We had a vehicle breakdown and had to extend our stay. They were more than accommodating- every day they extended it until we were fixed a ready to leave. Clean and beautiful park!!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We had a wonderful time. Just 2 things. We found out that OBX out of season, during the week is more or less a ghost town. This by no means is the KOA's fault, just an observation. The second thing is the folks that were in the deluxe cabins had loud music playing till midnight. Besides that, our stay was great! Thank you!!

We stayed here before, this time staying in the deluxe cabin. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The cabin was perfect for the 2 of us and our pet. It was a relaxing vacation that was well enjoyed.

This location has deteriorated over the past 5 or so years, and this was likely our last stay. The hot tub did not function properly the 3 days we stayed (not just routine maintenance day) and water was terribly cloudy. The bathroom sink in cabin was clogged and the plumbing underneath was leaking so bad that I had to use one of their large plastic bowls to catch water when we did have to use it.

This place was great, met and exceeded our expectations. Loved being so close to the ocean and the sound, the amenities provided were perfect, and we can't wait to come back!

3 stars being average, 4 is a little above. Many improvements since my July vacation. Looking better. Biggest improvements are cleaner bathrooms , showers are better but still room for improvement. When adults clean big improvements. Rates still too high for "average " campground. Very little beach but not koaobx fault. There was talk of big changes during winter. Can't wait to get back summer 24

I was very pleased with the campground. It was very well kept, and the bath house is the best that I have used. Just make sure you bring lots of bug spray ;)

Too many dogs, sand needs removed from shower beach access, gravel or asphalt needed on camping spots, staff was friendly. The daily price cost is excessive for October, sights are too close, when I opened my front door of the camper the next sight’s sewer line was too close to me.

Beautiful campground. Our site was damp the entire stay so we had mud everywhere. We didn’t get to choose our campsite and we were put right on the main road. With two dogs, that made for a very stressful stay as we had to worry about barking dogs and people during our whole stay. Would have been much better if we could have picked our site as there were tons available and wouldn’t have left e

We have stayed here several times in the past and always enjoy the area. We were not a fan of our camp site location site#249. There were 3 trailers that looked to be long term residents very unkept & trashy looking. I would go to another camp ground if I was put in the same location again. Monday night there was a Chevy truck with a person sitting in it idling for along time, made my wife nervou.

I love this place I have been there many times. The staff are friendly, and it’s usually calm. I got there this time on October 6th, so I wasn’t expecting very many people. However it was very busy. My neighbors were playing music late and had their kids out playing until 2:00am and someone road a golf cart playing really loud music. The camp staff told them to stop and an hour later they did.

We loved saying at this KOA. It was clean, convenient and very well managed. They even deliver ice to your site! I would highly recommend this KOA in Cape Hatteras. We can't wait to return next year!

My recent stay at the Ocean Front Cape Hatteras KOA was nothing short of magical. This campground truly embodies the essence of a coastal paradise.The amenities and facilities were top-notch. The spacious and well-maintained campsites provided ample space for everyone. The friendly and helpful staff went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met, making me feel welcomed and appreciated.

Our cabin had cockroaches in it. was moved to second cabin also had cockroaches in it. Had to stay in our family RV traveling with us for a night till another cabin came available without roaches. Hot tub did not work. Staff was nice though.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The activities they offered were so fun! I will absolutely be back. This KOA was also extremely clean and neat.

Still, after all these years, this is 1 of my favorite places on earth. Now it's so amazing to take and teach our grandson all things obx. This week's lesson, while there, was all about the rebuild after Irene. Keep up the good work and we'll see you soon.

This KOA is amazing! The pool is huge, the playground is nice, lots of activities and things for the kids to do, prime location, and extremely clean. The staff is friendly and super helpful. We loved it so much, we are going back next month. :)

The campground was roomy with many amenities. In our site was a low part where there had been a water collection and it never dried up in the four nights that we were there. We would suggest that spots like this be covered with some type of rocky ground cover to make the whole site more useable. There were other sites with the same problem.

We had a great time while we were there. The only problem we had was that our campsite, number 100, the asphalt pad was very small, which created problems for us leveling in the sand. Additionally, the sewer access was about a foot above ground & on a small rise, which put it higher then the connection on my camper.

Amenities were great. Quiet hours not enforced. I was tent camping, and hardly slept from all the noise. Dogs barking, kids screaming, loud people entering/exiting campers after 11pm and before 7am (none of which bug me during the day) should not happen. PLEASE PUT ALL THE TENT CAMPERS IN ONE CORNER OF THE CAMPGROUND. It's also much quieter to set up a tent at 1am than a camper, trust me.

We didn’t realize how small the cabin would be for 4 adults and 1 kid. Not their fault and none of the larger cabins were available. Had an on going problem with ants which was address twice. Had to leave a day early due to a family emergency and did not hear anything about a possible refund of our last night which we had pre paid. The staff was all so very helpful and kind during our time there

Pros: convenient location with good beach access, friendly staff, clean restrooms with very good water pressure in showers, great shelter over the picnic table Cons: the neighbor's sewage is DIRECTLY beside your picnic table put up a tarp to block view, the photo on website is deceiving dunes block any view of the ocean so no advantage staying & paying for "oceanfront," the hot tub was broken

We enjoyed everything about our stay! The staff there are very friendly. Our dogs loved the pet play area and we were so grateful for the pet bathing facilities. Be sure to bring bug spray for the mosquitoes.

We have been here many times, both in and off season, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly KOA staff as always. Amenities and activities can be excellent for families. Really like the new text alerts for activities and important updates on the very large, beautiful grounds. However, unfortunately our most recent visit (April 2024) had a few issues. Even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI and only two cable channels, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future, as we would still like to return!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
