First cabin smelled like cigarette smoke, got switched to another one which was infested with ants. Bought ant spray to keep them at bay for the week. The bathrooms were disgusting. Smelled horrible, all the toilets were clogged, shower had mold and sinks were missing pieces. Stayed there a week and it was never cleaned, soap dispensers were never filled.

We enjoyed the amenities. Howe ever, the campsites were too close together. We also found it odd that the campsites did not have a small charcoal grill.

We just left and already booked our site to come back next year! The location is unbeatable and my kids loved the pool!

Deluxe Cabins not well maintained. Bathroom sink did not drain, most of the drawers in the kitchen were broken and falling off when pulled. Pull out couch arm rest was heavily peeling. Informed the Office and was told they would report it but they only have one maintenance guy to repair things. This was done on the first full day. Nothing was ever fixed. Sad to see the pool slides gone and hot tub did not work properly. Very sad to see the pirates ship not in use. The shower houses were very dirty. And as always the restaurant closes too early.

So great! We loved the hotel-like accommodations and being right there near the pool and shop. Would love to check out the deluxe cabin right there on the beach next time though. Everyone was super nice and helpful!

The dog park really needs a water source for the dogs and a shaded area for owners to stand would be lovely. The camp store needs more snack items. The communication via text regarding activities is fantastic and the best I've experienced in years.

The campground was well maintained, many activities for children and families. The only complaint was stayed in a cabin and the cleaning detail could have been a bit better. The ac units were covered in dirt/dust in the vents- the ceiling fans had dust hanging off the blades, went to use some dishes and they were dirty.

The location of this campground and its facilities were amazing. However, the campground was filled up and we were the only ones using a tent. The tent sight was in the middle of the campground and we heard the hum of everyone's generators and air-conditioners all night long. Also, when you go, best to bring your own food as there are not many restaurants in the area and they fill up fast.

Overall it was ok. Negatives were the hot tub, and pool were not clean. Seemed like the filters were off. Feathers and other stuff floating on top of water. Too many kids driving recklessly on golf carts. It would help to have a walkway along the main road into the campground from the office to the ocean. Too much traffic between the vehicles, kids on bikes, all the golf carts and scooters.

Love this campsite. Our campsite was right near the beach. Best site ever! The grounds are clean with plenty of activities. We cannot wait for our next trip to the KOA Outer Banks. The staff was great and the bathrooms spotless. Definitely recommend this campground.

It was great but the hot tub looked like a cesspool of germs and the jets weren't working, and the last step down from the dunes to the beach was missing so that's a MAJOR accident waiting to happen. It's dangerous. Fix those two SAFETY-RELATED things, and it's all good.

Last step from main stairs to beach is a little difficult for us older folks. could use at least one more step. Rest of stay was great. Wifi was weak but expected when you have that many people trying to access the web at the same time. Staff was great everyone was courteous and very helpful when needed. Will definitely be back again.

Love love this place! The beach and pool options are fabulous and it has a resort vibe for sure. One area to improve is please get recycling.

The location is amazing and the campground had some fun activities. However unfortunately there was a large lack of cleanliness. The pool and spa were really dirty but the bath houses were disgusting. It’s a shame because we love KOA and this is the first time we have ever felt the need to leave any kind of negative feedback.

You guys were so friendly and welcoming! We were very satisfied with our stay and can’t wait to plan our next trip back. Our dog got out and the camp ground sent out an SOS to all the workers and campers in an attempted to help find him! The campground was so well kept and was perfect for our family vacation! The night time crab hunting, the tiki bar, the jump pad, the wagon rides I could go on!

The cabin was dirty with sand all over including the beds, hair in the bathroom, door hanging off its hinges, AC broken, and german cockroaches. Water slide gone, hot tub jets broken. The seemingly resident kids around 15 years old on bounce-pad bullied our 3 children this past week. That night our golf cart stolen, crashed, beach chairs thrown around camp. Security and New management needed.

I've been staying in rental houses on the OBX for over 3 decades. This was my first trip taking my family in our RV (we're new to RVing) and we're already booked for next year. My husband and I agree this was the best vacation we've had in ages. The facilities exceeded expectations. Everyone we met was friendly and all the KOA employees were helpful and welcoming. We can't wait to come back!

amazing location and looked fun for the kiddos. Appreciated your person getting us into a spot he didn't think we would fit. Men's bathroom near us was filthy the entire time. Broken toilet, broken door, and never had toilet paper. Used the unisex/family; it was always clean. The outside fish cleaning station looked like a quick fix that somehow didn't get fixed the entire time we were there.

We absolutely love coming to this KOA. Every single time, it's perfect. It's clean, there's plenty of activities for kids, the staff is FANTASTIC, and prices are very reasonable. No matter where you stay in the campground, it's an easy walk to the beach or pool. There is a ramp now which allows for you to take a cooler or wagon to get to the ocean without lugging it up and down staires.

The stay was fine. When I initially checked in the clerk (don’t know name) didn’t check to see if I had any points to apply toward the stay. I guess I thought that was standard procedure.

We absolutely love the Rodanthe OBX campground, we always visit a week in May and a week in July and also try to get back for a week in October if we can. It is always so clean and the staff is always very friendly with lots of fun activities for the kids. My husband travels with his work so we stay at multiple KOA campgrounds throughout the year and this one definitely exceeds the expectations!

We have been here many times, both in and off season, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly KOA staff as always. Amenities and activities can be excellent for families. Really like the new text alerts for activities and important updates on the very large, beautiful grounds. However, unfortunately our most recent visit (April 2024) had a few issues. Even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI and only two cable channels, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future, as we would still like to return!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
