank you for all you do to make KOA campgrounds such great places!

Love this campground. My only complaint is that we rented a deluxe cabin for $290/nt and the shower fitting was Jerry rigged and was almost impossible to turn on. They had a part on back order. This was disappointing, as we spent lots of money per night for a shower that didn’t work. The hot tub was also closed. Aside from those hiccups, it is a great location and campground full of ameniti

Nice bed, clean house, nice and respectful staff (except one who I assume is a new employee), nice and warm house, quick accommodation, and flexibility for late-night checking. You can walk around and the place is just awesome.

We have stayed with our camper and have stayed in your suites.during the winter months as we are from PA. Your staff is always helpful and the campground is very nice. Each time we come we see improvements. One suggestion we stayed in suite 301 this last trip and a broom and dustpan would be nice because the grandkids brought in sand and no way to sweep the floor. keep up the good work

Had a great time at the KOA and Outer Banks. The only complaint was, we ordered firewood before the store closed on the day we arrived, and it only got delivered after we had to call the after hours line. Otherwise, great stay! Staff was friendly

This campground was perfect for our family. The kids loved the playground and jump pillow. The adults loved the sunsets over the sound and the close proximity to the ocean. We are definitely recommending this place to anyone that asks, and will certainly try to be back soon!!

Have stayed at several different KOA locations and this one is definitely at the top of the list! Already planning a return trip in the future. The KOA team was very welcoming and pleasant. Made you feel at home. Beautiful property and nice accomodations. My only suggestion would be to improve or add more lighting.

We can tell that this campground would be wonderful in high season, but it was not awesome in early March. We had very heavy rain on the first day of our stay and the roof leaked in both our sleeping areas. The smoke alarm was off the wall when we checked in, and there was black dog hair everywhere. The kids enjoyed the bouncing pillow, and we appreciated the ease of access to the beach.

The cabin was roomy, it was nice having 2 bedrooms. It was also dog friendly. We weren't able to use the jumping pillow or pool due to the weather, but we plan to come back. The pool is huge! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional, best ever. The wi-fi wasn't great, but the phone connection was, so not a big deal. Great location between the ocean and Pamlico sound. Happy stay!

Check in staff (Ashley) was super friendly and knowledgeable about the camp and check in process. She was attentive to my needs and questions. I felt welcomed by her and the rest of the staff we encountered. Overall great experience as usual. We look forward to visiting again soon!

The building, pool, and hot tub were very clean and beautifully taken care of. From the great playground, huge jump pad, arcade room, and to the beach in close walking distance, there was so much for us to do with our kids.

We had a great stay. We booked a campsite but it was freezing cold, they allowed us to change to a cabin. The staff were very accommodating and helped make our stay enjoyable. The bathrooms were clean but could use some maintenance. We would definitely go back again.

Way nicer than expected !!! Had everything we needed- it wasn't listed on the description, we could have brought half of what we did...the unit has a FULL size refrigerator, cook top,nice plates, bowls, silverware, knives, utensils, pans,utensils for the electric grill,plenty of towels,pillows bedding, soap dispensers in bath and kitchen, everything for doing dishes, clean up,etc.

Location is gorgeous, everything was clean and functioning. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Had to end the trip early to beat bad weather at home, but we can't wait to go back.

We enjoyed our stay in a vacation suite in the main building at the Cape Hatteras KOA, the room was very comfortable, kitchen was well equipped with more than we needed for our short stay, comfy bed, comfy seating area, very clean. Being it was January we weren't able to use all the outside amenities the resort offered but in a warmer season I'm sure they would be great.

It was a great stay. However, there was a lot of angry shouting in the hallway of the 3rd floor on the morning of New Year’s Eve. It woke my family up and was quite unpleasant.

We have been here many times, both in and off season, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly KOA staff as always. Amenities and activities can be excellent for families. Really like the new text alerts for activities and important updates on the very large, beautiful grounds. However, unfortunately our most recent visit (April 2024) had a few issues. Even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI and only two cable channels, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future, as we would still like to return!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
