Great location and enjoyed. Campground getting run down and needs lots of maintenance and improvements. Staff RVs (assuming) looks like an RV graveyard.

Staff was great, facilities outstanding, our site was a very short walk to the ocean (which was wild due to hurricane Lee off shore) the area is beautiful.

It was a great stay. Everything was just as described except no internet until the last day of our stay other than that it was perfect. We will go back to this campground

In the past 4 years, I have traveled across the US in my motor-home 8 times and stayed at about 100 campgrounds. I have stayed in other KOAs, State Parks, private campgrounds, farms, museums, and even church parking lots. This was the BEST I have ever stayed in! Excellent staff, superb maintenance, stunning location. I will return.

Lisa is one of the nicest people I have ever met that works at a campground. Enjoyed the heated pool. Marin who works at the restaurant and Tiki Bar is great. Already looking forward to next September Best Mike& Karen Schmidt

Great amenities! Really enjoyed the live music and the tiki bar. Text messages about events ie, power or water issues were very helpful. Good time!

Had a wonderful time! The pool was huge! The activities were great. David did a wonderful job! All the employees were friendly and helpful. Special shout out to David, Betsy, Nash and all the rest of the KOA crew!!

The campground was very nice. Lots to do and peaceful. The pool was great! The only negative thing was that the spots are very small. We had a corner lot so our front yard was big. However, our slide-out was right on top of the people behind us. Thank you

We had another great stay at this KOA. The staff, as always, was great. It was easy to get the site we wanted and everything worked perfectly. I really appreciate the text updates on campground events and unexpected power outages.

I have too say this KOA is by far my favorite! We have stayed at numerous KOA for vacations but this one is over the top , the place is beautiful, the staff was amazing, the pool is excellent, the cafe food was excellent at a good value and the Beach was Gorgeous! Plus it’s all dog friendly!! The sites are a little close but hey our neighbors were great! The park was very well kept and safe.

Staff were fantastic in all respects. The campground really kept neat and clean. The only thing to be improved is the cable TV service.. Needs to be looked at . We will most definately be back.

The campground and facilities are great. The beds were not comfortable at all in the deluxe cottages. We did not have a remote to the bedroom TV and when the staff brought one out to us, it would not work the TV. We rented a golf cart and instead of charging me $78.97 for 1 day the lady charged my debit card $787.98, which in turn had my checking account screwed up the rest of the vacation.

We were down for my son’s 9th birthday…we loved all of the members weekend activities! As always the facilities were clean, staff was attentive, kind and helpful! Our favorite place to stay 30 minutes from home! We can’t wait to come back soon!

EXCELLENT, Except for lousy WIFI. All the years coming down here you think you would improve it like the other KOAs such as Wilmington, Ashville, Cherokee and others.

Overall we had a amazing time at HOA Cape Hatteras. The staff was beyond awesome. From check in to escort to our site (who really helped us maneuver around safely) to all thr staff that helped with activities. Truly shows what a great team they are. For our first ever visit to a KOA, they definitely set a super high standard for next trips to other locations. We are RVing full time for 2yrs sooo?

I was so very very happy here!! Everything was perfect. The staff was great as well as the camp amenities. All you need outside what the camp offers is within a mile or two. The pool and tiki bar were great. Tina’s cafe was open each day but Tuesday. Good food!! The check in staff were all so nice. Heather helped us with our stay and she has a wonderful personality. So hospitable!!

We haven't been there since May of 2021 and it was nice to be back. The service was great and the grounds were really nice. We were in 604 which is one of our favorite spots. The only negatives were the hot tub wasn't working. ( It didn't work on our last visit, either). And this was the first time in almost 10 years that the mosquitoes were TERRIBLE. We couldn't even sit outside in the evening.

The cabin we stayed in (1444) had water damage in the bathroom. The floor was rotting and the tub had a crack in it from the floor rotting, I’m not sure how much longer it will hold up. With that being said, we would definitely come back and stay again, hopefully we won’t have that issue again, it’s a nice campground and I’d like to try one of the elevated cabins.

Perfect site, lovely stay. Only negative was so many out of order machines in laundry. Liked all the activities for grown-ups. As always, staff friendly and cheerful even in dreadful heat.

The park was wonderful. Being close to the beach was great! Staff was Very friendly!! Loved the pool and tiki hut. Thank you so much!! FYI- need to fix ALL the ladders in the pool.

My biggest complaint would be that the bathrooms needed to be cleaned more frequently and the washer and dryer‘s need to be fixed. Overall, this is an awesome park. Great location to the beach and sound. Wonderful pool. Love the Tiki bar! Friendly Staff!

Everything was great, we enjoyed it as always. But there are several things that need attention: 1. ACs in cabins are way too noisy. Sleeping is not very comfortable with that. 2. Bathrooms need better cleaning (doors, walls) 3. Hot tub was not working :( 4. It would be great to have mini-fridges in all cabins a lot of other KOAs have

Spots are very tight. Activities for the kids were great. Beach access is wonderful and showers right there make it easy. Campground is very compact and very walkable so no need for a golf cart. Only 4 stars because half of the sites are full hook ups and the other half is water/electric only. Bathrooms were clean and close. It’s a drive, but worth it in the off season.

Nice park, beautiful area. Very tight camp sites. Internet is almost non-existant, except right at the office, if you are lucky. Lots of cable channels, but most had static. Pool was nice. Large warm hot tub with no jets.

Only complaint was sandspurs around the back of my camper, where I was washing my feet after being on the beach, otherwise we enjoyed our stay, and we already have our bext visit scheduled, see you then!

Facilities were very clean. Plenty to keep family busy or simply relax. Playground and bounce house is great. Pool area was very nice. Shower and bathroom facilities were well maintained and clean even with the heavy traffic/use over the busy weekend. Camp store was well stocked with anything you might need dusting your stay or might have forgotten to bring with you.

We have been here many times, both in and off season, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly KOA staff as always. Amenities and activities can be excellent for families. Really like the new text alerts for activities and important updates on the very large, beautiful grounds. However, unfortunately our most recent visit (April 2024) had a few issues. Even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI and only two cable channels, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future, as we would still like to return!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
